Roughrider Campground, Minot, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The best element of this campground is the access. It is easy to reach and interior roads are mostly wide enough for a 40' MH. We disconnected the toad. Otherwise the campground is dirt roads, undefined gravel campsites, only a playground for amenities. Residents include seasonal, permanent and transient. WiFi is very good, satellite or OTA tv is limited. Directions on google or the website do not include a mile marker to exit at; that mile marker is between 142-143. We camped at Roughrider Campground in a Motorhome.

St. Cloud / Clearwater RV Park, Clearwater, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

I give this campground a 7 because the roads are hard to navigate. The trees have grown up and that makes access to some sites difficult. The campground has plenty of activities for children. The pool is entire campground is booked solid oneeekends. Weekdays are not full. There is a neighborhood of seasonal/permanent RVs but they are set back from the transient campers. Access is good, except in the park. Very little exists right outside the park. One must drive for 15 minutes to get great amenities. WiFi is good, satellite is not. I would not return here because I am 40' plus a tow. We camped at St. Cloud / Clearwater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Madison KOA, De Forest, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to campground and sites. There are some tress but they are properly cut back in most places. Excellent staff. Campground has few amenities, mostly the standard pool and laundry. We stayed four nights. Sites were fairly close almost all were pull thru. Satellite tv was blocked by trees. Campground is located within driving distance of many attractions. We camped at Madison KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go see Horicon national Wildlife Refuge. Take the pontoon ride. More than enough for a day's adventure. For full timers there is a Walmart SuperCenter and so much more within a few minutes.

Monroe Co. / Toledo North KOA, Petersburg, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

Average access but campsites were tight and departure was difficult. Old campground dressed up with a swimming lake and a water slide. Expensive. They have three pull thru sites and only two 50 amp site. Service at check in was unprofessional. It was rushed and often interrupted at the same time. We stayed one night. The only night in30 years of camping that I had to call security. A lengthy and memorable issue. Will not stay there or recommend it for big rigs.( we are 40') We camped at Monroe Co. / Toledo North KOA in a Motorhome.

Bellefonte / State College KOA, Bellefonte, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to the park. Once inside a big rig will have some minor difficulties. Park was pricey. For the price you got great bathhouses and some pretty nice kid areas. The park is expanding in 2019 so it could become even better than it is now. We only stayed one night. We camped at Bellefonte / State College KOA in a Motorhome.

Walkabout Camp & RV Park, Woodbine, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times over the years and as the years have past the campground has slowly improved. Plans are to expand by 30 sites in the future. All sites are pull thru except for three new back-ins. The campground is grass so gets wet I rain storms. It is easily accessed from the interstate. For summer guests there is a pool. For dog owners, a good size dog park. The employees care. We have never stayed here during snowbird season and this place was full of them this week. A good sign. We camped at Walkabout Camp & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Eagles Landing RV Park, Holt, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Note, this park takes cash only. This is a great overnight park though most of the park was filled with seasonals. It is not fancy but has invested in good internet service. Access to the interstate is easy The employees are friendly. We camped at Eagles Landing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Reunion Lake RV Resort, Ponchatoula, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

This is a resort. Water activities, two pools, one for adults only. Lazy river also. Sites and roads are paved, with a picnic table. There is adequate distance between sites. Golf carts available for rent. WiFi is $7.50/ day. We did not use. Other recreation includes mini golf, pickle ball, basketball court, bar and exercise room. Already in March the park was full on the weekend. Super easy access 1/4 mile off the interstate but no noise. We camped at Reunion Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA), Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We have overnighted here several times. This March 2018 stop was probably the best. As the campground transitions from a KOA the grounds are improved, the cafe (winter months only) is a very nice perk. The work-campers this time were very pleasant. Our site for our one night was a pull thru. The internet is bad, my only real complaint. The CG location is near truck stops for fuel and has good access off and onto the interstate. Great for one night. We did not use the restroom or laundry. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Abilene RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This small campground was an overnight stay for us in. 40' plus toad. The couple running the campground is very pleasant. The campground is easily accessible being just off the the interstate and therefore busy with vehicle traffic until late evening. Our site was a 65' pull through so we were end to end with our car hanging out just a tad. This was fine for an overnight. We did not venture into town or use the restroom or laundry. We camped at Abilene RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sheridan / Big Horn Mountains KOA, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet, clean, staff friendly. Sites are a little rough. Could be graded or have more gravel applied. Some sites are shaded some are not. Some are long enough to keep car connected to big rig. Campground was only about 20% full the night we stopped in late August. We camped at Sheridan / Big Horn Mountains KOA in a Motorhome.

Bear Canyon Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a real conundrum. The location is great, right off the interstate and very close to town. The cleanliness, the wifi, the water pressure are all really good. The big rigs are parked in the center of the campground and many of the sites are unlevel. The interstate and train whistles can be annoying if you are a light sleeper. And no where in their documentation does it state that there is a $7.50 charge to check in before check-in time. If I was in a nasty mood I would have challenged them on that. I rated it higher than it maybe is because of its proximity to great amenities. We camped at Bear Canyon Campground in a Motorhome.
