St. Cloud / Clearwater RV Park, Clearwater, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Tight interior road corners and short pull thrus for big rigs over 43' long. Once in a site, can't get out unless your neighbor moves to assist you. They need to trim the trees. Handy location near I-94 and truck stop services at exit 178. Staff is helpful and friendly. We camped at St. Cloud / Clearwater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Country Campground, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Nice setting and landscaping in the country. Large rigs need to watch for the narrow entrance gate and drive, but otherwise well laid out park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Have TV service if you ask for a special station, but does not have cable or satellite TV service. Watch sewer hook ups to make sure they allow coach to drain down hill. Water and sewage does not run up hill. Will definitely come back to this park. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Adventureland Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $22.00

Although there are low places that collect water after a hard rain, the campground is one of the better values in the upper midwest. Excellent park for big rigs that are towing. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

Excellent park for short stay while traveling I-70 between KC and St Louis. Close to truck stop and groceries. Easy in and easy out traffic pattern. Good big rig sites and pull thru sites. Allows rig washing for $5 on all gravel sites. We camped at Great Escape RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Petoskey KOA, Petoskey, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Not a big rig park. Over rated at 10-10-10. A very neat park for travel trailers and shorter rigs. I was assigned a site that required I back out and then turn into a hillside to make the exit road. Very well maintained for smaller rigs with excellent landscaping. We camped at Petoskey KOA in a Motorhome.

Newberry Campground (formerly Newberry KOA), Newberry, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

No sewer hookups. Not a good layout for a big rig over 40 feet in length. Island in entry way makes park entry difficult. Can't see entrance sign very well coming from the West. Not what one would expect from a KOA. We camped at Newberry Campground (formerly Newberry KOA) in a Motorhome.

Moorhead Fargo Campground , Moorhead, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2006 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The gravel road to this park is very long, very dirty and very rough. This road makes this park a very poor location for a diesel big rig. Until the road is fixed, we will not return. We camped at Moorhead Fargo Campground in a Motorhome.
