Campground at Barnes Crossing, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is Good Sam discount. Stayed here at least three times. Very nice staff and easy pull-through sites for nightly guests. No dog-walk. Great for overnight. Close to shopping and restaurants. They had awesome Christmas decor around the park! Our cable did not work this time: think it was a problem with our site only. Caution with a trailer to get a site that does not slope up at the front, making it difficult to level and to unhook and re-hook. Super accommodating! Would definitely stay again. Good WiFi. A dog park would make it a 10! We camped at Campground at Barnes Crossing in a Travel Trailer.

Camp Gulf, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

The good: love the waterfront availability. As they say on their slogan, you can't get any closer. Lots of snowbirds on the upper park and mostly shorter term on the lower. As would be expected, very close quarters. Stayed a week in a site two off from the ocean. Weather was so-so but not the park's fault at all. Close to lots of shopping and restaurants and all the Destin action. Cable TV was great! The bad: WiFi was horrible. On one minute and off the next. They indicated a password was required but never prompted for one? Very discourteous campers that fired up the diesels early (5:30 am) for a half hour prior to leaving. Isn't this a violation of "quiet hours?" Again, not the campground's fault. All in all, liked our stay. Staff was ok but not super friendly. Price was high as would be expected for the location. Would stay here again but would look at other locations also in the Gulf area. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Tent Trailer.

Frog Hollow Campground RV Park, Grenada, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for overnight stop. Friendly office/owner. Pull-thru was easy in/out. Close to freeway and convenient. Some noise, but we do not let that bother us. Quite a few long-term guests, but sites appear pretty well-kept. Would stay here again. We camped at Frog Hollow Campground RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $99.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean clean clean. Close to French Quarter and easy walk to cable cars and other transportation. Felt as safe as would in any city. Took a cab back to park (under $10) after dark. Noise from highway and general area, yes, but you are in the heart of all the action and should be expected. No off-leash dog run but adequate grassy area for pups. Good cable TV and WiFi was sometimes very slow but OK. Pool was clean but did not see anyone use as it was cold out. No camp store at all which would be helpful for at least the basic necessities. Very expensive but in this case you definitely get what you pay for -- close to everything, clean and safe. Would definitely stay again. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hatch RV Park, Corpus Christi, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Park is right in the middle of a neighborhood. Good location to explore Corpus Christi and surrounding area. Small (but long) sites with concrete pads and small concrete patio. With the exception of a few pull-thru sites in center of park, it is full of full-timers. Everything was pretty quiet except for the workers heading out early in the morning. Park is old and very tight, but definitely fit our needs. Extremely friendly checkin! We camped at Hatch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Waco North RV Park, West, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

OK for overnight. Very nice at check-in. Park has lots of deferred maintenance and not much attention to detail. Fenced dog park (a favorite amenity) had overflowing waste can. We camped at Waco North RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cutty's Sunset Camping Resort, Louisville, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

It was fine for our trip to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame (20 minutes away). This park caters to long-term/permanent guests. Our pull-thru site had the sewer at the very front of the site which made it awkward to hook up with a travel trailer. Site was very long so lots of parking in the back once hooked up. Office staff friendly but clearly used to dealing with residents and not overnighters. There is a security gate that you need a code for so call in advance as the office hours appeared to be shorter than some parks. All in all, it was OK and suited our needs for our visit to Canton. We camped at Cutty's Sunset Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.
