About Wandering Wishnies

After travelling continuously for 9 years we've bought a townhouse in Tucson (1/15/2015). After some deliberation we have sold the rig, so our travelling days are over. It was a wonderful ride!

Casa Grande RV Resort , Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Large well maintained park with wide roads and big gravel sites. Cement patios but no tables. Very little plantings. Friendly, helpful staff. We had a problem, because we came here to have a repair done to the rig and they wouldn't let the vendor in because he didn't have his insurance certificate with him. When we wanted to leave they would only offer to refund 3 of the 4 days even though we had only been here 2 hours. Not nice! We camped at Casa Grande RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of our favorite parks. We've been here 3 times now. The park is kept very neat and the birding is fantastic. We were in site#11 and it is Way off level. We needed 4 blocks to get close. We camped at Patagonia Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Really just a gravel lot in back of a home. They have 30 and 50 amp sites, but they are not marked and we set up at a 30 before we discovered the mistake. Friendly, but large, intrusive dog from neighbors stalked our dog and made walking difficult. Closest park to Bosque. We camped at Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Happy Camper RV Park, Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel park right on highway. Lots of road noise. Fast Wi-Fi, but no OTA TV. Cable is only for long term residents. Lots of "older" long term rigs. Nice folks in office. About 10 miles from town. Probably would look for something else if we returned to the area. We camped at Happy Camper RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Goulding's Lodge & Campground, Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Location is perfect. Sites are gravel and not too level. At $50 a night the WiFi should work and the cable TV shouldn't be fuzzy. Way too expensive, but they have a lock on the market so can get away with it. We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Blue Ridge Motel & Cabins / RV Hook-Ups, Pinetop, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Small, rustic park with charming, funky feel. Friendly, attentive, helpful owners. Gravel back in sites, mostly with concrete patios. A few have small wooden patios. 30 amp service and somewhat spotty wifi. Many long term residents. $295 a month rate with electric is the best bargain in Arizona. We would definitely return. We camped at Blue Ridge Motel & Cabins / RV Hook-Ups in a Fifth Wheel.

Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park), Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 2 weeks. All the criticisms are correct, but to us the park was very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for shopping and visiting the city. The park and the pool is kept very clean and neat. Most of the sites are shaded by mature trees. We would definitely return. We camped at Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Large park with gravel roads and sites. Some trees and landscaping, but open feel. Road noise is loud, especially at the front. Pool is nice and kept clean. Wi-Fi is useless, we could connect, but never got anywhere. OTA TV works fine. Quite a way from the city and we drove a lot. Rate is based on weekly charge. We would not return. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Fifth Wheel.
