Wendy Oaks RV Park, Florence, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Wendy is very pleasant. The park is just one loop and half the sites are permanents. Several are not neat and detract from the park. We were on a nice lakeside site #8. The lake is lovely and we had a big fire pit but the site really leans to the lake. The road noise is loud and the 5:55 AM train will get you rising and shining early for sure. The bath house was nice and clean but there were no other services. We got a Good Sam rate but this park is not worth $31 a night. We camped at Wendy Oaks RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park as long as it doesn't rain. When it rains you might as well be in a huge flooded sandbox. Nice sites, we were in #47. The shuttle to New Orleans was really convenient. $6 per person per day. The restaurant was handy but too expensive for a paper plate meal. Being right on the lake is great, however the industrial buildings on the other side are unsightly. We used Passport America so the rate was half of the regular rate and I thought that was too much for what they had to offer. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Travel Trailer.

Sunset King RV Resort, Defuniak Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park. We were a bit off season so we didn't use the pool and they didn't have the hot tub in operation. Sites are flat and nice but I didn't care for the layout. All of our windows are on the drivers side and that side was so close to the next unit that we felt crowded even though the other side had lots of room. The lake looked lovely and I am sure this would be a wonderful place in nicer weather. Lots of activities happening at the clubhouse every day. We camped at Sunset King RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Florida Gateway Resort, Jasper, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This park was cheap enough but don't let the brochure or website fool you. Most of what they brag about having They Don't Have. No pool, no horse back riding or stables, no water slide, no paddle boats, and no Direct TV. It is as if someone had a brilliant idea and then lost interest. No paper in any of the restrooms. They did have free washer/dryer but only one that took an hour a load. The sites are in a big field, no trees. If the park was full you would not have any space at all. No picnic tables or fire pits. We camped at Florida Gateway Resort in a Travel Trailer.

A Big Wheel RV Park, Saint Marys, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We used our Passport America membership and the average rate per night worked out to be $25. We stayed four nights and loved it. It was a very nice park with paved roads and big concrete pads and patios. We could have a fire and just relax. The owners were friendly and the gave us lots of good ideas about things to do while in St. Mary's. Although we didn't go to the Sunday night pot luck, we did feel welcome. We would definitely stay at this park again in the future. We camped at A Big Wheel RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely park with paved roads and concrete pads and patios. The pool is heated and everything was well maintained. We did not have a reservation so we could only stay two nights, but we would go back again. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground), Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We didn't actually stay in this park. We tried to make a reservation and the guy on the phone was like "yea, come on it". We got there and paid for four nights. Then realized that they didn't have a spot big enough for our travel trailer. We did get our money back but had to wait until the next day to meet with the owner. All of their roads are sand and there were people washing trailers. Also there were a lot of very old permanent trailers that looked unkept and a bit sketchy. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Hawaiian Isles RV Resort, Ruskin, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We ended up at this park late on a Saturday evening. There are a lot of permanent sites and one of those people helped us into an overflow spot until morning. The staff was pleasant and moved us to a regular site the next day. They have a very nice pool and paved streets. We stayed a total of 3 nights. The club house has great pool tables and exercise equipment. We camped at Hawaiian Isles RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage, Saint George, South Carolina

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights at Jolly Acres. We could not get full hookups due to our late reservation, but the staff was friendly, the sites were big, and overall we liked the location. There is not a lot to do in the area but we went to a great restaurant called Georgio's at the recommendation of the park staff. Yummy. We camped at Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage in a Travel Trailer.
