River Park Campground, Menominee, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice city park. Lots of trees, so roof satellite will not work in most sites. 30 amp full hookups. Stores and restaurants close by. Sites are big enough for 45-footer but can be hard to get in or out of site if trucks/car across from you hang out into street. Train is noisy-lots of whistles around 5 AM on a Saturday. We camped at River Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Whitefish Hill RV Park & Campground, Rapid River, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is really old mobile home park with about 10 RV sites. Right near road and hill so very noisy. Most RV sites are in the trees and hard to get satellite and no longer has cable. AT&T is off/on. It is very expensive for what you get. Is hard for big rigs-greater 40ft- to get out depending on where neighbors are parked. Site listed as bad since could not get satellite and no cable and overall rating reflects high price for not much of a site. Price listed reflects discount per owner who says he gives it to everyone. They do have fire rings and picnic tables and lot of flowers around the area. We camped at Whitefish Hill RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rapid River town is not very attractive and has little to do or places to eat. Can drive to Escanaba which has Walmart, restaurants etc.

Kritter’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins, Newberry, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The new owners are great people but have lots of work ahead to get the park into better shape. We were in 50amp site but no sewer. Sewer sites were 30amp. There were lots of mosquitoes and black flies-understand this is common for May and June. Sites mostly grass so bug problem eliminates outside activity-at least during these months. OK for overnight but spray before you go outside even to park. Shared hookups so if others there may have close neighbor. Check reviews after this couple has owned the place awhile as likely to be improved. We camped at Kritter’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Scott County Park, Bald Eagle Campground, Eldridge, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Nice county park with lots to do around the area. We stayed here in 43 ft RV. This is the only 50 amp full service campground in the park. Other campground is 30 amp electric and gravel sites. This is first come -no reservations -so probably full in the summer. We came in on Thursday and several spots available. Lots more came on Friday. Can stay 14 days. We camped at Scott County Park, Bald Eagle Campground in a Motorhome.

Garden of the Gods Campground, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are very close to each other. ATT does not work on regular basis here, and internet is very bad. Office says they are working on the internet but same thing said last year so not hopeful. Does have decent location close to Manitou Springs and pools so kids like it. Arcade games work about one third of the time. Cable is only few channels and our connection was poor. Tight turns for big rigs and limited number of big rig site. We camped at Garden of the Gods Campground in a Motorhome.

Hillside RV Park, Oswego, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This small campground has great pull through sites; we are 43 ft pulling a jeep. My AT&T air card worked fine. Gravel road in, but sites are a joy to see when get up the short hill. Passport park so very reasonable rate. Owner is very nice and friendly, and the park has some lovely flowers. Quiet area with open or treed sites. We will definitely be back when we are in this part of the country. This is for self contained units only as they do not have restroom/showers. We camped at Hillside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stage Stop RV Park, Ozark, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is just a gravel parking lot--with some sites that look like seasonal renters. It is handy to Lamberts-home of "throwed rolls" and close to Springfield home of Bass Pro and Grizzly tools. Seems expensive for what you get, but if you have family in area, it is reasonable-or for overnight stop on way to or from Branson. We camped at Stage Stop RV Park in a Motorhome.
