Eagle Soaring RV Park, Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about 6-7 miles west of Steamboat Springs in the middle of nowhere. There is a train track across the highway from the park & when a train passes it honks it's horn - doesn't seem to be on a set schedule though. Sometimes it was during the day & sometimes at night. Otherwise it's pretty quiet. Site was spacious and pretty level. We camped at Eagle Soaring RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Steamboat Springs is a cute little town with some fun little shops. But the gondolas that run up to the top of the mountain where there's a really nice restaurant we were looking forward to going to was closed when we got there. Enough things to keep you busy for 2-3 days this time of year.

Circle The Wagons RV Park , La Veta, Colorado

They have a very limited number of 50 amp spots, so check on that if you require that. We were there with a group & they were very accommodating to us all. Site was back-in & was pretty level.

Gravel - Dirt with a picnic table. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

Conejos River Campground, Antonito, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Our RV Club went to this camp ground for a long weekend gathering. It was pretty good. They were very helpful & accommodating until there was a misunderstanding about conflicting information we'd been given.

It was clean, the site was fairly level. Not a lot of trees.

I don't recall what the Good Sam rate was that we paid. We camped at Conejos River Campground in a Motorhome.

Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Our RV Club went for a long weekend stay here. Although the group goes there nearly every year, it was our first time there. We really liked it. It was clean & well maintained & the staff was very nice & helpful.

I'm not 100% sure if I'm remembering all facts correctly - but I do think it was on gravel & pretty darn level. I know it had a picnic table and may have had a fire ring too. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Shenandoah Valley Campground, Mount Jackson, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This appears to be a very new campground. Very clean & well maintained. Since it's so new, the trees are young & small, but our site was almost level. The roads are asphalt as are the sites. We were escorted to our site (which has been an uncommon thing while traveling the N.E. this year.) They have a lovely swimming pool & a covered area with tables & grills, as well as a nice fire pit surrounded by the double swings. We would definitely consider staying here again if ever in the area. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent park - a bit more expensive than what we normally pay. But, it had all paved roads, our site was pretty darn level and we had all the necessary hookups. It's very clean and well maintained with lots of conveniently placed trash/recycle receptacles (something we find quite rare in most parks). They have a cafe located right inside the park with good food. Lots of amenities that would especially be attractive to families with children. Each day they offer a "class" to tell you about all the tours available that leave directly from the park and even have the tickets available. We took a 2 day tour into Washington DC and really enjoyed it. We would definitely stay here again if ever in this area. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground), Clarksboro, New Jersey

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This park is clean, well kept and attractive. The people we dealt with were helpful and accommodating, but not overly friendly in the process. The things we did not like were that the sites were a bit too close together, the washing machines were very expensive, and the Wi-Fi (although free) really wasn't good most of the time. We might consider staying here again if in the area. It did have close proximity to Philadelphia. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

Black Bear Campground, Florida, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We traveled in 2013 for 7 months, so stayed at a good number of RV campgrounds. We have been traveling in 2014 for 7 weeks & have been staying for a shorter amounts of time, so have been in a lot of them already this year. I have rated every campground we've stayed in and don't remember ever giving a 10 rating before. This campground is laid out very well, is clean and very well maintained. They have 2 laundromats, very good Wi-Fi and full hookups - with 50 amp. (Something we found as a bit of a rarity in the Northeast so far.) The staff was friendly and helpful, the park was quiet in a beautiful setting. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Black Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Battle Row Campground, Old Bethpage, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean, pretty camp & would be perfect & worthy of a 10 rating if they had wifi, sewer hookups & a laundry. It took us several days & finally moving our motor home forward in our space to be able to get reception on our TV satellite. (I don't think many sites here are located in such a way as to get satellite, because of the trees.) There is a laundromat pretty close & they do have a sewer dump. Not a lot of equipment for children to play on so it was mostly adults - nice and quiet. We would stay here again if for a very short time. (It is owned/managed by the county.) So the price paid for a space is a bit high for what you get. We camped at Battle Row Campground in a Motorhome.

Markham Meadows Campground, East Hampton, Connecticut

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park leaves a lot to be desired. The lady in the office was helpful & pleasant & they have a lot of amenities. But our site was horribly unlevel. We only had water & electricity (30 amps) with no sewer - so very expensive for what you got. No cable, couldn't get our satellite to work. It had been raining & was pretty muddy too. We probably wouldn't stay here again unless it was for only 1 night & we were certain to get a more level site. We camped at Markham Meadows Campground in a Motorhome.

Homestead by the River, Biddeford, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park with a lot of permanent residents. But it kept up very well. When we first arrived we only had water & electricity. At this site we had excellent phone & wifi. We moved to a new site the next day that we loved because we had full hookups. But, our phone service was sketchy & we had no wifi at all. So, we'd go down by the office to use our computers. When we had service it was excellent. I've seen much better laundrys but got it done. We would stay here again if ever in the area again. We camped at Homestead by the River in a Motorhome.

Kampfires (formerly Hidden Acres Campground), Brattleboro, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is an attractive park. We couldn't get TV on our satellite because of the trees around us, but it appeared other people could. We also had no sewer hook-up at our site, but they do have a dump station & some sites to have hook-up for it. They have a lot of amenities here. If ever in this area again we would consider staying here. We camped at Kampfires (formerly Hidden Acres Campground) in a Motorhome.

Niagra Woodland Campground, Ransomville, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

It was very muddy after they'd had a rain the day before we arrived. The water & electric hook-ups were close to the front of the site & the sewer hook-up was way far back. You'll need some long connections to make it all work. The wifi is slow. The reservations were easy to make on their website but when we arrived the site we were sent to wasn't the one assigned. We asked for a pull-thru if available in a more open area so we could use our DirecTV on the roof of our motor home. We got a back-in site under trees. A lot of permanent residents reside here in this park. I guess that can be good or bad. We will not stay here again. We camped at Niagra Woodland Campground in a Motorhome.

Willow Lake Campground, Geneva, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The lady in the office was very nice. The sites are really long & you have a nice space between the sites. Each site has a little yard, a table & a fire pit. There is a catch & release lake on the property, as well as a swimming pond/lake & two playgrounds. We probably would've rated this a 10 if it had a laundromat & if the sites had been level & hard-packed. But our site was very unlevel & the gravel/asphalt was soft, so we had problems with our jack pads & getting leveled off. We did not use the restrooms/showers, but it is a new large building, so I'm sure they're good. They are supposed to be getting a laundromat too. Their wifi was very good. We would consider staying here again if they get the sites leveled & firmed up. We camped at Willow Lake Campground in a Motorhome.
