Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail), Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Great for us for overnight stay. Nice views, clean, only has about 30 sites. Some pull thru. Reduced my overall grade since grass had not been mowed at our site nor the others close to us. Also our site and the site next to us had dog poop left behind. Café not open again. We camped at Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail) in a Fifth Wheel.

We have never been able to find a good restaurant in Raton NM. The town seems to be running down more each time we stay here. Sorry but that is our feelings about it.

Shady Pines RV Park, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 3 nights during June and it was the first time ever. Park is extremely well maintained. Great full hookups. Some of the trees are getting large so watch where you park so slides will not hit them. We had a great pull thru. Does have some traffic noise since you are near highway 67. Will stay again. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lucy's Place RV Park, La Veta, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

First time here. Sites are very close and tight. Wi Fi was broken more than worked and poor when working. Stayed a month, mid 80's during the day with a nice breeze. Office staff and owners very nice and helpful.

Would stay again but not for a month. Not that much to do in and around La Veta. We camped at Lucy's Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Stock up on groceries before arrival. One store in town and it is expensive. Not a lot of food choices in town and they are not always open. Not a great deal to do in La Veta but Walsenburg only 13 miles away.

Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort, Creede, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Monthy rate is $675.00 plus electric. Sites are spacious, park in great but too expensive in my opinion. Many things to do in and around the area. Beautiful mountains. Very nice people in office. Rained much of the time we were there. Great weather other than the rain. Cool at night. Would have rated better if price was cheaper. We camped at Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail), Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Poor Wi Fi, stayed here before and would stay again. Site 17, is a little tight and close to ones on each side but ok. Great views, quiet, friendly staff. The cafe was not open when we were there. Went into town to eat did not think the town of Ration was that great. Old buildings, old neighborhoods. We camped at Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Site 47, was unlevel, dirt, and rain had washed a ditch down the center. Many sites are in need of repair, leveling. shrubs and trees need trimming. Many other sites better than this one. Nice people at office. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

North Texas Jellystone (formerly Rustic Creek Ranch), Burleson, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

$79.00 per night is for one camper and 2 adults and 2 children and that does not include the price for the water park. Now if you have plenty of money with young children this is the place to be. This is the second time we brought grand children here but it will be the last. I wanted to give it a better rating than last time but when I saw overall condition of the park I could not. High weeds everywhere. Over grown shrubs and trees, extremely poor internet, an ice machine that charges $3.50 for 10 pounds of ice but only weights about 4 pounds. In the office, ice is $3.79 per bag. Staff is very nice but apparently very poor management.

Construction crews adding to water park attractions begin early around 7:30 AM everyday. Many things for young children to do but my grand children liked on a few of the activities. We camped at North Texas Jellystone (formerly Rustic Creek Ranch) in a Fifth Wheel.

Clear Spring COE, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here before and will return again. Site #E13 long and pretty level, shaded, near restrooms and showers. Our site had 30 amp service. Park is clean and maintained. Only negative is several campers do not follow all the rules. Their dogs were allowed to run free. We camped at Clear Spring COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort, New Braunfels, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I gave it a higher score than last time only because they had my site where they were supposed to. Many long term trailers and workers here and park seems to be going down hill. Appears they are wanting more cabin business that RV. Now my site was a pull thru and pretty level, power and water good, cable worked pretty well. Friendly staff. I would stay here again if the price remains the same but only is the 300 section. We camped at Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Overpriced. Rate shown is with Good Sam discount. Many long term people here. Clean park, nice buildings, but one site next to me had an older Class C with junk piled around it. Water hookup leaked. Location of park not easy to reach. Probably will not stay here again. We camped at La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort, New Braunfels, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

When I called and made reservation I told them two times we were with woodcarvers group. They put us in a very small back-in site with over grown shrubs and trees and as far away as possible from others in our group, who had large sites. Excessive highway noise and train noise. Poor location for RV park. Park was somewhat clean but had dogs running loose inside park. Many long term people in park with some very old campers. We camped at Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

North Texas Jellystone (formerly Rustic Creek Ranch), Burleson, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Rip Off. Cost of stay provides limited access to things. Must purchase a band for $25.00 to $39.00 to gain access to water park and other activities. Park landscaping is poor with several dead shrubs. Our spot had not been mowed or edged in sometime. First put me in a spot next to highway and construction, wedged between two cabins, and was more mud than gravel. Highway noise all night. This is Interstate 35 south of Dallas, one of the busiest in the state. I quickly moved with office help. But had to convince them the spot was empty only after they had called the person that had rented prior. They thought he was still there. Great for kids or grand kids. Many things to do if you have the money to spend. Many people complained about poor cabins and RV locations. We camped at North Texas Jellystone (formerly Rustic Creek Ranch) in a Fifth Wheel.
