Markham Park, Weston, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Not good. Beautiful Park. Very courteous office staff. The Lady that helped me make the reservations on the phone was very helpful. The campground / site maintenance is next to non-existent. The site we had looked like it had not been mowed in weeks, very shady site with low-hanging branches, lots of dirt and black mud. Upon arrival but before parking we contacted the front desk about maintenance coming to mow and clean the site. We were told that maintenance was not available until the next morning. The next day at noon we returned to the office to request maintenance services again. At 3 pm the 2nd day the maintenance person showed up to mow the 3 sites next to us and finally got to us. There are multiple long-term campers "lifers" that keep their site looking like trash, loose dogs, cars speeding well over the 15 mph limit. It's a shame because the park has a lot of facilities for activities but it looks like Broward County grossly neglected the maintenance and administration of the Campground. A few days prior to our arrival, we were called and asked if we would move sites because a "lifer" wanted to extend their stay. What we were offered as alternatives were non shaded, non private sites closer to the gun range. We camped at Markham Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Louisa State Park, Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean quiet park & campground. There were some low hanging branches from trees over the park road, that we could hear hitting the roof of the motor home. Site 16, was pull thru, full hook-up & level. Downside is no shade tree. We enjoyed our one night and it was our first time. Garbage dumpsters a bit far from Dixie camp loop. Good phone signal (AT&T) and air TV channels. Will return when cooler weather to kayak. We camped at Lake Louisa State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of stores, restaurants and gas stations 4 miles down the road outside of the SP going N on US 27. So if you forget something or don't feel like cooking, there are options.

Lake Park Campground, Lake Park, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff, 1st time check-in was lengthy after long day on road. Grounds looked like they were in midst of post-storm clean up with piles on side of roads. Large oak trees with Spanish moss. Overall nicely kept. Convenient to highway. Park not very busy. We camped at Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground, Tallulah Falls, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Park staff/host not overly friendly or helpful. Never answered phone. Campground roads are very narrow with low hanging branches for our 45 foot Motorhome. Glad we unhitched toad at entrance. We chose site number 42, which was fairly level, had some low hanging branches that park maintenance came and trimmed for us. Nicely shaded until about 4 pm. Large concrete picnic table and fire ring, which we used. Did not use bath house facilities. Location within 30 minutes of Chattooga River and wineries. About an hour drive to Blue Ridge Pkwy. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Point Of View Key Largo RV Resort, Key Largo, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean resort on the bayside, friendly helpful staff, nice fenced & grassy pet area, even have 2 garbage pick-ups per day and hedge privacy between sites. View from waterfront site 31 was partially blocked by trees along shoreline. The management has a great thing going here and hope to see them enforce their rules with the "Keys Crowd". We had people walking through our site as there wasn't a public walkway nearby to access beach. Improvements in process; hope security gates are high on list. More shade trees near sites would be a plus. We camped at Point Of View Key Largo RV Resort in a Motorhome.

OB Fuller Park and Campground, Escanaba, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We had site L5. Very large site, all were. Site had water, 50 amp electric. Beautiful lake front site with a sandy beach access to the lake. The camp host greeted us upon pulling into campground. He was very helpful, hospitable, and nice. He turned us on to some great locally made pasties. We would definitely return. A sewer hookup would get a higher rating, we were only there 2 nights. We camped at OB Fuller Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Grove Campground, Corbin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Very nicely maintained, friendly hosts, level campsites. We had site B2, a reservable site, it was perfect for our 45' MH and toad. 25W is narrow with no shoulder. Turn into CG was tight with toad but we made it okay. B loop had no shower facility, just toilets. No Satellite reception on B2. AT&T service decent. Only received 3 TV channels with antenna. We camped at Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Florence Marina State Park, Omaha, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, well kept, lots of amenities for a state park-cable tv, full hookup. Waterfront sites would make it a 9- 10. We chose a Very large pull thru site on end. Easy access in and out for our 45' motorhome. Poor AT&T service. Go see Providence Canyon. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Motorhome.

Harrison Bay State Park, Harrison, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty setting, we had site c22 at end of circle. The management was poor. There were no rules apparently regarding the number of cars allowed per site. One day there were 6 cars at a site on the circle blocking the flow. There's no fee to enter park so there were a lot of cars driving through. Sites were not level. There was trash left in our fire ring & others. We camped at Harrison Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

No frills, nice, clean, economical and relatively close to Hwy. We had pull thru site A4, and it was not level and we had electrical issues after dark. Not crowded, no problem finding a walk up site. We camped at Santa Rosa Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Canyon, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Wow! What a gem! Beautiful scenery camping down in the canyon. We were on site 130 in sagebrush, room for our 45' with slides. The road down into the canyon is intense at 10% with 3 switchbacks in a class A and tow . Only con was that we couldn't open our awning due to tree, but where else can you camp in a canyon in your Class A? We camped at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Foss State Park, Foss, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted a full hookup site and the sites down by the lake were not full hookup with a beautiful setting and scenery. We were on site 1 and were disappointed with the size. It was really too small as a pull thru for our 45 ft with tow. No security or gate and our BBQ and fire pit were full of trash. The park personnel to check us in was very nice. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

Lakeside Landing RV Park & Marina, Cropwell, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice lakefront. We were passing through for one night only. The place was pretty empty so we chose site 5. Tight pull through with our 45' + tow. No shade or privacy between sites. Some permanents. It isn't worth going back and risking damage to our RV electrical system. We had to run our gen all night due to faulty electric hookup. There was no one qualified to help. We camped at Lakeside Landing RV Park & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Wow! This is a hidden gem! Nice large pull-thru level sites and a great view. Only thing missing were shade trees on our site in the 3rd row for Motorhomes. It was dry and very dusty when we stayed. We would return in cooler weather. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.
