Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, Milk River, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park just north of the Montana border. The view is breathtaking from the viewpoint at the top with the hoodoos and the river in the valley below and the sweetgrass hills in the background. Most of the sites now have 15 and 30 amp service now. If you love camping in a unique natural setting then this is a must stop. We will definitely be back again. We camped at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

A great stopover if you are passing through or cross border shopping. Friendly staff. A clean well kept campground with decent sized lots. Wi-Fi almost never worked but a good selection of cable channels. We will stay here again next time we are in the area. Price reflects Good Sam rate. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great little prairie oasis just north of the border. Road to campground has been paved and water has been added to most sites. We will be back again next summer. We camped at Gold Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Revelstoke Campground (formerly Revelstoke KOA), Revelstoke, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place for a night or two. Looks like they cleaned this place up. The downside is you can't see the mountains due to all the tall trees, but the sites are decent sized lots that can easily accommodate big rigs. We camped at Revelstoke Campground (formerly Revelstoke KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort RV Park, Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Our "premium" site was on a grade with a narrow strip of grass too sloped to be of any use for putting our chairs on. The sewer is so far back we couldn't connect to it without buying an extension hose so we didn't use it until it was time to leave and then backed the trailer to connect to it. Twelve dollars a day per person to use the pools. It's a pay for everything resort, unlike some other places we stayed at. We won't be staying here again. We camped at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday Park Resort, Kelowna, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Yes it is pricey but we did get a nice big corner lot with shade a short walk to the adult activity centre. Cable TV offerings are minimal so we used our dish instead. The outdoor pool there was too warm to be refreshing but that was due to the heat wave in the area at the time so we cooled off in the indoor pool instead. They have a huge off-leash grassy park fenced in for your pooch complete with a doggie bag dispenser and a small doggie pool. The beach is on the small side but wasn't crowded. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We will stay here again. We camped at Holiday Park Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bel Air Cedar Resort, Oliver, British Columbia

Nice little place to stay with friendly seasonals to chat with. Owner was very helpful and accommodating to get our 40 footer into a spot. Pool was great and there's a hog shack there with the best pulled pork I've ever tasted. Definitely coming back here again. We camped at Bel Air Cedar Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Coeur D'Alene Casino, Worley, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

It is a parking lot for RVs but now they have added 50 amp service to some sites and charge a fee to park here. Pool access is only for hotel guests but the casino and restaurants are open to everyone. The all you can eat buffet in the casino was fabulous and the food delicious. Nice golf course right next door. Makes a great stop over on your travels through Idaho. We camped at Coeur D'Alene Casino in a Fifth Wheel.

A nice park next to the lake. Lots are level and decent size. Highway noise during the day, but not that noticeable. Pet beach is almost non existent, but plenty of walking trails. Good place to base camp while exploring the area. Would stay here again. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Columbia Falls RV Park, Columbia Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice place to stay if you are in the area for a few days. Our site was next to a fenced off leash area which was perfect for our two dogs to run around in. Wi-Fi works well. Only downside was the sprinklers on the sites come on on at 10:30 in the evening, as we got a surprise shower while entertaining guests at our lot. Although close to the main road, traffic noise is minimal at night. We would stay here again. We camped at Columbia Falls RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
