Valley of Fires Recreation Area (BLM), Carrizozo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

Very cool in the middle of the lava flows. We stayed in a primitive site which was down in a low spot with trees and lots of shade. Other sites were on top of the hill with a great view but no trees and out in the open. Nice trail through the lava with many info stops. Great staff and very clean. We camped at Valley of Fires Recreation Area (BLM) in a Tent Trailer.

Lots of trees. Some sites were very private due to trees and rock walls. Every site had a table with a roof. Very clean, and nice paved roads. We camped at Brantley Lake State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Nice forest area, lots of shade. Bear boxes and tables at every site. Very roomy (not to close to neighbors) sites. Great store with everything close by. Crater Lake was beautiful, a must see when in Oregon. We camped at Mazama Village (NPS Campground) in a Tent Trailer.

Nice KOA, friendly and helpful staff, nice store with game room, they show movies in a barn, have a nice mini-golf course, and rent 3 and 4 wheeled bikes. No complaints at all with this park. Also a basketball court, large grass field, and nice nature walk by the river. We camped at Albany / Corvallis KOA in a Tent Trailer.

We chose a tent site here which was very nice, on the pond, nice grass, water, trees, very quiet, and picnic table. Lady in office was rude, store was almost non existent, restaurant was closed, and the bathrooms, showers were very far away. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Sites are small, restrooms are just nice clean porta pots, showers are pay per minute, and the store has about three items in it, but the location is great for going to the north rim, plenty of big shade trees, and very nice and helpful staff. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Tent Trailer.

Manchester Beach / Mendocino Coast KOA, Manchester, California

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful place. Sites had lots of room. They have a nice game room and four wheeled bikes to rent, lots of fun. Only problem was the person in space 46 had a rottweiler which was very well behaved, but also two cats running lose 24 hours a day. I had some problems keeping the cat off my motorcycle and twice I complained to different campground employees and no one seemed to care. We camped at Manchester Beach / Mendocino Coast KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Moab Valley RV Resort , Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2006 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Did not notice too many rules. Lots of trees, very nice and friendly staff. One of the best parks we have ever stayed at. We were on a motorcycle pulling a popup camper, a friend met us here in his van and parked in our site. They only charged him $5.00. Definitely will stay again. We camped at Moab Valley RV Resort in a Tent Trailer.
