Sweetwater Lake Campground, Saint Matthews, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very pretty lake in a quiet area. Rate reflects dropping $20 into a lockbox. In the off season, you can park parallel to the lake, which is why some folks say this CG has pull-through sites (they don't, actually). Swimming in the lake isn't permitted but all other water activities are OK. Bathhouse/restrooms are pretty sad; think old church campground level of service. Sites are pretty level. Excellent 1 or 2 day campground, but not a destination CG. We will stay here again. We camped at Sweetwater Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Myrtle Beach Travel Park, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects no discounts. A six-day stay gets you the seventh night free. (Actually they had a sign up that if you are 85 or older, the state of SC discounts you 1%. Yay, cant wait!) Killer pool; actually has a circulating "river" that meanders around the outdoor pool. I cant imagine a more friendly staff. If you want shade, there is a pine forest in the back half of the campground. We WILL be staying here again. Excellent atmosphere and the beach is clean here too. We camped at Myrtle Beach Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.
