Wapakoneta KOA, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A nicely laid out, somewhat smaller, very clean facility. Sites are close together. Neighbors awning was inches away. Gravel sites (with wood decks) and some concrete premium sites with paver patios available. Good cable TV and excellent water pressure. Very close to Interstate 75 but didn't notice traffic noise. Great convenient place for an overnight stop. Very attentive, friendly and helpful staff. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Long's Retreat Family Resort, Latham, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for the first time on Memorial Day weekend. Since they don't take reservations, we drove up the Tuesday before (on a friend's advice) and grabbed two adjacent sites. To hold a site, you must place something there (RV, tent, car) and leave it. Normally you don't have to go up early but big crowds were expected for the holiday weekend. That prediction proved true, as the place was JAMMED. It's a huge, nicely cared for facility with great activities for kids. On busy weekends there is an ENDLESS parade of golf carts, bikes, cars and trucks from dawn into dark. Our two sites were level, wide, and tree shaded with 30/50 and water but no sewer. The full hookup sites are on one side of the park and are close together with hills and no shade. Staff members were friendly and attentive and security patrols through regularly. It's a rural atmosphere and is 15 miles off the main road on hilly winding rural roads. There was no cell signal (Verizon, but I'm told ATT works), wifi, or local TV. Many seasonal campers. Regular visitors told us the crowded conditions were due to the holiday and because the Summer attractions were opening that weekend. Normally, it's supposed to be easy to arrive and find a decent site. Great kid activities including pool and lake swimming with huge water slides, small boat rental, go carts, carousel, mini golf, huge arcade. Very family friendly! We camped at Long's Retreat Family Resort in a Motorhome.

Little Farm On The River LLC, Rising Sun, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park was easy to find despite the GPS wanting to take us elsewhere. No big deal. Very nice camp store/office where we were warmly greeted and provided with a map and program of activities for that weekend, which included wine tasting! As mentioned in previous reviews, this park is divided into two areas. We stayed in the lower riverfront area which had roomy pull- through and back-in sites. Roads were somewhat bumpy (gravel) and full of potholes. There was extended rainfall while we were there, which caused some mud and minor flooded spots. The lower area is surrounded by farm fields on all sides except the river side. Access to the river was down a gravel road, as the banks were too steep and overgrown for walking. There were many permanent campers in the lower area, but no issues or problems with that. Hookups were convenient and reliable and there was plenty of room between sites. We will return. We camped at Little Farm On The River LLC in a Motorhome.

Westward Ho Campground, Nashville, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Warm welcome from office staff with friendly conversation and local information. Owner met and directed us to our site and assisted with backing. The motor coach area was a fenced concrete parking lot immediately adjacent to the road so there was plenty of traffic noise. No trees, no fire ring and one old picnic table behind the coach in a grass strip between the parking lot and entrance road. In fairness, we just parked and slept there, spending the rest of our time in nearby Nashville. Didn't encounter any of the grouchy rudeness mentioned in other reviews. At checkout time we were running a bit late, but the owner said nothing and still offered a friendly wave and thank you as we pulled out. We camped at Westward Ho Campground in a Motorhome.
