Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, quiet and clean park with pull thru and back in sites. Our pull thru site was gravel, level and plenty long for our 42' 5th wheel and truck. Sites are separated by a 20-25' grassy area and shade tree. Nice play area, pool and tent area. Plenty room to walk the dog. Free wi-fi and some OTA channels. Our satellite worked great. Small camp store and friendly service. Just a few miles into town and all the area attractions. Security gate closes at 8pm. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

La Junta KOA, La Junta, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A " no frills" park but is great for an overnight stay. Our pull thru was very level and gravel. We stayed hooked-up but was really just a little short for our 42' fifth wheel. Good free wi-fi and OTA television. Dog park, pool and play area. Walking distance to Walmart. Right off hwy. 50. Friendliest office staff we've ever encountered. We'd stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Peregrine Pines FamCamp (Military FamCamp), US Air Force Academy, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful campground nestled in a pine tree forest. Our gravel pull thru was extra long and level. Lots of space between sites. FHU and picnic table. No wi-fi or cable but we had no problem using our satellite. Weak ATT signal for my cell phone. Lots of room to walk the dog. Great price on propane and friendly staff. Great place to stay and visit all the area attractions. We camped at Peregrine Pines FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Small but adequate commissary and exchange on base. Great visitors center (be sure to watch the film). They will be tearing down the iconic chapel in January so I am glad we visited now. The reconstruction of the chapel will take 3-5 years.

Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp), F. E. Warren AFB, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have a 42' 5th wheel and had no trouble coming thru Gate 1 ( which is the gate the campground office tells you to come in ). The directions given to the park were perfect plus the signage on base is excellent. The roads are gravel but no problem negotiating our rig to the campground. There are a variety of type and sizes of sites. Some back-in sites are small but we had a pull thru that was plenty long and there is a grass island between you and the site next door. The campground is nestled in a wildlife area so you see a lot of antelope and rabbits. There is an occasional train and a few helicopters, but overall very quiet. The park is clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Small but adequate commissary and exchange close by. Free wi-fi that actual works. Great place to stay and visit nearby attractions. We actually extended our stay several days because we liked it so much here. If you need fancy facilities, lots of amenities, concrete pads, etc., this isn't the park for you. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Douglas KOA, Douglas, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and quiet campground located in a rural area. Our gravel pull thru was long enough to stay hooked-up but our neighbor was very close on one side. Nice dog park and horse corral. Cabins and nice tent area. FHU, free wi-fi ( but I couldn't get connected), cable is extra but our satellite worked fine. Fulltimers/workers are in a seperate area. Was a good place for an overnight stay. We camped at Douglas KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

It's all about location, location, location. This park is at the entrance gate to Devils Tower. The tower welcome center is 3 miles up the park road. The campground is large with a variety of sites. Our grass back-in was pretty short for our 5th wheel but there was a place beside us for our truck. Also had to be careful of low tree branches. But we were right in front of the tower with only an open field between us. FHU but no wi-fi or cable and no OTA channels. Pool area and dog park. Nice store in campground office. Huge tent area, cabins and even wigwam tents. Was pricey but the view was worth every penny. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Ellsworth AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Had some problem with directions to the park but the office staff they were in process of correcting the issue. Park has two sections. Older part is in several wagon wheels with all back-in sites. Our site was not really long enough for our 42' 5th wheel and truck and there was a tree blocking part of the site in the back. The newer section is all pull thru. All sites have concrete pads, patio, table and grill. FHU, free wi-fi ( sporadic), no cable but satellite worked fine and got quite a few OTA channels. Small but adequate commissary and exchange. Base gas station did have diesel Bowling alley, golf, theater are all on base and a nice air museum ( free!) right outside the main gate. This was a good location for seeing all the area sites. We camped at Ellsworth AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Small no frills campground that is clean and right off the Interstate. Behind the Super 8 Motel. No problem with road noise but construction was going on in front of the motel and park entrance. FHU were ok but sewer does stick up fairly high. Our pull thru was plenty long, gravel and level. No patio but sites have a fire ring and picnic table. Free wi-fi and cable box ( but we just watched the two OTA channels). Nice shade trees. Good for an overnight stop or to visit the Corn Palace. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yankton / Missouri River KOA, Yankton, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest KOA we have stayed. Clean and well maintained. We had a long level pull thru gravel site with a patio, picnic table and firepit. Nice og park and great play area for kids. Cabin rental also available. Nice pool area. We did have to use an extension on our electric cord. Free wi-fi. Cable also available but we just used OTA and picked up 25 channels. Very quiet. Dirt road entrance is a little rough but otherwise is a great park. We camped at Yankton / Missouri River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful campground located on a 113 acre lake. Campstore has snacks, drinks, fishing supplies, bike rentals and lake equipment. Very nice park with long, level, concrete, pull thru sites. Picnic table and fire ring at each site. Catch and release pond, play area, tornado shelters and an awesome fitness trail. Coffee Creek RV Resort, Santo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park for an overnight stay. Located right off I-20 with easy access. Sites are gravel, level and long enough to stayed hooked up with our 42' 5th wheel. The sites are a little close together and there is no shade, so probably summer here would be hot. Tiny patio at each site but no picnic table. Free cable and wi-fi. Dog park was fine and a small playground area. Quite a full fulltime residents but most sites were clean and well kept. We would stay here again if passing thru the area and needed an overnight stop. We camped at Coffee Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Amazing COE park located on Lake Waco. Our back-in site was over 90' long, asphalt and level with FHU.. Nice gravel patio, gazebo, fire ring and picnic table. Lots of space between sites with nice shade. Marina close by and beach area. Boat ramp located in park itself. Lots of picnic areas. Beautiful sunset. Great location to visit all the Waco an surrounding sites. Picked up over 20 channels with our antenna and our satellite worked great. We can't wait to come back!
