Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park), Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We spent three nights at the Trailer Ranch and were very impressed. The staff are outstanding, polite, helpful and good travel guides. The park is in town and very accessible to the sites of Santa Fe. Very clean and quiet. Upon arrival we had a personal guided landing. The lack of pull thru was dealt with handily by an experienced staff member supervising the back in. Highly recommend the park. Less expensive sites are available in the park. We camped at Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Taos Valley RV Park & Campground, Taos, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were in Taos for the annual Wool and Fiber festival and chose this RV park as it was in town. The park is well managed, quiet and clean. Park sites are small and navigating through the park is a challenge. No cable and Wi-Fi is pretty limited. Took a look at other in town options and this one was the best. Spent a week here. We camped at Taos Valley RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park. We stayed here a few days before the Balloon festival in Albuquerque and the place was packed. They managed to fit us in for a night. Well run, big sites, escort to your site and help with setup if you need it. Close enough to town to access all the city events. Can't miss with this park. We camped at American RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great spot. We were headed to Taos from California and spent a night at Blake Ranch. A very well run park. Only drawback was access road from the freeway was in terrible shape. This road is not part of the park, but be sure to go slow. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park, Newberry Springs, California

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Manager was very pleasant and helpful. Park had only a few rigs the night we were there. Located on Historic Route 66, Newberry Springs is home to the Bagdad Cafe of movie fame. The park was very basic and very close to I 40. The truck and train traffic will keep you light sleepers entertained all night. Not a lot of choices on this stretch of road, so if you've had enough of the road, pullover, put in the ear plugs and get some rest. We camped at Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park in a Motorhome.

Bakersfield River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park in the center of Bakersfield. Well managed, clean and exceptionally helpful staff. Park is modern with excellent space access for any size rig. An extensive bicycling trail is just across the dry Kern riverbed. Costco is just across the street. Despite the proximity of Hwy 58 and 99 the noise level at night was pretty good. We really enjoyed our stay. We camped at Bakersfield River Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park, Coalinga, California

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Great staff, easy site access make this an OK spot to pull into after a long drive down I5. On the downside, there is a lot of noise and some odd odors that permeate the park. Although the address is Coalinga, the town is 15 miles away as are most services. There is a truck stop/gas station with minimart. If you're too tired to drive on this place will do, otherwise find a spot in Bakersfield to the south or Patterson to the north. We camped at Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pinto Lake Park, Watsonville, California

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A pretty public park with a beautiful lake and excellent security provides a welcome in-town RV park for visitors on the Monterey Peninsula. Although the sites are small, the park is rarely full so you can spread out a bit beyond the site limits. The park manager does an excellent job of keeping things in good order. Public access to the park is limited to daylight hours and the gates are locked in the evening. Yes, you do get a key. Our grandchildren live in Watsonville, so this is a regular camping spot for us. We camped at Pinto Lake Park in a Fifth Wheel.
