Solomons Island Navy Recreation Area (Military FamCamp), Solomons Island, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for Labor Day weekend. Pools (4) and the beach were great! They had a jelly-fish net up that was awesome. Miniature golf, 2 playgrounds, small arcade and so many more activities for our little ones. Our site didn't have sewer, so we used the bath-houses. They were kept very clean. The sites themselves were very roomy, although it would have been nice for them to have mowed the grass for the holiday weekend. Grass was about ankle length, which was a turn off. We were close to home and tempted to go get our own push-mower to do the job ourself. Overall a good time. We camped at Solomons Island Navy Recreation Area (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground! The little ones in our group loved the jump pillow, pool, arcade and snack shop. The particular site we stayed at #77 was kinda tight, but we were with friends so we didn't mind. We were tubing that particular weekend (with River Riders). The bus picked us up and dropped us back off at the campground which was convenient. Great camp store and friendly staff. They also offer a free pancake breakfast in the morning which is a plus! We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Shenandoah Crossing Resort, Gordonsville, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. Had a great stay. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of activities for the children in our group. They provided a fireworks display on the 4th, which was nice because we didn't have to leave the campground. The only complaint I have is the Wi-fi or lack of. The campground was huge, so if you have access to a golf cart bring it! r. We camped at Shenandoah Crossing Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Adventure Bound Camping Resorts (formerly Duncan's), Lothian, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We've gone to Duncan's the last 3 years for the "kids are special" weekend. This year, we talked another couple into coming with us, and they were sold! Such friendly staff that works there! The planned activities they had for the kids were off the chart! Pool is great, very pet friendly. They have a doggie park, playground, and mini golf. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resorts (formerly Duncan's) in a Travel Trailer.

Shenandoah Hills Campground, Madison, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here Memorial Day weekend. Overall a nice place. The children in our group enjoyed the jumping pillow and the planned activities. Stocked lake was nice for fishing. We didn't get to enjoy the pool because it was early in the season, but it looked very nice and inviting. Wi-fi wasn't the best; that is the only complaint. We camped at Shenandoah Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.
