Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is a huge, shadeless field. They seem to specialize in hosting large group events. The number of restrooms is totally inadequate for the number of sites. And they are located in only one spot so that means a LONG walk for most of the campers. The only good thing about this RV park is that the Wi-Fi at our site worked very well. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pony Soldier RV Park, Lingle, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is the most rundown RV park I have ever seen. In addition the restrooms were not clean and the showers nearly unusable. To top it off there is a train track across the street with an at-grade crossing. Every half an hour all day and ALL NIGHT a train went through and blew its horn upon approaching that crossing. It was impossible to sleep. If you stay here be sure and use your earplugs. The WiFi at our site worked fairly well. That same train track passes the couple of other RV parks we saw in this area so I don't know if they would be any less noisy. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dorset RV Park, Dorset, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, well organized, and quiet RV park in a very scenic area. Wi-Fi at our site did not work well. Kind of expensive considering the lack of amenities. We camped at Dorset RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gettysburg Campground, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This seems to be a well organized and maintained RV park. The Wi-Fi worked very well at our site. But I don't know how it would work or if there are adequate restroom facilities during the busy summer season since we were here after the peak vacation time. It is very convenient for a visit to the National Battlefield Historic site. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp Niantic Family Campground, Niantic, Connecticut

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is very rundown. The roads are rutted, the trees untrimmed, the restrooms barely acceptable. The cable TV and WiFi both worked very well at our site. For one night it was okay but I wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Camp Niantic Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Sweetwater Forest Family Camping Resort, Brewster, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely wooded park with most sites nicely spaced. WiFi is only available near the office. If you need to use the restrooms and your site is near a lot of tenters you will find the restrooms are very crowded. The park needs to build more. We camped at Sweetwater Forest Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Melville Pond Campground, Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

I give this RV park a poor rating because it is an extremely poor value. They charge a range of $55-70 per night and yet do not have a pool, laundry, Wi-Fi, or cable TV. On top of that the roads are in poor condition and the single dumpster is in a very inconvenient location. This park is not even near a beach! They only accept cash as payment. We were told this park belongs to the city of Portsmouth so I guess the city fathers have decided to soak the tourists. This is one of the very few places to stay within a reasonable distance of the mansions in Newport. We camped at Melville Pond Campground in a Motorhome.

Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is an expensive RV park and it has the audacity to charge extra for cable TV. In addition its advertised Wi-Fi does not work properly. In over 2 months of travel this summer our laptop only had a problem hooking up to the Wi-Fi service in this park. When we asked the owner about it his reply was that he didn't understand why our laptop wouldn't connect with his WiFi but that he has found that some people are successful using his WiFi and others are not. He had no interest at all in looking into the apparent problem with his WiFi system. the bathrooms and laundry are clean but the showers are very small. The best part about this park is that it is located in a lovely spot right next to the fields of an Amish farm. We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Motorhome.

Camping Bernieres, Saint Nicolas, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is incredibly crowded. Our neighbor tied his awning to our utility pole. Their awning almost touched our RV. This park is mostly occupied by season long residents. The atmosphere is "one big party". On Saturday night there was a noisy, organized parade of golf carts after 9 PM. The restrooms are rundown and dirty. Although they advertise having WiFi it was only available in a very small radius around the main office. Finally, their guests are inconsiderate. Someone kept parking his pickup truck in our space and we had to ask him to move several times. Someone also took our outdoor entry mat. The only good thing about this campground is that it was relatively easy to get to Quebec City from here by driving 25 min to the ferry which we took across the St. Lawrence River to old Quebec. But we would investigate other RV parks in the area if we were to return to Quebec. We would not stay here again. We camped at Camping Bernieres in a Motorhome.
