Roadrunner RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

RV Park is very large. Like mentioned in other reviews, it has no restrooms, shower facalities, etc. Electricity, water and sewer are well located. Sites are very large. Good areas for pets but desert plants may have sharp spines. Very low key with friendly management. Great value as all other Santa Fe RV parks with electricity are almost twice the money. Good Roadrunner cafe located withing walking distance. Excellent breakfast burrito. Diesel at the next ramp towards Santa Fe is inexpensive compared to the rest. Diesel pumps are in the rear of the station. Highway noise not bad if you take a spot at the back of the park. Some residents may be long term and go to work early in the morning. OAT TV is OK, nothing special. We camped at Roadrunner RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sky City RV Park, Acoma, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Park has easy pull through access for almost any length RV. No shade but very well organized with all services working well. Restroom/showers are spotless and like new. Walking path to casino has solar lighting. No registration at the office building so you have to go all the way back to the casino. Make sure to fill out the membership card ahead of time to get the $16 rate, otherwise $22 like we paid. Casino food OK but you may want to disconnect and drive to the restaurant depending on your condition. No other food close. and we walked two dogs on leash without any problem. Interstate noise not bad as you are a quarter mile or more away. Sites are nice and level. Excellent for overnight and location for Acoma exploration. Good to pick a site close to the showers/rest rooms as the sites at the far end require about a two minute walk. Again, this depends on your condition and the weather.
Cable TV with so-so reception and images. Free wi-fi with average speed but occupancy was very light. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Playa Bonita Resort, Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point), Sonora

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

About 300 spaces. Pretty close together. Need extension hose for sewer. WiFi weak except for inside building especially with more people. Juice good. Daily garbage service. Vendors with shrimp, fish, etc. come by each morning. Good, hot showers. Washing machines OK. Great beach but ocean front sites are usually full. Excellent restaurant for all meals with happy hour. Good security. Propane available from truck in park. Downtown is only five minutes away. Everyone is friendly with good advice for RV work, dentists, etc. Relaxed and probably the best RV park in Puerto Penasco. Not perfect but great for us. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

Glacier View Campground, Big Pine, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Older park with mostly DIY registration as no attendant. He showed up late at night for a few minutes. $20 if you connect, $15 if you don't. Electricity worked OK. We arrived late and left early. Showers require tokens. We were the only campers in early October. Back in site. Good for pets. We camped at Glacier View Campground in a Motorhome.

Brown's Millpond Campground, Bishop, California

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Great quiet location just past West Bishop. Super friendly owner. She was closed for the winter and water was turned off but she let us stay and connect to the 120V for our diesel block heater. Lots of trees and a small stream that runs behind each back in site. Large fire pit plus a BBQ in each site. Clean restrooms when park is open. This is about 5 minutes off the highway so make sure you have called for directions or GPS location. Town is about 10 or 12 minutes away. Good views and plenty of pet walking spots. Depending on the site, you may need to move your satellite receiver to get reception. Warning, some guides don't give the correct location for this campground. There are a couple other Brown's campgrounds in the area. Will be back the next time in Bishop! We camped at Brown's Millpond Campground in a Motorhome.

Shoshone RV Park, Shoshone, California

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nicest park in the area. Much better and less expensive than anything in Tecopa. Owners are very friendly. Good pool with a pipe of 90 degree plus water constantly flowing into the pool. Not hot enough in windy cold weather but perfect if the weather is warm. Sites are not on top of each other. WiFi normally here but windstorm blew down equipment. Good restaurant and tourist bureau a few hundred yards south. Large portions and friendly staff. Antique gas station next door with ancient car and gas pump. Now the tourist bureau. Free WiFi here. Good recommendations for local hikes. Excellent overnight on the way to Death Valley Camped here in a 36 foot motorhome with toad. We camped at Shoshone RV Park in a Motorhome.

Furnace Creek (NPS Campground), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with some paved sites with electricity and some in the gravel with dry camping only. Improved sites are more $$. Excellent rest rooms and stainless dish washing station. A few sites where you can get under trees for some shade in hot weather. Make sure to have plenty of provisions. Store about a mile away has very limited choice and Very high prices. Restaurant is also expensive and the staff is very slow and seems to have an attitude. Used Access pass so it was free park entry and $8/night for the campsite. We camped at Furnace Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Twin Peaks Campground (NPS Campground), Ajo, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Outstanding park at Organ Pipe National Monument. Great campsites with dyed desert brown flat cement pads. Pull through for any sized RV. Two lane dump and water station. Super clean! Nice restrooms with solar heated showers. Giant cactus next to pads. Perimeter walk on the outside of the park with well maintained paths. One of the nicest parks we have ever been to. No WiFi, no electricity. Used ACCESS pass for free entry. We camped at Twin Peaks Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Playa Bonita Resort, Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point), Sonora

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park in a good location. We checked all the other parks and happy we went with Playa Bonita. Park is clean with daily garbage pickup. 30 amp voltage was right on. Wi-Fi is fair to poor depending on the number of RVs in the park. Excellent HOT showers and laundromat. Vendors come by in the morning with fresh shrimp, tamales, etc. for sale. Excellent restaurant one minute walk from the park with well decorated interior/bar and large outdoor patio overlooking the water. $2 margaritas or $6 pitchers during happy hour. Security is good with nothing ever reported missing by long time residents. Office can arrange ANYTHING including insurance, painting, interior work, washing/waxing. Great dentists in town with state of the art equipment and painless excellent work. Will be back next year. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.
