The Vineyards, Grapevine, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

There is nothing but praise I can share for this campground. After suffering 3 major floods in 4 years this campground is beautiful. Congratulaions to the crew, ground people and many volunteers that helped return this campground to its awesome condition. This is a must to visit when you are in the area. Spacious sights and a large green belt to walk the furry kids. Excellent roads for riding bikes and you can rent golf carts on sight. There is a Marina across the cove that was playing live music last night and sounded like everyone was having a good time. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Minutes to Great wolf Lodge, Bass Pro Shop, Grapevine mall. On the lake with boat ramp on sight. Just one main cove from the Gaylord resort. We took the granddaughter to LEGOLAND and Sea Life at the Mall. We had lunch at the Rainforest Café. LEGOLAND was a beat down but Sea Life was very nice and had best value..

Sandpiper RV Resort, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is not a huge park but its very nicely laid out with pull throughs and back ins. Its close to beach and also close to the downtown stores and restaurants. It was very quite during the week but got full come the weekend. I wanted to use the pool, it looked really nice but ran out of time. This is a nice clean facility. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Advice when leaving. Take the side street to the traffic light about 300yards to the north its a better way to get to the main drag.

Lake Pointe RV Resort, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Park is very old with very little improvements. They really build up ownership, I don't get it. Rocky hill country type park, nothing smooth, roads rocky rough with tree limbs hanging over. Tight quarters, but it was fine for a night. Deer running everywhere and the kids were having a good time at the pool. The lady in the office was just super nice with that southern hospitality; she was my favorite memory from our stay. We were leaving at the exit gate and the shrubs and bushes on the side scratched the heck out my motorhome (I was so mad). I probably will stay somewhere else next time down that way. We camped at Lake Pointe RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gulf Waters RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We loved our stay at Gulf Waters. We had a very nice time, we spent time on the beach, going into town and dining out and spending time in the many souvenir stores. We spent time driving around this small town and fell in love with the town and its people. Gulf waters is a class act and we will return and hope to spend more time. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

You can drive your vehicle on the beach and you do not need a permit to park at the section in front of Gulf Water Rv. Great Mexican food at La Playa. Looks like lots of places to fish.

Robbers Cave State Park, Wilburton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed in the past and really enjoy the privacy and the woods vibe this park gives. We pulled a toad this time and stayed in a pull thru and we enjoyed this better than a back in. There is a area in front of the office that you can unhook your toad and hook back up when leaving, the pump out loop is tight and roads could be tight for large units. We could tell there has been a cut back on maintenance there were branches hanging over into the roads that scratched our coach. We got chiggers and we found ticks on us so spray yourself if you take the pups for a walk, its very woodsy. We camped at Robbers Cave State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Has a country store/office. Children's playground down the street. A lake across the street that has paddle boats and canoes, a swimming pool and a small museum. There is a large area that has a equestrian facility and RV pads, we drove back to check it out and there were several horses and campers. Don't miss the Robbers cave that requires a little hiking and climbing.

The Vineyards, Grapevine, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

A very large spacious RV resort. They have golf cart, bicycle, water sports rentals. Waterfront and water view sites. They have a large children playground and tons of common grass areas for walking the dog. Very pet friendly. The city of Grapevine puts on a fireworks display on Friday nights very impressed. Very friendly staff and campers. I would give a 10 but our site was very severely unleveled. As we walk around we see others struggling to level. Some new concrete pads and they look very level. This is a very kid friendly park and the kids all seem to be having a great time. We will return this is one of our favorite places. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

Robbers Cave State Park, Wilburton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2014
Overall Rating:

This State Park is a nice place to visit. The swimming pool, Lake activities, and cave exhibit are very far away from the campgrounds. If you do not have a toad be prepared for a hike. The campground we stayed is the back large circle area. If you are looking for thick woods, narrow trails, privacy this is your place. Don't expect to much, this is a State Park. Some slips could be a tight fit for larger rigs, the pump out station on the way out has hard curve so be prepared. We will stay again a real good place to get away from the hustle. We camped at Robbers Cave State Park in a Motorhome.

Robbers Cave State Park, Wilburton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the back section the big circle. It was a very wooded park with tons of trees, brush and poison ivy, need to be careful if you walk the trails. This is not a park for big rigs, over 40 will struggle. If you want seclusion this is the park for you. Feels almost like your boondocking but did have water and 50 amp service. The lake, swimming area and paddle boats are across the street, a pretty far walk from the campground. Has a small store and a small children playground. We will stay here again. We camped at Robbers Cave State Park in a Motorhome.

Hickory Creek COE, Lewisville, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a COE campground that is very well maintained. Lots of road for bicycles and walking the dog. Some sites back up to lake waterfront. We had a waterfront slip 92 in a cul-de-sac. You will find tent campers mixed with motorhomes, they do not have sewer hookups but have a nice pumpout on your way out the park. The line can get long if you leave when everyone else leaves. This is a very good campground for big rigs. We will stay here again. We camped at Hickory Creek COE in a Motorhome.
