Fox Den Acres, New Stanton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, clean and long sites. Used as overnight stop. Easy access if you pay attention to signs. We did not use cable, but had excellent satellite coverage. Also had decent Verizon coverage (2 bars). Roads were wide and campsite access was easyto get into and out of. I would stop here again and would use this as a base camp to explore the area. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

Groveland Oaks, Holly, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. Well maintained, site was on a concrete pad with concrete patio, picnic table. There was a fire ring. Utility pedestal looked new and easy access to utilities. Roads were gravel dirt mixed, but county kept them watered and there was no dust. Bath house near us was brand new and immaculate. Lake nearby with beach and swimming area (backside of campground from our spot). Friendly and helpful staff. Less than 15 minutes to Grand Blanc. I can't say enough positives about our stay here. Will return again. We camped at Groveland Oaks in a Motorhome.

Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area (Military FamCamp), Muldraugh, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground for stop over. Lots of low hanging branches, but grass is kept cut and trimming done atound utilities. Borderline park on full timers. Lots of "stuff" around travel trailers and some 5th wheels. We will return as we have good friends in the area. We camped at Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Ashland / Huntington West KOA, Argillite, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Owner checked us in and informed me I had enough points for a $25.00 credit. I thanked her for taking the time to check my points and offer the discount. The park is nice and clean, level sites and good gravel pull throughs. It was an overnight stop for us and we did not use cable, but had great access with our satellite. Easy on and off to I 64 and about 6 miles from/to Flying J with RV Lanes and lots of maneuver room. We camped at Ashland / Huntington West KOA in a Motorhome.

Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Advance, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2017
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 nights and park is clean with good access to campsites. Not really big rig friendly in that most sites were not level even with adding boards. Most of better sites were taken by annuals. As with most Thousand Trails parks, they are becoming trailer parks vice campgrounds. We observed numerous sites with big storage sheds, wrought iron fences, cargo trailers, multiple vehicles parked at the sites, etc. The swimming area had a nice sand beach at the lake and the family center offered breakfast and lunch. Could be a really nice park with better management. Rangers were friendly and very helpful. We camped at Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Village Campground, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Trees are over growing road into park. I mentioned it to the manager and she said she would tell them to get right on it. Site was clean and mowed, but took 30 feet of sewer hose to hook up. Same with water hose and electrical cord. Tree was right at end of site and made turning out difficult with side of coach rubbing tree branches. Have stayed here in the past and always a pleasant stay, but getting harder to return as the same issues remain. We camped at Pioneer Village Campground in a Motorhome.

PA Dutch Country Campground, Outdoor World, Manheim, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Badly in need of good management. Tree branches are hanging over the road and unable to maneuver around them. Weeds were nearly as high as the water spigots. Gravel was near nonexistent. Stayed 7 days and never witnessed anyone doing any maintenance on any of the sites or trimming back trees over the roads. Level sites were not really available. Make sure you take boards. The pool looked nice from the road, but we did not use it. The check in was confusing and even though I had a reservation, I had to wait for the person scooping ice cream to check me in. The clerk couldn't find my reservation. Will not return, though the location to Lancaster and Hershey are great. We camped at PA Dutch Country Campground, Outdoor World in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Strasburg Rail Museum, train ride, Amish Buggy Ride were great! About 30 minutes away and well worth the trip. As was late lunch, early dinner at the Good and Plenty Restaurant. Bring your appetite, because the food will keep coming! The Cornwall Furnace tour and Union Canal boat ride also fantastic. About 15 minutes away and you can drive up Boyd Street and see the miners homes (now private residences) built by the company for the workers.

Encore Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort, Lutz, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in our Thousand Trails network and there was no cost to us. Very convenient to I 75 within 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The roads within the park are paved but narrow. The sites are grass with good hook ups. Due to the amount of rain we did notice some of the sites were developing ruts due to vehicles pulling in and out. The park is very friendly with something always going on at the club house. We were invited back, if in the area for dinner on Sunday nights even though we have moved about 20 miles east to another park. Tampa is about 20 minutes to the south and New Port Richey, Port Richey and Tarpon Springs less than 30 minutes to the west. We will definitely return for longer than the week we stayed this time. We camped at Encore Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Harbor Lakes RV Resort, Port Charlotte, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We were able to use our TT membership so there was no cost at this park for our week stay. This is a nice park with wide paved streets that make it very easy to maneuver. Our site was on dirt and 30 amp only. However, it worked OK for the week. It is convenient to I-75 and easy access to Ft. Myers too. We stayed here and would definitely return here again. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is major shopping in Port Charlotte about 15 minutes away including a mall, movie theater, restaurants, Wal Mart and what appears to be a big flea market. North to Engelwood is grocery stores, Wal mart and pharmacies too. Very convenient to some restaurants too. The grocery stores are about 10 minutes away. There is a shopping mall, movie theater, restaurants and Wal Mart within 15 minutes of the park.

Southern Aire RV Resort, Thonotosassa, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Older park with RV sites and park home sites. Easy access from I-75 or I-4. We choose this park due to its close proximity to the Tampa RV Show and we were less than 15 minutes away. There was an activity going on every night we were here up in the community building. The utilities all worked well and we had plenty of over air TV stations in addition to the 4 networks. We would camp here again and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We did not use the pool (well kept and very nice) due to uncooperative weather. We would camp here again. We camped at Southern Aire RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage, Saint George, South Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is approximately five miles from I 95. We stopped here for the night on our way to Florida. Very clean and well kept. They were able to accommodate us with a pull thru so I did not need to unhook. The site did not have sewer, but that was not an issue for us and the dump station was very accessible. Short trip into town if any needed supplies. No cable and the reception was limited to public broadcast stations only. We would stay here again overnight on our way home. We camped in a motor home. Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice KOA right off toll road and easy to find. Road noise was not an issue. Site was excellent. The interior roads were tight but we were able to maneuver our 36 foot Motorhome with car into site with no issues. Staff was friendly and helpful. Laundry room was clean, mist machines were in operational condition. Prices were on par with most campground laundry rooms. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Village RV Resort, North Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Park is located with easy access off I-75. Mainly permanent sites with some RV spaces around the park. We were put in a site that required me to drive in and butt up to a trailer that was in front of me. Hookups required a second 15 foot sewer hose to reach hookup. Good 50 amp power and water pressure remained stable. Grassy site with picnic table on concrete patio, but these were showing there age and heavy usage. Grocery stores, RV Dealerships all within 15 minutes. Interior roads are narrow and tight. We camped at Pioneer Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Waters Edge RV Resort, Zephyrhills, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park has several permanent sites with RV sites around the park. We were on a grass site that was level and had a concrete patio and picnic table. Roads were paved and easy access into and out of park. This park has real friendly people who treat the RV short stays just as well as the long term residents. We extended a second week because we felt welcomed in this community. It is close to Publix grocery store and restaurants. We will winter here next year. Stayed here for Barrett Jackson auction and was very convenient. That said I would not stay here otherwise. It was not easy to find, as BJ check in was different area than signage RV Check in. Big dirt parking lot with water and electric. Pumping service available for $40. Dump station available outside campground on the roadway. Gates were being locked to access auction from campground by City, for no reason. I camped here in a Motorhome. We camped at WestWorld in a Motorhome.
