Falling Waters Campsite, Falling Waters, West Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay in a 40' MH; luckily we were put in one of the upper hill sites which was a pull-thru, on gravel, and fairly level. WiFi was non-existent and cable TV required a box; we could only get 1 channel OTA but since this was for 1 night it was OK. Staff very friendly but entrance to park office was not easy to find and had to drive over a rutted, steep drive. For the accommodations, it was a tad pricey. We camped at Falling Waters Campsite in a Motorhome.

Sunrise RV Park, Texarkana, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

nicely laid out park right beside I-30, however, directions in were a little iffy! Road said 'no trucks...no outlet'; had to call to be sure we were on right road. Needs better signage. Also, entrance to the park was a disaster! Full of big pot holes. Would return to park if they fixed the road! Very good Wifi, cable was not working very well. We camped at Sunrise RV Park in a Motorhome.

Midland RV Campground, Midland, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

fairly large pull-thru sites. Very good Wifi & cable. Hosts extremely nice, went out of their way to assure us a site on a holiday w/e. Sites gravel but level. Our site looked out onto a scrap metal pile but otherwise the campground was very nicely landscaped. Need to follow directions given by campground, then very easy to find. First time here but would stay here again. We camped at Midland RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Anthony/El Paso West KOA (formerly American RV & Marine Resort & Rally, Anthony, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

campground is behind Camping World on large flat, tree-less area. Sites are large & level. Wonderful view, but windy as is all of this area. Good WiFi, good OTA TV, 3 sewer connections so you can take your pick. Very close to El Paso. We would stay here again, although it is pricy (as all KOA are) for a 1 night stay. I-10 is currently undergoing a HUGE reconstruction and many in-town roads are detoured or closed! We camped at Anthony/El Paso West KOA (formerly American RV & Marine Resort & Rally in a Motorhome.

Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort, El Centro, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based on 3 PA days & 7 GS discounts. Very active park with a great all-you-can-eat-Friday fish fry. Very good. Some sites not large enough for large rigs due to trees, but staff quickly gave us a different site. Staff very nice. Cable and very good WiFi are free. Only bad point is, you have to buy a $5 laundry card. I have done this before and you are unable to get money back. Very poor system. Did laundry in town on 12th St. at a great place. We camped at Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Only 1 1/2 hrs from San Diego. Would NOT suggest a visit to Mexicali (very dirty and run down) but Algadones, in Mexico, is only 45 miles away and a great place to shop & eat.

88 Shades RV Park, Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park off Main St, has some trees; some sites are tight but ours was large; next door to a couple of dumpy RV parks, but this one is clean & new owner very nice. Cable TV but limited channels; WiFi iffy but free Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cotton Lane RV & Golf Resort (55+ park), Goodyear, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly park with huge, almost double sites where we were. Great laundry with industrial washer/dryer. OTA TV with good reception; pay for WiFi; trash bins close by. Very quiet park with some park models. New ownership and rumor is that they want to go to all park models. We liked campground and would stay here again. Only complaint is, it is on west of Phoenix, most places we wanted to visit were on east side & traffic very heavy. We camped at Cotton Lane RV & Golf Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet, small campground 30 miles from Phoenix. Large gravel, level sites. Friendly staff, nice laundry, so-so Wifi, great OTA TV. In middle of desert with great walking area & star gazing. Very clean park, nicely landscaped, with lots of improvement work going on. Would certainly stay here again. We camped at Wild West Ranch and RV Resort (formerly John Wayne RV Ranch) in a Motorhome.

Lost Alaskan RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Overall Rating:

Wonderful, semi-wooded campground right in heart of Alpine. Staff friendly, esp. the Maine couple!!! Sites large & although gravel, were very level. Good Wifi and cable TV. Would definitely recommend this campground. We spent a week here touring the area and Big Bend NP. We camped at Lost Alaskan RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

30 miles from Marfa which is a great town to visit. Alpine is also an interesting town and Visitors Center has a walking & Driving map of the town. Don't miss the Museum of the Big Bend, a free museum on the Sul Ross State University in Alpine. Great eating at Come & Take It BBQ...but get there early before it's all gone. About 100 miles from Big Bend NP, either from Alpine or Marathon, both offering different views

Alsatian Resort & Golf Club, Castroville, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful, paved, large pull-thru sites. A little pricey for an overnight stay but we took the last site, which was a deluxe site. Wifi good, did have cable TV but OTA came in better. We camped at Alsatian Resort & Golf Club in a Motorhome.

Wonderful, quiet, campground a short way off I-10. The owner, is VERY pleasant & helpful. Campground in wooded area & very quiet. Only 14 sites but all are staggered to give privacy, on cement pads & with lovely picnic tables. No cable but OTA reception is very good...also EXCELLENT Wifi service. Pecan Park RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

large, clean campground with few trees and is under an airport so is noisy. Have used campground as a pass-thru spot many times in the past. This year they have gone way up on price, more than services warrant. Had cable TV & advertised Wifi, however, could not connect to Internet at any time of the day or late night. For price, will not stay here again. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA), Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Do not usually stay at KOA because of the high cost bit we were here only as a layover...our site did not have sewer so price was good. Sites large and campground very nicely laid out. Close to Staunton and historic sites. Excellent cable and Wifi. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.
