Evergreen Park, Dundee, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here annually and always enjoy the campground. From a warm welcome upon arrival to a clean and well run operation. My only issue is the Wi-Fi cuts in and out. Our price included a Good Sam discount. We camped at Evergreen Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Logan / Hocking Hills KOA , Logan, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is the real deal! Family oriented atmosphere with required wristbands to limit unauthorized visitors, no alcohol, and Sunday morning church service. Camp sites are on large lots. My rating would be a 10 but the sites are hard to get level. Plenty of planned activities. Owners are friendly and seen often. Strong and consistent Wi-Fi signal. Our nightly rate included full hook-ups. Plenty to do in the area if you like hiking. We plan on returning soon. We camped at Logan / Hocking Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pleasant View Recreation , Van Buren, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This campgrounds is about 75-80% permanent campers and then the rest of us camp in a converted dusty parking lot, all stone no grass. The pluses are the location near the interstate, gate security, and strong consistent Wi-Fi signal. The minuses are the constant golf carts operated by permenant campers, many of them screaming loudly and openly drinking alcohol and the small sites. I believe this is their first year as a KOA franchise. I doubt they'll have it too long unless some KOA expectations and standards are put into place. We only stayed here because we had business in a nearby city. We camped at Pleasant View Recreation in a Fifth Wheel.

Evergreen Park, Dundee, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here annually and once again it is the cleanest and best campgrounds in the Midwest. We like to watch and talk to people who are visiting for their first time. They are in shock about how nice this place is. This year we forgot a grocery item. I went to the camp store and they were out. The nice woman in the office when and got me some from the office kitchen at no cost. Our price included a Good Sam discount. We camped at Evergreen Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wapakoneta KOA, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Everything you would expect from a KOA and then some. The staff was some of the friendliest I've ever met. Even though the park was full for holiday weekend, by the second day they were calling you by your first name and knew your site number. Everything was clean and up to date. WiFi worked fine all weekend including unlimited use. Plenty of cable TV channels. Some of the full service sites are tight and narrow so I'd suggest making reservations early for premium sites if needing full service. We'll be back to this one. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Evergreen Park, Dundee, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best of the best modern campgrounds. Easy to find and exceeded in all expectations except their WiFi was inconsistent. This campgrounds is three years old and still looks brand new. Long paved sites with plenty of room for slide outs and awning. The indoor pool, hot tub, and game room were a big hit for our family. We are already planning our next trip back to Evergreen. We camped at Evergreen Park in a Motorhome.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from interstate and friendly/helpful check-in process are about the best comments for this CG. Really surprised there were no planned activities for Independence Day weekend. To no fault of the owner/manager, they've rec'd a lot of rain so plenty of standing water, mud, run-off at site and throughout grounds. The pool was good size. Not much else in the Indy area and we drove past the nearest competition and were not impressed. Mainly due to the weather and lack of any planned activities we left halfway thru the weekend. My next trip will be better planned so my overnight stay is either in Dayton or St. Louis. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice size lots with mature trees. Friendly staff upon arrival. Easy access from the interstate. We only stayed overnight and unfortunately it rained hard during most of our visit so we couldn't evaluate the park objectively. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Joplin KOA, Joplin, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

An older park run by a friendly family, situated across from a large truck stop and beside a semi truck repair shop. Better then average signage and direction from the interstate. Sites offer a variety of sizes and amount of shade. Utilities are all up to date and working. The pool is starting to show its age. Only passing through one night and thought $40 was on the high end. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

A really neat campgrounds with plenty of activities for the family. Indoor pool and hot tub along with large modern game room all in one building. Beautiful craft store on site for spouse and within walking distance to Gander Mountain. Grounds include a stocked fishing pond and beautiful water stream throughout the park. Sites are large and divided be a small privacy fence about waist high. Staff gave extra attention to detail to include their GPS coordinates in confirmation email knowing the GPS address was incorrect. We camped at Fort Amarillo RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Campgrounds is only a few years old and still looks and feels brand new. Sparkling restrooms and a helpful staff make this experience an excellent choice for camping. Campers get full resort privileges next door at the lodge/hotel. Nightly price is an approximate fee since we booked a package deal which included the round trip train ride to the Canyon. We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Salt Lake City KOA, Salt Lake City, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pull thru sites are paved with adjacent gravel pad for vehicle parking. Sites are separated by well maintained grass. Nice size pool and hot tub. We stay at a lot of KOA Kampgrounds, and this is the first one I recall not being escorted to our site especially since three yellow shirt workers were sitting on the golf cart at the entrance. We were not greeted until we got inside. No problem, but not the norm for a KOA. The campground is located in a metro / industrial area close to the airport. Noise was not an issue and being close to the interstate was helpful. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort), Moran, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A potentially relaxing campground seemed a bit overrated for the price. We saw workers constantly cleaning out the fire pits daily and regularly attending to the restrooms/shower facility. Unfortunately the mosquitos were so bad that we could not do anything outside at our site. Only 20 amp electric available. We camped at Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

To nobody's fault, campground had a water line break during our stay. Park officials left several notes on our camper updating the status of the water main break. They even turned the water on for 15 minutes each evening so we could fill our fresh water tank. Our site was only average with a large tree on our site that we could not open our awning or walk from our door to our vehicle. Had to walk around back of camper and along road side of camper to get to vehicle. We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.
