JBSA Fort Sam Houston RV Park (Military FamCamp), Fort Sam Houston Army Post, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay here. Because of other issues, we arrived after dark. Finding the rv park in the dark is not good. Fortunately another camper saw our dilemma and led us into the park and even to our site. We can't express how grateful we are for their help. What a great park! The sites are concrete with about 20' of grass between each site. Plenty of room for our 45' with tow. Great day and weekend staff. We even scored on donuts on Sunday. Someone commented about no wifi except at the office, when I found out what the cost would be for the park, I now understand why it isn't available. We have our own hotspot so this wasn't an issue for us. Finally, there are trains that go through frequently, so be aware there can be noise at night. Not a major issue for us but could be for others. We will come back, the next time we are in the San Atonio area. We camped at JBSA Fort Sam Houston RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This was a quick overnight stay on our way home. the site was okay given no one was on either side of us. There appeared to be a number permanent residents but not an issue. I used their Wi-Fi and it worked okay. we would probably stay here again if the need arose. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

we stayed here for one night. I was told that this was a good sam rate but it seems to be the normal rate. My only problem with the site was the electrical being at the far rear as you entered. I had to extend our electrical cable to its fullest and even then our tow vehicle stuck out about 3 ft. Since this was a slow season, there wasn't much traffic so it was okay. other than this, this was a nice overnight stop. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Homolovi Ruins State Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before but not in cold weather. The water was turned off at each site. Also, the ruts in the roads really shake our RV causing us to drive about 5-10 mph throughout the park area. Based on all of this, we will not be staying here again. We camped at Homolovi Ruins State Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Mason City Park, Mason, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

this was our second stay at this park but our first with our new RV. plenty of room for 45' with our tow. good Wi-Fi but forget TV without a satellite. Watching the deer and other wildlife every evening was a plus. The camp hosts were definitely friendly and professional. We will come back again sometime next year. We camped at Fort Mason City Park in a Motorhome.

Abilene KOA, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The site given to us was between two full timers and was a Jack and Jill setup. The site was so narrow that when we put out our slides there was about 14" clearance with the trailer slide on our driver side. The other site on the passenger side was permanently setup so that we could not sit outside. The picnic tables were in sad shape. in fact, in front of our site was a pile of old dilapidated tables. There were some other sites that appeared better than the one given to us. Even when we had difficulty maneuvering into the site a KOA individual just watched us with no offer to find a better site. We made reservations in advance and stated that we had 45' motorhome with a tow. We paid for two nights with a special half rate for the second night. We would never come back given our bad experience. We camped at Abilene KOA in a Motorhome.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for three nights. The other reviews are right on. This is a great campground. The trash was picked up from each site daily. The cable TV was okay but spotty at times same for the WiFi. The site was long enough for our RV and toad. Nice covered patio with wood rockers, grill and fire ring. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mesa Verde RV Park, Wolfforth, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a shakedown of our RV which had been in storage and maintenance at a local RV dealer. Right after checking in, we found that we had a water leak. We had to leave and return our RV to the dealer for correction. The staff was very cooperative and gave us credit to return for another night. We did four days later and found the park to be extremely clean and well maintained, with a good dog run. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Park in a Motorhome.

Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp), Nellis AFB, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is definitely one of the nicest RV parks we have stayed at. Every thing here was first class. A staff member led us to our site. There are concrete pads with various trees and bushes. Good entrance briefing about all services available. Excellent Wi-Fi. We had good TV reception using our antennae except for 3 stations. We will definitely return when we come to Vegas again. We camped at Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

We just stayed here for one night. We stayed in the new section which was okay for a big RV with our tow vehicle. Met our needs and we would come back again. We camped at Kirtland AFB FamCamp in a Motorhome.

La Vedara RV Park, Lamesa, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

What a difference a few months makes. We stayed here last December and our stay was okay. Now this park is over crowded with full timers and few spaces for overnighters . The $30 price is Good Sam. For that you get no Wi-Fi or cable. We were only able to get one channel using our digital antenna. I don't think we will ever return. We camped at La Vedara RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bottomless Lakes State Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for three nights. We originally reserved a pull-through site on line. However the reservable sites only have 30 amp service. Note: there are large 2-foot high rocks that make leaving a site somewhat difficult. Be careful in these sites. The campground host was very helpful and allowed us to move to a 50 amp site. The site was tight for our 44' but it was pull-through and we parked our toad next to it. Good Wi-Fi. We would stay here again if in this area. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Rocker D RV Ranch, Mineral Wells, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight after picking up our new RV. We chose this campground based on earlier positive reviews. The reviews were right on. This is a very nice campground with very easy access for our 45' rig with a tow. We were not able to pick up any worthwhile TV channels just using our antennae but that wasn't a major issue. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in this area. We camped at Rocker D RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Lost Alaskan RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here three nights while visiting various local attractions. This is a very nice RV park with good facilities. I wasn't sure what the differences were in the sites but the $cost even with the Good Sam discount seemed high given that others paid a lower price. There was a RV wash area that we didn't use but was a nice touch. My wife liked how quiet the park was. We would return if ever in this area again. We camped at Lost Alaskan RV Park in a Motorhome.
