Watkins Glen State Park, Watkins Glen, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with wonderful scenic hike through slot canyon gorge. Park is older, needs some trees trimmed and some removed. Trees on the CG roads require 90 degree turn into sites and not wide enough to maneuver tow vehicle. Little maintenance at sites, ie: cig butts. Very busy with many campers partying, music and lots of smoke from campfires. We camped at Watkins Glen State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Gaviota State Park, Goleta, California

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This appears to be a day use area turned into a campground. Your site is actually a parking stall with another stall next to it for your tow vehicle or toad. There are two stalls immediately next to you. These stall are spread out in a circle around a dirt center island used by family tenters, which seems to dominate this park. It's overpriced and not really designed for RVs, especially anything over 25'. Would not go back at any price. We camped at Gaviota State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ludington State Park, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful state park located between Lake Michigan and another large freshwater lake, 5300 acres on the Lake Michigan shoreline. However, the campgrounds are similar to attending a football game tailgate party. Sites are shoe horned together with absolutely no privacy or landscaping. You would think that with the acreage they have and the income from campers they could expand and make the CG a better experience. Everyone has a campfire going so hope you like smoke. We camped at Ludington State Park in a Travel Trailer.
