This park is listed in the Good Sam parks book, but we were told they haven't belonged to GS for 12 years. Bathrooms and showers were closed to the public. Owner's brother checked us in. He told us that the residents are mostly pipe line workers and he thinks that's why the bathrooms and showers are closed. She had trouble keeping them clean. He was friendly and the park is decent looking.

I-35 RV Park

Waco, Texas

Date of Stay:

At first we thought this park was a little expensive for a one-night stay. Then we were told about the free breakfast buffet. When we went to check it out, it was wonderful. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, coffee, juice. This would have cost $20 for the two of us, so that makes the camping $10! What a deal. We have been here before and we will definitely stop here again.

This park was a little difficult to find, but is very pretty setting. Lots of trees around, which makes TV reception a little iffy. For the price, I thought we should get cable TV and free internet, as well as a sewer on site. The only bathrooms within the park are pit toilets and the woman's was filthy. Hadn't been touched in a long time. Showers located at or near the restaurant, so we didn't use them at all. We are here for a wedding, so doubt we will ever be back here. If we are, I would look for a different campground. It's very pleasant and the sites are lovely, however.

According to our new Passport America book, the PA rate here is $13.75 and there are 4 "comfort stations". We arrived on a day when it had been raining all day. The sites were full of mud puddles and ruts. The lady at check in informed me the price had gone up. Yup, from $13.75 to $20.20! Then we discovered the showers/bathrooms (comfort stations) were not open yet. She said the water had just been turned on. Yikes. There is no cable TV, but we got 19 channels with our converter box. The internet is iffy, at best, and when I called the office, the lady knew absolutely nothing about it. There is a lake here and many amenities for families. I'm sure on a sunny day we would have been impressed with it. The setting is quite lovely. We just stayed at another PA for $15 that had this place beat all to heck. Guess we are spoiled. Might check this place out again on a sunny day, or not.

We have stayed here on several occasions when going back and forth from Wisconsin to Texas. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sites are gravel but level. Only complaint is the sites given to short stays are extremely close. The rest of the park sites appear to be a bit roomier. WIFI is easy to connect to and works very well. No extra charge for it either. Our rate was the Passport America rate. A definite bargain.

Units are really crammed in here, but for a few days stay, it's tolerable. The reason I gave such a low rating is only because of the vile-tasting and smelling water! It has such a strong chlorine smell and taste I thought I was in the swimming pool! Staff is friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi is not the fastest, but works ok.

We stayed here for 3 days so we could go to Memphis. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was available but a little pricey, I thought - $12 for 24 hours. Clean and well-kept sites. Didn't use the laundry. Would come back here if in the area.

We originally planned on staying here for 3 days so we could tour the area. We liked it so much we stayed a week and commuted back and forth to Branson. Everything is clean and even with gravel sites it was easy to level the motorhome. No cable TV, but didn't even have to raise the antenna to get crisp clear digital service of all major networks. Owner gave us a jar of his wife's strawberry preserves. We used the laundry room and the machines are new and do a good job. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

This is our 2nd stay here. There is access to the area ATV trails, which is why we come. It's a newer campground, a little on the rustic side, not much grass. Gravel roads throughout. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. We probably wouldn't stay here for more than 3 or 4 days at a time. TV reception is terrible, and there's nothing to do if you don't like to 4-wheel. We will go back again.

Date of Stay:

This is a wonderful little park if you like to 4-wheel, fish or just look at Lake Superior. Lots of dogs barking during the day, but couldn't hear them at night. We generally come here every summer or early fall to do some 4-wheeling. This year we stayed a whole week. There is a wi-fi coffee shop in town.

Strange little park. Owners had sold and were done at end of the month, but they were very friendly and tried to be helpful. Only one of the two showers in ladies bathroom was working. We stayed a week and were able to get a little break on the price, which was nice. Park is advertised as Passport America park, but it isn't. Perhaps the new owners will enroll again. Other residents there were friendly. We liked it, and if in that area again, would definitely stop.

We accidentally stumbled onto this place after dark and had to beg (literally) to be allowed to stay. It is evidently a "members only" resort. In the morning we saw it is in a gorgeous setting, built on several levels, so walking is a challenge if you have any disabilities. We were unaware of any of the amenities, due to the lateness of our arrival. The people we saw before checking out the next day were very friendly. We were glad to find a safe spot to spend the night, but definitely wouldn't stay here again.

Date of Stay:

This was a very nice park, well-maintained and extremely friendly staff. Free cable and free Wi-Fi. We booked a Gray Tour of Nashville through the staff, and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We did our laundry here. Very clean laundry room, showers and bathrooms. The campers were set up a little strangely (to us) in that your door faced your neighbor's door, and both picnic tables were on same side. We haven't seen that before. Helps if you like your neighbors! We would definitely stay here again.

Date of Stay:

This is a busy campground, with many outside activities going on. The bathrooms were in the process of being remodeled, so there was only 1 shower for the whole campground, and it wasn't any too clean. The staff was young and not too knowledgeable or friendly. I had a heck of a time just finding out which TV channels were available, and what the user name/password was for the wi-fi. It was close to the area attractions, and the surrounding scenery was quite lovely. I don't think we would camp here again if we had a choice.

Date of Stay:

This was an overnight stop for us on our way home from south Texas. We pulled in at 7:30 pm. The office was closed and there were no registration forms in the box. We picked a site that looked fairly level. It wasn't. All grass sites. The "paved" road was in very poor shape. The bathrooms & showers were very primitive and not very clean. We used electric only, and were up and on our way by 7:30 a.m. Someone dropped by & left a registration form on our steps while we were in the bathrooms. We never saw a living person while there. This is a good example of why people choose to sleep over at Wal Marts or truckstops. We thought $10 would have been a fair price for sleeping there.
