Elwha Dam RV Park, Port Angeles, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were in back in spot #20 which was nice and roomy for our party. there was only 1 neighbor (a full timer) that wasn't there the entire weekend. The campground was nice and clean. Although our space was roomy, a look at many of the other spaces specifically, the pull throughs seemed to be pretty tight. I marked down for no cable TV and the WiFi which was horribly slow and frequently not available. This park makes a good base camp for touring the northwest side of the area. Peaceful and quiet at night. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA, Winthrop, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

One of the better KOAs we have stayed in. Sites are level and grassy. Gravel roads but nice and smooth. Plenty of space to maneuver rig around. Right along the Methow River. Have a free shuttle to downtown Winthrop. Employees are nice and Wi-Fi connection is acceptable. Would rate a 9 or 10 except no Cable TV. I highly recommend and will be returning. We camped at Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sun Lakes Park Resort, Coulee City, Washington

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We camped during the opening weekend of fishing season and the campground was totally full. Spots were nice and level, access around campground was good, and the check in process was quick. This campground has good amenities, a nice store, and a nice concession areas. Great boat launch, swimming area, and good fishing from the dock. It was a little noisy in the evenings but for it being full, we were impresses that everyone was relativley well mannered. Would rate higher but not cable or wi-fi. Also do not allow fires unless you provide your own portable fire put and fire is up off the ground. Very good open areas for sattelite reception if it is needed. We camped at Sun Lakes Park Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Cannon Beach RV Resort, Cannon Beach, Oregon

Overall Rating:

A great Park. We will be back again. It is well kept and clean. The zites were level and easy to maneuver. Off season rates were great. There was a good Wi-Fi connection at the site. The cable has 70 channels. It is only about a 1/2 mile walk to the beach and close to downtown Cannon Beach. We camped at Cannon Beach RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pioneer Trails RV Resort , Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground with well kept grounds. Had a back in site, but the roads were wide enough to maneuver easily with a 35ft fiver. Large variety of sites available to suit anyone's needs. Owners were very nice and helpful. Not sure if Satellite service would work here as there are lots of trees. Would have rated higher except that roads are dirt which made things a little muddy driving around at times. Wi-Fi service was spotty depending on the time of day. Sometimes was quick other times very slow. Other thing was that I was told my site was 50 amp and when I got all set up found that it was 30 amp. Not a big deal but wanted to point it out. Overall, this is one of the best campgrounds I have ever stayed in and I will be back over and over again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

DeSoto Resort State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with nice large sites. We stayed in the pull through sites, all of which are paved and fairly level. Back in sites are large and also fairly level. There are about 12 full hookup pull through sites and 10 back in full hookup sites. All remaining sites have water and electric. Campground staff was friendly and campground is protected by a gate that only allows registered guests to enter. We really enjoyed the campground and will be back again. We camped at DeSoto Resort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cherokee / Great Smokies KOA, Cherokee, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Typical KOA with nice amenities. We paid for a premium site which was simply a concrete pad that was no bigger than the other sites in the campground. First site had trees on both sides and had to ask for another site so we could extend awning. Roads are very narrow and people tend to park along the sides of the road. Makes it almost impossible to get into your site without asking someone to move their vehicle. We were there on a holiday weekend and the place was packed. We normally enjoy KOA's but found this one to be too crowded for our taste and, in my opinion, over priced as well. Will likely not return to this KOA. We camped at Cherokee / Great Smokies KOA in a Travel Trailer.
