Frog Hollow Campground RV Park, Grenada, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

1 overnight stay. Larry and Beth were most accommodating and friendly.
Our site was a reasonably level pullthru. Long enough to accomodate our 32' MH & toad to remain hooked. Utilities were easy to access. Good 50A. Site was grassy. Trash receptacles close by with sturdy lids.
Interior roads are gravel packed that could use some smoothing out. There had been a considerable amount of rain prior to our arrival so travel areas were muddy.

The CG is located alongside I-55 divided by a tree row. We slept undisturbed.
Good wifi & air TV.
We would stay again. We camped at Frog Hollow Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

1 night stay. RV camp sites are at the back of a Mobile Home Community.
Easy access from US 60/Bus US 65. Within walking distance to shopping & restaurants.
There are RVs scattered throughout the park along with permanent mobile homes. Nicely kept mature neighborhood.
Site was level pullthru. Good 50A elect, sewer & insulated water hookups.
We would stay again. We camped at Ozark Highlands RV Park in a Motorhome.

Azalea Acres RV Park, Robertsdale, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects PA. Very accommodating with a long pull through, level site. Asked us to call as we exited I-10. When we called, they gave us great directions into their CG and met us at the entrance to guide us to our site. Very nice workampers/management.
Appearance of CG very nice. We stayed 1 night and would return for a longer stay in the future. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carrabelle Beach RV Resort, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed the month of Oct, 2015 at very peaceful Carrabelle Beach. Monthly rate of $649. + $50 elec. Excellent access (across the street) to the gulf waters behind the barrier islands of Dog and St. George Islands. White sand beaches, light waves.
Our site had a partial view of the gulf waters and was very nicely landscaped. Nice picnic table on a concrete patio.
Big rigs are often challenged with the space allocation. Toads or TV often are parked partially in the narrow drive lanes.

Cable reception was really poor. Staff checked it but no improvement. They indicated the problem was in our unit. The next time we hooked to cable after we left Carrabelle, we had a great picture.
The area is primarily fishing villages so the tourism factor is very low. All the accommodations for dining, groceries, bird and animal watching available within 10-45 minute drive.
The FL black bear is very active in the area. Trash receptacles are raided nightly. We have pics of a momma & 3 cubs in a restaurant dumpster at 3 PM.
We would stay here again. This is our second RVC Outdoors Destination. They have high standards. We camped at Carrabelle Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Perkins RV Park, Jonesboro, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

1 overnight stay. 1 back-in 50 A site left & we got it. Our site was on the outside edge of the park next to single wide mobile homes. Neighbors were friendly and helpful....offered a flashlight for our hooking up at dusk.
This park is in need of lawn/tree maintenance.
Gravel site, level enough with the levelers making it right. FHU. Cable did not work.
Mostly a long term CG/mobile home park. The owners daughter was on duty and was very helpful and accommodating. This was a pleasant experience and we would stay again if in the area.
Very easy access from/to the interstate. We camped at Perkins RV Park in a Motorhome.

Birmingham South Campground, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

1 night stay. They were able to accommodate us with a pull thru so we did not have to unhook our toad. We have a 32' MH & with the toad attached, we used up all the space. Some roads paved, some pea gravel. Sites were pea gravel, level and easy access to FHUs. Trash pu at site.
This is an older campground that appears to be cared for on a daily basis. Our check in was smooth and the attendant was very friendly and helpful.
We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Motorhome.

American Resort & Campground (formerly Mt Olympus Zeus Village Resort), Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Calling this a RV park is a real stretch of the definition. The first site we were assigned was next to a motel building. We would not be able to open our slides on one side (too close to the neighbors) and we would not be able to deploy our awning (it would have hit the building).

We found an open site and returned to the office. They finally agreed to let us have that site. Very poor communications and no knowledge of RVs. There were RVs parked side by side with very little room on black top parking lots...the cheaper sites.

Utilities worked fine. We were there for 3 nights (advance reservations).

Parking and entry to the Mt. Olympus water park were included in the price of the RV site charge but the advertising on the website was very misleading advertising $29. RV sites. When we made reservations and the 3 days came to $150. I questioned the difference and was told "fees".

We would not stay here again. We camped at American Resort & Campground (formerly Mt Olympus Zeus Village Resort) in a Motorhome.

Hy-Land Court RV Park, Ellison Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful, well run, friendly park in the northern part of Door County, WI.
Level, pea gravel sites, grassy yards, spacious sites with a canopy of trees had us at home as soon as we hooked up. Utilities were easy to access & water faucet even had a pressure restrictor on it.
Easy, friendly, helpful staff helped us get settled & gave us a general explanation of what the area had to offer....this was our first time in the area. Very accommodating with the cable hook up. It is necessary to obtain a box and cables from the office...........they will help hook it up.
We will definitely return to Hy-Land for a longer stay. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for a week to attend a RV rally, then 2 weeks later returned for an over night stay. The quoted rate of $18. was PA. The rally cost was more but included the rally facilities. Good facilities for indoor activities, meals, etc. Gravel pull thru sites not very level. There are very few trees and keeping the grass seems to be quite a problem, especially around the sewer connections. Their water/electric posts are set up to service 4 units, so 4 units back in back to back and run hoses around/under RVs to hook up. Sewers were on the opposite side from the pedestals. Route US 151 from I-80 is a concrete road that has no 2 slabs the same height........very rough road. Recommend exiting to US 6 early and seeing some beautiful IA farm country at a slower pace.
The roads in the park are all gravel and in need of grading and leveling. They don't have to post 5 mph signs here. They don't have enough picnic tables so you have to acquire one if you want one. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

1 overnight stop in motorhome. Park has a lot of long term units in it. Roads poorly maintained and our site was not level. No attendant on duty, left the payment in a mail box.

Stayed 4 nights over the 4th of July weekend. 50A, FHU, cable, wifi, picnic table. Rather expensive ..... not a resort although they have a lot of amenities. Gravel interior roads and sites. Roomy pull thru sites. We camped at Camp A Way in a Motorhome.

Branson Treehouse Adventures (formerly Acorn Acres RV Park & Villas), Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park is under new management and there is a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere from the entire staff. FHU, 50A, wifi, cable, concrete patio, picnic table, shaded comfortable site last of June weather.
The tree houses the new owners have built are great for family gatherings. They are so neat and well designed and thought out.
Nicely located between Silver Dollar City and West Branson. Easily accessed with the variety of driving routes available around the busiest part of Branson.

Smith's Fork Campground, Smithville, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park has so much potential but the city management has kept it on the back burner so long, it is loosing ground. They don't do maintenance until "things" are broken. Promises of additional 50A sites are never fulfilled. The 11 50A sites available all have a drainage ditch for a patio yard. The park will not allow converters to be used so 50A units are not allowed to park on 30A sites.

The sites are gravel and not well maintained although most are pretty level.

We camped at this park for 11 years so we have seen the lack of preventive maintenance and improvements first hand.

To reserve a specific site, you must drive to the CG and pay in advance in full. No refunds. No credit cards. No reservations on a website. They are still in the 90s........1890s. We camped at Smith's Fork Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 1 night in motorhome. Rustic, peaceful country setting. FHU gravel sites, not completely level. The cleanliness "good" just means it is not manicured. It is kept up and the new owners are working very hard to fine tune their CG. We camped at Ozark View RV Park in a Motorhome.
