North Ranch - Escapees Rainbow Park, Congress, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

It's not a luxury park, but I gave it a 10 (excellent). It won't wow you with anything, but everything is as it should be. The workers were all very friendly and helpful. The fellow guests were nice. Someone here complained about the train, I just don't get that. It took me a few days to realize there was a train track in the area, and my hearing is fine.

Many of the snowbirds here are hobbyist gold miners. You might talk one into taking you with them for a day, who knows. There are also quite a few guys with UTVs who go out into the desert, but there is NO racing around inside the park. Everything is peaceful.

The value for the money is very good. We did however get the Escapees member rate. If you are going to stay for a week like we did, joining the Escapees pays for itself and quite a bit more.

It is about 15 minutes from downtown Wickenburg. But it's an easy drive. We would definitely go back, possibly for a longer stay. We camped at North Ranch - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

White Spar Campground, Prescott, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

An older review mentioned theft concerns. We saw several campers leaving their stuff unattended, with no issues. Sites are generally level side to side, but often have minor to moderate slope from front to back. It's a very nice setting, with good hiking trails. Close to town, convenient. Our rate was the winter rate, when the water spigots are turned off. We camped at White Spar Campground in a Motorhome.

Tonto National Forest / Houston Mesa Campground, Payson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Poor value for the money. In March, the shower was shut down. The dump station is out of order. Sites are tightly vegetated in many cases. Right next to a town highway and its noise. Does not compare well at all to an AZ state park dry camping site for the same or less money. We camped at Tonto National Forest / Houston Mesa Campground in a Motorhome.

Anastasia State Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice beach. The CG itself is clean, and is divided into several small loops. Sites are pretty isolated and heavily enclosed by vegetation. So, you don't see much activity. If you want to camp in tight private quarters, this is a good place. I'd rather see some open spaces and activity. Your mileage may vary. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

Blue Spring State Park, Orange City, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

It is clean, but there isn't much wow factor for being a state park. There is a spring which flows into the river, and manatees do spend the winters there, we're told. You can float in the upper part of the spring run. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

Al Sihah Shriners' RV Park, Macon, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

I could just cut and paste everything written by the previous reviewer. Just a big grassy field, off level. It is secured by a gate and caretaker, and is quiet, and you have some hookups, so in that respect it's better than parking at a truck stop or something. But we would not return. If we are going to spend money, we might as well spend enough to get a decent rv park. We paid the PA rate. We camped at Al Sihah Shriners' RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cordele RV Camping, Cordele, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Worst CG we've ever stayed at, in general. Even if you get past the run down condition: Electrical pedestals are scary bad. Voltage dropped to dangerous levels if two power appliances were used at the same time. Supposed to be a Passport America member park, but they charged the same to us with our PA card as they show on the wall for all over night stays. We camped at Cordele RV Camping in a Motorhome.

Southern Oaks RV Resort, Summerfield, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $21.00

Rate was PA, with tax. The grounds are sort of basic, but for an overnight it was just fine. There is a nice clubhouse and pool. We camped at Southern Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Camping World RV Sales of Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Tennessee

Perfectly good overnight stop. Very level, long sites, but they are quite close together for the most part. Tall pines throughout. No wifi, although you can get it by the store. We camped at Camping World RV Sales of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.
