South Jetty RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our 2 days at South Jetty. It was like a little wooded fairyland with all the ferns and small plants. We didn't have a site with septic, but we were out most of the time exploring. The Ranger was helpful and kind at check-in. We camped at South Jetty RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Travel Trailer.

Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails, Acton, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a canyon area. No grass. Just dust, but again...it's a canyon and an hour away from LA. 10 miles to the metro line. The only weird thing about this camp was we had to share water with our neighbor site. Pressure was low. The electricity also kept cutting off, but other than that it was fine. The trains are loud but I don't expect thousand trails parks to be a 5 star hotel. The people were loud but they were having so much fun. Happiness is good. The clerks were courteous and checkin was a breeze. We camped at Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

Cleone Campground, Fort Bragg, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We spent one night here. I think we got the last spot for the night and then the next day we were lucky enough to nab one walk-in RV site at a nearby State Park, which is directly next to this campground. We appreciate the spot. It was quiet, clean and served our purpose. Thank you! We camped at Cleone Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Right next door to the state park. The park Ranger shared this tip with us when the park was full.

Jojoba Hills SKP RV Resort - Escapees Park - 55+ Park (members only), Aguanga, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

I really don't know what I could add about this park. It is amazing and some day we may be back to stay. It is so organized...down to signing up for the time you need your washer/dryer. The sense of community is the strongest I've ever been around. We boondocks outside the gate the first night and then stayed a week on a private spot. Thank you for an enjoyable experience. You definitely raised the bar high. We camped at Jojoba Hills SKP RV Resort - Escapees Park - 55+ Park (members only) in a Travel Trailer.

Thousand Trails / Pio Pico, Jamul, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed around 10 days here on the South Side. The North side had a "lottery" at 6AM first come first served for the newly vacant spots on the North, but we just used this spot to sleep so we didn't bother. The best part of this park was in 30 minutes we could be on the beach at Coronado. We found all the stores we would need around 20 minutes away. It was interesting because the border patrol was very active in this area. I never felt concerned though. The biggest issue we had was no phone service (AT&T and Sprint) and of course, no internet. I used the bathroom shower on the last day and was surprised at how spacious and clean they were. They were ADA compliant too. We camped at Thousand Trails / Pio Pico in a Travel Trailer.

Idyllwild RV Resort - Thousand Trails, Idyllwild, California

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This was an adventure! It was difficult to navigate the road up the mountain to get into with a 28'. I would definitely suggest daytime driving. The problem is the whizzers around the curve. We drove through Idyllwild on the way back and this was a lot easier to maneuver. The park itself is a challenge to find easy spots to get into, but it was worth the challenge. It is an interesting park being tucked up in the mountains and the trip to Idyllwild is definitely a must. The people are so friendly and dog friendly shops. We did lose the top of our fridge vent so be remember where you go go into you must come back out of. No internet except for the laundry areas. Take plenty of quarters. We camped at Idyllwild RV Resort - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

There is a pub in Idyllwild near the post office that makes a delicious pizza. It is where the locals go. Also, a grocery store in that area.

Harmony Ridge Campground, Branchville, New Jersey

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Evaluating this park is tough because everything was frozen. The host did talk us through getting lost on the way to it and got us "unstuck" to get out of the park the next morning. For friendlineess/helpfulness they definitely get an A++ for 2 tired travelers looking for a place to land in a season of ice and for that we are very thankful. We camped at Harmony Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. We didn't stay because the weather was so bad. We parked in a spot with a lake view. I would think that for the price, we would have had cable but that was available for another up charge. It does take $$ to upkeep a park this nice though. It was a little bit confusing to get into. Once you pay to get into the gate (for parking if you do not have a reservation) there is a sign for camping pointing in the wrong direction of this particular campground. Just keep going the other direction as it takes a while to get to the registration spot. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The Rock RV Park, Rockmart, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 2 nights. It was very peaceful and pet friendly. They probably have a lot of activity here in the summer time and have done a lot of improvements to this park. I wanted to drink my coffee in one of the many swings they had placed around the park, but unfortunately I had injured my ankle so I was not able to. If you need a place to just chill and soak up the pine needle smell this is your place (in March anyway). There are several people who live full time but a campground has to support themselves. I also recommend the laundromat in town as a good place to wash clothes. We didn't use the shower facilities. The spots were going to be extremely muddy when we left but we pulled out before the storm hit. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for our peaceful stay. We would return again. We camped at The Rock RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
