Basswood Resort, Platte City, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were a late arrival, but the staff were very understanding and had everything arranged ahead. We were a little surprised at the hill going into the campground. The campground was well organized, super clean and our site was a pull thru. There was a great pet area and lots of room to walk one's dog. We camped at Basswood Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We discovered this RV park because we were attending an HDT rally. We had a camper issue and the staff were very helpful and assisted us in our need to remain 3 more days. They were also helpful in regards to scheduling the recreation room for rally activities. We camped at Ambassador RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A small but clean park. The staff are super and definitely interested in your well being. They make chocolate cookies daily for new arrivals to the park; but will let longer termers have a 2 cookie packet now and then. We were here during their office transition and the park management worked hard to pull it together. The work hosts, who just happened to be like us -a big rig owner, were great people persons. They were interested in the individual camper and their site and the park in general. Frequently he would go above and beyond in his duties. The whole park crew was outgoing and friendly. Overall it was a great place to stay. Sometimes a little noisy because it is close to the interstate. There are shopping communities and restaurants close by or within a short driving distance. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay at this park. It was very clean and well organized. Great pull thru sites for big rigs. It felt very safe and secure with the closed gate. The pool area was clean and well enjoyed. We were impressed with the staff and the information they were able to provided; one of the services that really impressed us was that they allowed washing and waxing campers in the park. This is a great service. The other thing that impressed us was the fact that three times a day they did trash pick up at the sites or one could walk to the multiple well located pails. The doggie park is well laid out and provides good security and safety for the dogs. A very enjoyable park, will definitely stay again. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Country Place RV Park, Conroe, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Because of our length of stay we were able to get a monthly rate which was great; we did however have to pay our own electric and provide a $150.00 deposit on arrival. The park has different level of sites but all have power, water and sewage. Some sites are just gravel with grass, some are two concrete strips for parking the camper and some are actually paved. There is a pool (too cold during our stay), a well supplied fitness room for adults, a laundry area with 4 of each, lots of books for exchange and a wide selection of DVD that can be rented ($1.00 when we were there). It is a gated park which adds to the secure feeling. The full timers are friendly and neighborly. The office does accept mail and packages on your behalf and even delivers them when the office closes at six. They have bingo and game activities and monthly potluck dinners. We camped at Country Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The community of Cut-N-Shoot has an interesting history, it is less than 2 miles away with the bare necessities. Conroe is more cosmopolitan and is about 8 miles away with a variety of shopping and food services. Houston is about an hour drive away.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Easy access, large pull thru site used, great one way streets. Park area was clean and well maintained. Citrus fruit trees throughout the park and guest were able to pick some fruit. Staff super friendly. Spent time over Thanksgiving and were invited to Thanksgiving Lunch provided by park staff- guests were able to contribute dishes if they wished. Great environment. Situated behind a hotel but was quiet and private. Walking distance to local casino and convenient store. Comfortable short drive to town for shopping. Great area. Although the site were very large, we did disconnect our 5th wheel since we tow with a HDT-parking was available. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bismarck KOA, Bismarck, North Dakota

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

.Stayed for approximately 2 weeks. Most parks shut down in the area on Oct 31.This KOA is year round and they truck in city water when they shut off the normal city water supply around the 10th of November. At that time public showers and restrooms are closed as well, laundry remains open as does the office (shorter hours and Monday -Friday only) Good location, friendly staff, clean organized park. We camped at Bismarck KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

A Prairie Breeze RV Park, Menoken, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off I-94, great pull thru lots, clean showers, would be nice to have a larger laundry area but the equipment works well and area is clean. A lot of park families are long timers. Park is clean and quiet especially at night. Occasionally you can hear a distant train-but not hourly. Self registration is a unique idea but the owner will assist as needed when called. We initially had to take a 30 amp site but where promised a 50 amp site upon availability which was followed thru. You do face your neighbor-one camper pulls in from one direction and the next from the opposite direction. We camped at A Prairie Breeze RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Jones RV Park, Norcross, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We had a short stay of 3 nights. Easy access, lots of speed bumps which kept park traffic slow. Grassy areas on perimeter to walk dog and baggies and cans were posted for picking up after your dog. For the size of the park it was relatively quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again if needed. We camped at Jones RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Be aware that you pull off the ramp when traveling north/ west and its almost an immediate turn into campgrounds. Great little campgrounds for overnight or a short stay. Very clean, well set up for pull thru site- no sewer hook up but dump station is available. Great view and fresh air. We stayed overnight. Staff courteous and very friendly. Twin Lakes Camping Resort, Chocowinity, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We were not impressed! We have stayed before under different management and although new management is trying, it is a long way from good. Lots are very close, ranging from sunny/open exposures to some shade. Site surface is a concrete pad with dirt, sand and grass. There is a picnic table.

When we arrived, we had advised them of a 3-4 month stay. When we went to pay for our third month, we had been advised that the site had been rented out to someone else the next day. Initially an alternative site was not offered but after some strong words and 6 hours later, we were given a different site and an apologetic discount for the inconvenience. (This was the Thursday of the July 4th weekend-just try finding another park.)

We were religiously forgotten for sewer pump outs, even though regularly added to the list.

We also found out that we were moved because a full timer on the hill (permanent sites) complained about the noise of the truck (HDT) and really wanted us gone from the park. New management does not run the park. The hill residents on Paradise Island do, as well as the maintenance manager who oversees the pumping, etc.

The weekly Saturday night DJ or Band is a little noisey. Much better when it is once a month. Some full timers actually go elsewhere for Saturday night so they can sleep.

The store staff and housekeeping staff are great. Still major flooding with lots of rain.

This park is not friendly to HDTs (converted tractor trailer type trucks for pulling 5th wheels). Will not return: will park at Walmart first. We camped at Twin Lakes Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
