Resort? I don't think so. No cable; no sewer; no WiFi - how is that a resort? When I called to book the site I was told that it was the last weekend for camping so the pool and hot tub were closed, there were no activities planned and the store would be closed. We really only wanted a place to park the motorhome while we did some leaf peeping so that didn't matter to us. I was surprised that we were still charged the full summer weekend rate, even when I asked for a discount. The campground looks like it is mostly seasonals and the sites are not kept up very well. Driving to our site seemed like we were driving thru an automotive junkyard. Our fire pit was overflowing with garbage and brush. Truly disappointing experience.

This was our third visit to this campground over the past 20 years. The convenience of having a shuttle service to the parks and being able to go in an hour before the general public are the only good things I have to say. The sites are small and very close together. The staff apparently doesn't care to enforce rules as long as people have paid the visitor fees. We had a group of 35 (this is not an exaggeration) that had flood lights set up in the site next to us. They were plugged into electrical outlets belonging to two other sites, and they were constantly walking through our site. When asked not to, they claimed to not understand English. I went to the office twice to complain and was basically told that there was nothing they could do because they had paid the visitor fee. Apparently there is no maximum occupancy per site as long as they can collect some money. After my second trip to the office and an argument with the manager and security, they finally went to their site and made them shut the flood lights off. Too little too late. We will definitely not be back.

The road in to this campground is narrow, windy, and straight up for 7 miles. I honestly didn't think we were going to make it. There is no shoulder so we couldn't even pull over to disconnect the car or let all of the vehicles behind us pass. When we checked in, I commented to the staff that they should tell people when they are booking motorhome sites that the road in is not motorhome friendly. I was informed that there was a better route than what comes up on GPS. We traveled that road for the few days we were there and it was much better. Why wouldn't you alert people to this either on the website or when someone books a site. Lesson learned though - I will always ask when booking a site at any campground if there are any travel concerns or GPS warnings. Once there, we had trouble getting to our site because of unattended children on bikes purposely riding in front of us and even leaving a bike in the middle of the road. This is a nice campground with large sites, but could use some updating. If we decide to go back to the area, I think we will choose a different campground.

What a great campground! Very small and quiet place, quite unlike the busy places in nearby Old Orchard Beach. Sites are large, shady, and grassy. Campground is on the beautiful Saco River. Wifi was nonexistent at our site, but I saw people on laptops sitting on benches outside the office. Extra $4/day if you want to use your AC.

This is a HUGE campground, but sites are not at all cramped. Sites are large and grassy. Beautiful views, especially the sunsets! The beaches seem to go on forever and the water was much warmer that I expected. Didn't spend much time on the beach though because the temperature was cooler than normal for that time of year (our max temp was 74) and it was painfully windy. Wifi was virtually nonexistent and they will only give you one login code - if you have more than one device you have to pay for additional codes. Beautiful campground but I couldn't rate it higher because of the lack of cable, swimming pool, and poor wifi.

Quiet park. There isn't much around - nice casual restaurant with outdoor seating down the street but that's about it. Roads are very bicycle friendly. Site 21 was a grassy, shaded site but a little tight if you have a canopy and a slide. Bathrooms were clean but dated. Camp store hours are rather limited. No cable or Wi-Fi, so I thought the price was a little high. Was rather annoyed that the guys cutting the grass and weed whacking felt the need to do our site while we were packing up to leave and couldn't wait until we were done. There were many empty sites that they could have done first, and it was still an hour before checkout time. The beach and the water are great and the sunsets are beautiful!

This is a nice, no frills campground. Short walk from your site to the beach. No open fires are allowed at the campground, but permits to have a campfire on the beach are available at the office. Sites are on the small side, but that is typical for the area. Not much of anything to do in Waves itself except the beach. Closest grocery store is 15 miles south. Nags Head and Kitty Hawk are a 45 minute drive. Some shade at the pool would be nice, maybe add a couple of tables with umbrellas. Great fishing out of Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.

We stayed here for our annual tubing weekend. We were in a motorhome and the rest of our group were on tent sites. Nice campground with large grassy sites. Very convenient to the Deerfield River and Shelburne Falls (Bridge of Flowers and Glacial Potholes.) My only complaint is that the grass needed to be cut. We will definitely be back next year.

This is a great campground! We stayed on a Premier RV site which was $82-90 depending on what day of the week you are staying. I'm glad we spent the extra money because the Premium and Deluxe RV sites would be very tight for any motorhome. Location is very convenient to beaches and restaurants. Wifi isn't the greatest....can't always connect, and it's rather slow. Pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was here. We will definitely be back!

This park is right off the road and all the roads within the park are paved. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. The park was very quiet, even on the weekend. My only complaint is that the sites were rather small. Luckily we did not have anyone camping on either side of us. Location is very convenient to Philadelphia and Winterthur Gardens.

What an amazing place! I would not call this a campground though. It is a motorcoach resort. That being said, they do not allow campfires. Even charcoal grills have to be up off the ground. This is a very picturesque park - lots of palm trees and plush shrubbery and flowers. Very shaded and very pretty. The bathrooms are like that of a luxury hotel with built in hairdryers. The island is absolutely gorgeous and very bike friendly with wide, paved paths that wind around the entire island. You can literally bike everywhere. The beaches are amazing and one of them is only a mile away. There are tons of restaurants and a lot of them have live entertainment. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

We were here over Labor Day for a family camping/tubing weekend. We had been here a few years ago and loved it. Since then there has been a change in management and not for the better. The bathrooms were disgusting - I didn't have to use them but we had two couples with us that were tent camping that did. They were filthy. The sites were grassy which would have been nice except that the grass was quite tall. The roads were full of huge ruts that were full of muddy water. It would serve them well to invest a little money and fill the ruts in with some gravel. The ground was very soggy and all the standing water brought out the mosquitoes. We chose this campground because they offer tubes and transportation for the Battenkill River, but they ran out of tubes so we had to rent from a place down the street and provide our own transportation. This place has the potential to be a great place, but unless they make some improvements, we won't be back. Be sure you call for their pet policy; dogs not allowed on any tent sites, only the RV sites.

Very pretty campground. Huge grassy sites. Nice swimming beach. We were there mid-week and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Not much to do in the area but if you just want to relax this is a great park. I didn't rate it higher because of it's lack of cable, Wi-Fi, and planned activities, but it was perfect for us.

What a beautiful campground! The sites are huge and they are grassy and a nice combo of shade and sun. The water is shared between four sites so don't pick a site with the water on it unless you don't mind people washing their dishes and brushing their teeth at the edge of your site. We moved sites after the first night because of this. The staff at the office was wonderful. The lake was beautiful. Super convenient to dozens of wineries. I am ashamed to admit that I am a bit of a camping "snob" and this was my first stay at a state park (we have been camping for 27 years) because I never wanted to be without full hookups. Can't believe what I've been missing! If you are leaving on a Sunday, you might want to consider hitting the dump station on Saturday night as there was quite a line when we were there.

Nice park with decent sized sites. As mentioned in other reviews, this is a cash only park which would have been nice to know before we got there. There is a no-fee ATM at the convenience store right down the street. The location was super convenient to several beaches, shopping, and restaurants. My only complaint is that the cable did not work unless we fed the cord from the box in through a window, which meant leaving the window open and it did rain while we were gone so we had a mess to clean up, but no water damage. The Wi-Fi never worked and they tried to tell me that it was my phone and Kindle that were the problem. I was able to get a connection on both when I left the campground and went to a public Wi-Fi spot.
