Thousand Trails Lake Whitney, Whitney, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2015
Overall Rating:

The park for bit hard with the fall rains. Apparently most of the facilities got flooded and they are in the process of renovating. The laundry is finally open and the family center is the hub of activity until the adult center is finished, should be by the end of the month. The roads are in need of repair, as they are very pot holed. The member activities are still going on and the staff is working hard to get the park back into tip top shape. We had no problem with the electric or WiFi through our Verizon hotspot. We camped at Thousand Trails Lake Whitney in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

OK for overnight only. No cable, no WiFi, no discounts. Very narrow sites. Sign in at adjacent liquor store. Stayed because all the others in the area were full. Would pass on this park in the future. We camped at Paradise RV Park in a Motorhome.

AOK Camper Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Basic no frills park. No "office", just a drop slot. Payment based on the honor system. Maintenance man came by and said to pay on your way out. We stayed here for two weeks. Clean relatively quiet park. About half the slots are filled with long term residents. Clean and no too junky sites. No grass burrs. The residents we interacted with seemed friendly. This park is mostly overnight stop for folks traveling through. The park is located about two miles east of the Amarillo city limits. Just down the road from the Big Texan steakhouse. We would definitely stay here again. The Passport America price makes this a terrific value. Easy on easy off from the interstate. We camped at AOK Camper Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close enough to see all the sites in Amarillo. Just up the road from the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument, worth the trip. You are within 5 miles of many restaurants. About 7 miles from the closest Walmart. There is a laundromat about 5 miles away that is real clean.

Roadrunner RV Park, Wolfforth, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Fairly new park with basic amenities and asphalt sites. Back in. Friendly staff. Good park for overnight or base for Lubbock activities. Open area with no trees. Park is only about a year old and the owners are developing all the time. Would stay here again. Probably best to call ahead to get directions to park. We camped at Roadrunner RV Park in a Motorhome.

Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

After finding the park (GPS was trying to send us 50miles south.) the park was not bad. Some potholes to maneuver around. Staff was helpful. Sites are gravel and dirt. La natural for the area. Acceptable for the price. Acceptable for an overnight stop. Good 50 amp and Verizon WiFi is strong. Would stay again for an overnight stop. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Ozona Corral RV Park (formerly Circle Bar Super 8 Motel & RV Park), Ozona, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Read the other reviews. Had low expectations. Was still disappointed. The park was across the street from the motel. Tiny sign directing you to register at motel. The clerk had to hunt for the manager. The park was horrible. Even the tumbleweed was dirty and unkept. We camped at Ozona Corral RV Park (formerly Circle Bar Super 8 Motel & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Stayed in site 19, an interior site so the loud band was not a problem. Level gravel site. Be sure to call ahead as the sites are filling up with local construction workers. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will stay again if in the area. We camped at Dodge City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Murfreesboro RV Park, Murfreesboro, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground. The staff was very helpful. They provided classes on mining and have washtubs set up for cleaning tailings from the mine. Also provided screen sets and shovels for guests at no addl charge. About a mile from the mine entrance. There are no over the air channels but all these sites are sat friendly. With such a small park recommend calling ahead for reservations. Sites were gravel and mostly level. We camped at Murfreesboro RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice level gravel sites. Staff friendly and helpful. Located adjacent to highway and train tracks. The train whistles lull you to sleep at night, but there is some noise from the highway. Stayed three nights. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Travelers World Campground in a Motorhome.
