Artillery Ridge Campground, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We certainly enjoyed this park. Very quiet, very clean and well kept. Well stocked store. The laundry needs updating. Small washing machines that shake, rattle and roll! Had horse stalls, but we never smelled them or saw any signs of horses being on the grounds. Nice pool and small playground for the children. It was close to everything we wanted to see and do. We spent several days at Gettysburg viewing all the monuments, which were fantastic. We also really enjoyed the museum at the visitor center. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here several nights. Very convenient to the things we wanted to see. Park shady and clean. Close to the interstate, but noise didn't bother us at night. Had a beautiful swimming pool and friendly staff. We camped at Harrisburg East Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

New York City North / Newburgh KOA, Plattekill, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed the park. It was clean, the sites were wide, and we had some shade. The park was quiet even though it was very full with families with children and dogs. The campers followed the rules about quiet time and the care of their dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed this park. The free pancakes every day for truly a plus as were the staff. We camped at New York City North / Newburgh KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We took the bus to New York City which the park arranged for us. I tell you, it's the only way to see the "Big Apple" We traveled to West Point from this park and to Franklin D. Roosevelt's home and museum and also to Eleanor's Val-Kill home. Lots to do in this area.

Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park, Mt Pleasant, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park was fairly new. New concrete pads, updated electrical hoop-ups and new trees. It was a beautiful park and lots of things to do for the kids as it was close to a small beach with lots of equipment to use in the water. There was also a shuttle every fifteen minutes to the casino. It was by a small airport, but there was no noise that we noticed. We camped at Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Narrows Too Camping Resort - Thousand Trails, Trenton, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in a 5th wheel. We had a pull through space as were most of them. We weren't even close to the water which disappointed me. Those spaces must be reserved for the return customers. The space was level, the park was quiet and the laundry was clean. $2.50 to wash, $2.00 to dry, but the dryers were for 45 minutes, which was great! We extended our stay and received and received a 15% discount. The park is not too far from Bar Harbor. They are working on the road to Bar Harbor so take the alternate route to avoid the construction. We camped at Narrows Too Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We spent three days in Acadia National Park, which was beautiful. One day we took Olie's Trollies through the park, which we purchased tickets for in Bar Harbor, and the fog was so bad we couldn't see much. The next two days we went in our private vehicle and still couldn't see because of the fog. So this is my tip...if you have a sunny, fog-free day you should go to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park.

Niagara Falls North / Lewiston KOA, Lewiston, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

the park was clean and shady. The spaces were level and the roads were easy to navigate except there were a couple of trees that should have been eliminated as they were hard to navigate around. The only problem we saw as that the pool closed when the office did which was 6:00 p.m. There are a lot of people who would enjoy a swim later than that. Seems this is KOAs new policy. It is posted there is no life guard on duty, so whats the problem with leaving the gate unlocked a little later in the evening. We camped at Niagara Falls North / Lewiston KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We took a Greyline Bus Tour to Niagara Falls which was a great way to see the falls and several other sites. I reserved the tickets on the phone, but I should have waited as the gentleman at the KOA could sell me the same ticket and get us a ride from the RV park rather than us finding the parking lot for the tour bus in town.

Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA, Perrysburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We were only in the park one night but it was not a good experience. The bathrooms were run down and dirty. The roads had ruts in them from last winter. There were a lot of full-timers who didn't observe quiet hours. One party left at 4:10 in the morning. If people living in the park and working don't observe the quiet times, why should anyone else. I wouldn't stay in this park again. We camped at Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here several nights and really enjoyed our stay. Huge sites (we were on grass only), lots of beautiful trees and very quiet although we were close to the highway. The laundry, which I checked out but did not use, was great, 4 regular washing machines, 4 double load and 8 dryers. the grounds were well maintained and there was a beautiful pool. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Interstate RV Park, Davenport, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here several nights as I had to catch up on the laundry. The park was clean, quiet had a great DVD selection in the office. I was disappointed in the laundry as it only had 4 small washers and 3 dryers. All needed to be updated. Other than that, our stay was great. The park had a lot of full timers, but was well maintained. We camped at Interstate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Country Villa Motel and Country Camping, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

If we would have had longer to stay, we would have stayed here for several days. It was a small park, but had all the amenities we needed except for a laundry. That was the only thing it was missing. Beautiful setting with trees, grass and a gazebo. Excellent park. Very quiet considering it was not far from the highway. We camped at Country Villa Motel and Country Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Country Campground, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

This was a "mom and pop" park and it was a lovely surprise. The woman who checked us in was quite pleasant and gave us good service. The park had plenty of shade and spaces were level. We only stayed one night, but it was such a great park, we could have stayed a week! We camped at Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

While we were in Grand Marais, MN we went up Gunflint Road looking for Moose...never saw any, but had great pie at one of the lodges. We went to Thunder Bay, Ontario, CA and visited Ft William, which was so educational and the people giving us the history of the fort were quite knowledgeable. I would recommend this to families also.

Fort Stevenson State Park, Garrison, North Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We thought Lewis and Clark State Park in Williston, ND was great, but Ft. Stevenson State Park in Garrison, ND was even greater! The spaces were huge, with lots of trees around them. The roads were paved and easy to navigate. We had full hook-ups, a fire pit, a picnic table, the works. Plus the marina isn't very far and they sell ice cream. The entire park was in pristine condition and very quiet. The staff were courteous and ready to help with anything you needed. We camped at Fort Stevenson State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lewis & Clark State Park, Williston, North Dakota

We have stayed at several state parks throughout our trip, but this one was the best we have been in. It was a pleasant surprise because of the beauty of the area and the layout of the park. Our space was big and level and so private. We had trees all around and the peacefulness was wonderful. What a joy our 3 nights there were. The staff couldn't have been more courteous and helpful.
