Outback Springs RV Resort , Bonifay, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservation two weeks before arrival. Big rig towing. Arrived around 2:30 to check in. Lots of work going on to clean up and add swimming pool, rec room, etc. Check in was horrible, manager was on the phone and radio back and forth. Person checking me in struggled with form, but could see I was on reservation calendar. Couple of young kids sitting at the counter watching movie on cell phone. They were guests at the park, but not the managers or desk persons children. The phone was so loud I had to keep asking the check in person to repeat herself. After I paid, they asked me to wait 15 minutes so they could find a way to move a travel trailer off the site to put me on. I stood around and talked to the owner (one of the partners). Finally they started to move the trailer when the manager asked who put the 5th wheel in the space I was supposed to go. Then the manager told me there was a miscommunication but she would make an exception for me and let me exit the park, return and come in over the grass and park in the spot just vacated by the trailer. Unfortunately, there has been so much rain the grass was like a sponge and the apron was mud and had a big rut from the pick up that moved the trailer. I declined and asked for my money back. The manager had left and the owner went to the bank, so a couple of guys pooled their money and returned my $33.00. Unless they make some major changes, I can't see how this park is going to be worth returning to. They caused me to drive another two hours with my wife calling parks on a Friday night looking for a vacancy. I would not recommend staying here. We camped at Outback Springs RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA), Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

What a ripoff! We have stayed here over the years, but the park is now a Good Sam Park and the price was sky high. Supposedly we were in a Premium Site, with a patio, old nasty grill and a swing. Not worth the money. Water and electric were about 30 feet to connection. My 25 foot RF cable was to short, so I bought a 50 footer to watch TV (severe weather in the area). Sewer was at about 25-30 feet. Required both of my long hoses to connect. Roads were nearly not navigable with big rig and towing. They stressed speed limit at check in a couple of times, but not road conditions and low hanging branches. Power, water and sewer were at max distance of hoses/cords. No satellite, but they did have cable. We won't return, will find another campground priced more reasonable. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.

Huntington / Fox Fire KOA, Milton, West Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Over night stay, not really big rig friendly, but doable. Have stayed here before. Dirt and gravel pad, mowing grass right next to our motorhome. Seems that would of been done prior to our arrival. Good power, water, sewer. Restaurants, mall, Walmart about 15 minutes away. Not a destination campground in my mind, but works for over night stop. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Trails RV Park, Corydon, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on the B side, across the street and on the road to the Tyson Chicken Processing Plant. No real campground here, just a dozen or so back in sites off the busy road. The main campground is across the street and up the road. Noy very big and was pretty tight. No real reservation system, owner takes all phone calls and can't remember talking to you. Very nice manager on site and very helpful, but only checks you in and doesn't really manage the campground. We stayed here to visit friends, but will not stay here again. We camped at Grand Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sundermeier RV Park, Saint Charles, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Great park right off Missouri 370. Unusual entrance as Transit Street is a residential street with the campground at the end of the street. Good electric, sewer but water pressure is 100lbs, so you must use a reducer. They do warn you at check in. Park had paved roads and easy to maneuver. We had a back in space wide enough to park truck next to coach, but sites are close together. Right in flight path of Lambert Field, so some interference with OTA TV, but no issue with satellite TV. Had wifi, but we found it to be slow. We would stay here again. We camped at Sundermeier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Triple J RV Park, Russell, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Over night stay and right off I70. Good pull thru with easy access into and out of site. Good water, electric and sewer hook ups. Excellent shot for satellite tv. Site was gravel with a picnic table. Walking distance to a local restaurant with a buffet priced reasonably. Fuel station just outside of park that made for easy refueling on departue and easy access to I70. We would stay here again. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Motorhome.

Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here last year while visiting family. Park has level concrete sites with excellent power, water and sewer hook ups. Satellite TV is not a problem, nor is OTA TV. Park is clean, well maintained and patrolled by WOF Security. Some noise from the roller coaster and I435 traffic if you are sitting outside, but none if you are inside. Shopping and restaurants selection is huge within a 15 minute drive. Both Kansas City North and Liberty have numerous options for grocery stores, Walmart and restaurants. Easy access to I435 north or south and easy access to fuel station too. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Motorhome.

Kanab RV Corral, Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent small park with good power, water and sewer hook ups. The best wifi in any park I've ever been in. The owner encourages you to stream TV if you can't connect to satellite. Nice drive to Bryce and Zion. Grocery stores close by with restaurants, ATV tours, etc., all within 10 minute drive. Kanab is an interesting small town and even though no Walmart was close by, we shopped local with out any problems. The park is gravel and at the edge of town and is kept up by the owner and the work campers. A real gem. Would stay here again. We camped at Kanab RV Corral in a Motorhome.

Elko RV Park At Ryndon, Elko, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Good power, water, sewer. Pull thru so short that I pulled far forward into road and my 50 foot water hose needed additional hose to reach water spickett. Could not find reservation (they use post it notes on wall) but they did accomodate us. Used for overnight stop. Gas station across the interstate, but not a lot around otherwise. Would not stay here again. Mostly permanent park, friendly but run down. We camped at Elko RV Park At Ryndon in a Motorhome.

Desert Rose RV Park, Fernley, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with good power, water and sewer. Cable was not working and was under construction. Wifi worked ok. Good local tv reception and excellent satellite tv. Local walmart about 15 minutes away. Casinos and restaurants all within 15 minutes and Reno about 45 minutes away. Sites are concrete and level with grass sites. Unfortunately, they water the sites daily and hard water stains on coach and toad. Keeps you busy getting water spots off! We would stay here again. We camped at Desert Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Village Camper Inn RV Park, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice older park with good power, water and sewer hook up. Site was level with concrete patio. Lots of big trees with no satellite service from my site but cable hook up. Walmart about 10 minutes away and restaurants and Home Depot less than 15 minutes away on US 101. Lots of eye candy between the redwoods and the ocean. Wifi was $10.00 for a week, but our 2 bars of Verizon worked well. We would stay here again. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Portland Fairview RV Park, Fairview, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground just outside of Portland. Excellent utilities, good wifi, OTA channels and satellite tv worked well. Interior roads were paved as well as pads with grass in between sites. A little close but doable. Allowed RV wash for $5.00, a really nice touch. About 20 minutes to Multnomah Falls. Close to Walmart, Fred Meyer and several restaurants. We did not use the pool, but noticed several people enjoying the pool in the hot weather we were having. Very pleasant staff and appears to be one of the better run Encore Parks. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Riverside RV Park, Chehalis, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

As others described, this is basically a parking lot with full hookups, sandwiched between a golf course, municipal airport and a cut through road carrying quite a bit of traffic. However, there are limited campgrounds in the Olympia and Tumwater area that can accommodate big rigs and provide 50 amp service. We spent a week here and did quite a lot of touring, so this worked out ok for us. Not great, but convenient to Walmart, restaurants and Walgreens. Short drive into Chehalis or Centralia for restaurants and shopping. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Adequate campground for over night stay. Good utilities, asphalt pad to park on. No issue with parking my 44' Motorhome. Right on I90, so lots of traffic noise. No satellite tv reception or OTA.
