Houma RV Park, LLC, Houma, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is just a gravel parking lot. Most of the campers are workers down here on a temp basis. No real amenities but we felt very safe here. It is close to restaurants and groceries. We camped at Houma RV Park, LLC in a Motorhome.

There are plenty of historic plantations to visit in the area. In October they have the excellent Voice of the wetlands music festival.

Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA, Fort Mill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is subpar. First the good: convenient to everything. There is a Publix supermarket right next door. The bad: the park is right behind a gas station, bar and liquor store, so lots of traffic out front. Next, in the back someone has a construction company with access through the park. So all day long there is traffic through the park of non campers. We were parked on this road and it was almost like facing a public street. Finally, the park is old, poorly laid out, and in need of TLC. Our power went out several times during our stay. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We just stopped here for one night while traveling east. This is a very nice park, great layout with plenty of room for the largest rigs. Nice concrete pads, and fully landscaped, so no dirt to track inside from your feet. Sites have plenty of room between you and your neighbors. Very nice pool and spa area here as well. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We loved it here. Stayed 2 weeks in the top section. Nice concrete pads and beautifully landscaped. Staff were so so nice. Park City is a great place to visit. Lots of hiking, biking, and many nice restaurants in town. We camped at Park City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Point of Rocks RV Campground, Prescott, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is truly unique. It is tucked into the Granite Dells. Our site had a giant boulder in back that was 30 feet tall. You hike through the dells right from the campground. The views were incredible. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome.

The park is very convenient to I-26. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. They show movies and make it fun here. The sites are spacious and the park is scenic, with some hills and a pond. We camped at Pine Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is county owned and operated. They have a maximum stay limit and other rules. The park is extremely tight for larger rigs. We could barely get parked here. The RV park is really just a huge paved parking lot with little landscaping, so be prepared for that. The county park adjoins the RV park and is huge with lots of recreation activities available. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park is older and has lots of long termers. The sites in the middle are pull through. Some like ours, have the power hook up on the wrong side side of the RV making it more difficult. The staff is friendly but not very well informed. The redeeming factor id Santa Fe is so nice, and this is about as close as you can get to all the activities. We camped at Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park in a Motorhome.

Henrys Lake State Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is situated in one of the most beautiful locations we have ever seen. The lake is so scenic and surrounded by mountains in all directions. The RV park is very well laid out, with plenty of room for the largest rigs. We stayed for 2 weeks, which is the max allowed at one time. Showers and baths were spotless, but we did have a struggle getting hot water at times. This park can be very windy, and we did experience some winds up to 40 MPH. We camped at Henrys Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy access to Yellowstone NP from here. If you stay here you get free access to another state park in Island Park that has great bike trails. The lake has the best trout fishing in the state.

Volunteer Park Family Campground, Heiskell, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The folks at the office were nice, but they had lost our reservation, lucky for us they were not full. The park is old and needs TLC. The roads are tight and hard to drive on. Our site was not level and were not able to get completely level. The sites are tiny, we could not extend our awning here. There are many permanent residents with junky rigs here. We found trash, broken glass and other debris around the park. We would not return. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Sherwood Forest RV Resort, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This place is old and run down. You park on weeds; may have been grass a long time ago. It is very muddy when it rains and stays that way for days. The park is overrun with fire ants and the management does nothing about it. Only redeeming quality is location. We will probably not return. Wi-Fi is extra cost and very unreliable. We camped at Sherwood Forest RV Resort in a Motorhome.
