Morrow Mountain State Park, Albemarle, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Pros:

Beautiful state park

Cheap

Quiet

Cons (All of these I was aware of except the first upon arrival):

No water at site

No sewer hookup

No Wi-Fi

No cable

Site not level at all; do not get Site #100

If you are not into glamping you will love this place. If you like the woods and shade this is the place for you. If you have a boat, bring it. The place is nice. I will be back. We camped at Morrow Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pirateland Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Fun place, Spots are close to each other but that's expected on the beach.. Staff were nice, neighbors were nice.. Golf carts will drive you nuts especially the ones with the loud music but they stop riding at 11pm. Plenty of shopping/food/groceries or anything else you could want nearby. I would recommend renting a site with a concrete pad. We will go back We camped at Pirateland Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Mayberry Campground, Mount Airy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Spent one day there had a good time.. Very clean, but the sites were a bit close together. No fire ring at my site. 2 nice fishing ponds.. Think this place is more suited to the older crowd.. Very quiet at night and the staff was wonderful. Good food close by (within 2 miles). I would/will come back. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This place is perfect for us, the bathrooms and showers are clean and neat. The park is clean, most of the park is paved (spaces gravel), the staff is wonderful, they do not bother you unless you are a rule breaker. Wi-Fi is plenty fast, cellphone signal great (close to I-85). Firewood is 5 bucks for a big generous bundle of good split hardwoods that burns good and great for campfire cooking. Trees are thin on some sites for satellite users. Pool is small, but very clean. Fishing pond is nice and clean. This is the best campground Overall, I have ever been to and this will be my go to spot close to home. You must have a drivers license to drive a cart here and they will check and if you break the rules here they will make you leave. Garbage cans at every site that are emptied everyday. They have a playground as well for the kiddies... Huge spots. There is no trash laying around in this park, everything is very clean. Park is extremely quiet at night. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Midway Campground Resort (formerly Statesville East I-40 Winston-Salem, Statesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I got last minute reservations so I can't complain much about the spot I got , but it was too small for my rig and too close to the neighbors. I was afraid to make a fire, it was so close. Pool is clean, but they must allow the public to pay to swim as all chairs are full with towels and people. Late night fireworks are tough on the dog. They have a few decent looking sites. It's overpriced for what you get here. Wi-Fi is extremely throttled to the point it's barely usable. The people seemed nice enough, but be careful here, you can really do some damage to your rig by dragging. I don't think I will come back. We camped at Midway Campground Resort (formerly Statesville East I-40 Winston-Salem in a Motorhome.

Dan Nicholas Park, Salisbury, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice staff; quiet; lots of families. Don't expect cell service or satellite TV (thick trees). Nice fire rings. I had a great time and will be back. They told us camping in parts of the winter is 2 nights for the price of one. No generators allowed; no golf carts. I loved the place, I will be back. We camped at Dan Nicholas Park in a Motorhome.
