Great setting for a park. Well off the interstate. Despite being very wooded, it was no problem for our 40' fifth wheel. However, many sites are not suitable for larger RV's. The host guided us to the site knew exactly where to turn wide, etc. The park was full with locals enjoying camping for the weekend. There were a number of seasonal/permanent sites. Friendly folks and staff. Only complaint is that the 50 amp site was truly a single pole 50A breaker, and not a dual pole (100A). We stayed overnight, but it would be a nice place for a longer stay. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent park for our overnight stop, but would be great for longer stays. Old KOA, as noted by others. Plenty of room for big rigs, and the back row has recently had the power poles replaced. Owners are friendly and helpful. Gravel access road is wash boarded, so take it slow (seems worse going in than coming out). We don't have dogs but there appeared to be a nice run for them. Would definitely stay here again.

Easy stop off the interstate. Convenient to Bismarck. Utilities worked well although sewer connections are in odd places (had to back up RV and dump upon leaving). Showers and restrooms are recently constructed, but were not kept clean. (Mold, empty toilet paper, and urine on the floor.) I don't know who cleans them, but I never saw anyone. Your porch faces your neighbor's porch. Park is 90% local workers and their families. Quiet and respectful. Despite being a self-serve park, they do take reservations if you know you'll be stopping (recommended due to high occupancy). Otherwise, good for overnight or short stays in the area.

Large park, part of which has park model and mobile homes. Obviously built or expanded due to oil boom a few years ago. Mostly workers and transients. RV sites looked to be about 50% occupied at this time. All sites appear very large/long and transients are kept in different areas. Only complaint (if there really is one) is that A row pull-thru sites face each other. We stayed 3 nights and never had a patio neighbor. Had a great experience and the office staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

We have stayed at this park several times over the last few years. It's been about the same all along and not much has changed. The owner can seem gruff, but is really a nice fellow. As others have noted, the setting and proximity to Asheville are the draws here. We absolutely love access to the parks and trails that run right through the park. A few years ago, there used to be shade trees on the highway side sites, but the local utility came in and removed them because they were encroaching on the power lines. A real shame. Anyways, about getting into the park. The trick is to U-turn at the office/repair shop. I've seen people U-turn at the park, but it's a little more tricky. Alternatively, you can exit I-26 at Haywood Rd, then follow Hanover to State St, then to Short Michigan Ave (hilly but no clearance problems) to Amboy Rd.

Great park. Sites 100-111 are the best for separation from neighbors. Sites in the 90's are long back ins, *but* have tent sites immediately behind each site. The rest of the park seems laid out reasonably well and I've seen a lot tighter. Sign in the office notes specific site requests may not be honored. Site utilities worked well. Good Verizon LTE. AT&T was weak 4G. On-site store was very convenient. They even have a gas/diesel pump. Clean laundry.

Pros: New asphalt roads and level concrete pads. OK water pressure. For the size of the campground, many sites will accommodate bigger rigs. Turning clearance was no problem in our 40' rig. Beautiful riverside location. Cons: Electrical voltage was on the low side (110-112) and required the use of a booster (autoformer). Restrooms/showers were clean but are in a converted trailer and thus the space is maximized by use of curtains and awkward plumbing (shower is above your head). No AT&T service. Verizon 3G (weak). No WiFi. Overall this park is great for an overnight stop, and the owners try to maximize what they have.

We were pleased with the park based on other reviews here. The management was friendly and helpful. Lots of permanent campers but the park keeps everything tidy. On-site store was handy for last minute items. Good Verizon and AT&T LTE. No recycling.

The draw of this park is first and foremost the mountain views and wooded setting. I agree with the other reviews about park condition, surroundings, facilities, etc. It's very small and fills up. Even though this park accommodates big rigs, and we didn't have any problems, it's tight and there is not a lot of room for error. The person who performs park maintenance and security, is the biggest asset (staff wise) to this park IMO. He was extremely helpful in helping us navigate in and out, and did everything he could to make us feel at home. The lady in the office was friendly and helpful to us, but I witnessed her become very impatient with someone on the phone (asking questions about site size and accommodating a 40' RV). This park can accommodate large rigs, just prepare for some maneuvering. Strong Verizon and AT&T signals.

Very nice campground with a lot of different outdoor activities. Gravel sites. Nice pool and clean bathhouse. Friendly staff with gift store and some hot food items available. Not too far off the Interstate and easy in and out.

Easy on and off the interstate and very close to downtown. The site we were in was not level. Showers were dated, but clean. About as good as it gets in the area. Safe and secure, and pretty quiet.

This park was no problem for our 37' fifth wheel and Dodge 3500 DRW tow vehicle. Yes, the roads are very narrow, but it's possible if you take your time and are careful. Many of the sites will accommodate a 40' or larger motorhome. I suppose "friendly" is a bit of a stretch, but you can make it work. Wonderful wooded sites give a feel of seclusion and separation from your neighbor. Pool is great. There is lake access, but no pier or anything to ease swimming. Bath house was clean, but deteriorated. Water pressure was extremely low. Manager and staff was very friendly.
