Kent County Youth Fair Ground, Lowell, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

As with most "Fair Grounds" you 'make your own site' and elec. and water can be some distance to stretch. No dump here but the city waste water plant is next door and $4 dump fee. Enter on Bowes St., turn left on Broadway and Fair Office is third building on left. Also an entry for trucks going to the grain elevator so you may have some trucks parked on the street. Nice area with grocery and fuel very close - good phone and antenna tv - WiFi if you are close enough to the buildings that have transmitters - 20 min. to Grand Rapids. Great for the price ($20 day / $100 Wk.) We camped at Kent County Youth Fair Ground in a Fifth Wheel.

Brookside Park, Otsego, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Not all 30 amp plugs work. 3 concrete pads, other sites are grass. No dump anywhere in town or close around that I can find either here in person or on web - sanidump.com. Groceries and fuel are close as is hwy. access. Good water. Nice place to stay and can't Beat the price ! ! ! We camped at Brookside Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Springs Campground, Stow, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

A very fine city park that allows camping. Sites have little designation so you kinda have to make your own in the grassy areas and you will need leveling. Electric pedestals down the center of three 'loops' and water spickots (4) at the top and bottom of loop 1&2. Loop 3 best for larger rv's and several (2-3) of the pedestals do have 30 amp plugs and breakers, you have to look for them. Dump at exit. 5 day limit per site -- 15 day limit in campground. Down the hill at the ball parks you do have access to restrooms if needed. Excellent county host will collect fee nightly. We enjoyed this park very much ! We camped at Silver Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

South Oaks Manufactured RV & Mobile Home Park, Palmetto, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A Diamond in the Rough -- VERY rough ! ! Great location with easy access to highway 85, 30 min. to downtown (no traffic) Peachtree City just 15 min. east with grocery, fuel etc. But care for the park has been lacking for Many years and there is Nothing else in the area. $35 night is Too much - $200 week is better - $500 month (includ. elec.) is best. Worked out fine for us for the month with the easy access location for south ATL - just realize it's Not a 'pretty' place ... but Could be with a major makeover and then people would be waiting in line I think !

The turn toward the campground is just next the the service station which is confusing with the access road. We camped at South Oaks Manufactured RV & Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Four Bears Casino & Lodge, New Town, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

What a Strange place !! Other reviews are spot on -- looks like a Squatters camp. You can camp 'primitive' - no hookups $10 - out in the large field areas which could actually be wonderful spots with a view of the lake but you'd have to settle in with the other squatters. The hookup sites are all crammed in and good luck finding where to check in ! The casino slots are not bad and the facility is newly renovated, very nice - but 'camping' probably not worth the hassell unless you need to stop. We camped at Four Bears Casino & Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Summerlan RV Park, Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Good stop for fuel - grocery (1 in town) - and a power charge. Interesting little town with some nice historical sites like an old Vaudeville theater. Campground is run by an older 'mom & pop' couple but the sites themselves are marginal. Sites are tight together (at registration they actually put a site between each camper to give enough room), 2 antenna stations (NBC PBS), cable offered but consist of only 'extra' stations - QVC, Nick, Cartoon, TLC, TBN etc. - no locals, movies or sports. WiFi offered but exceedingly slow if you actually connect. I realize it's a 35 year old park but I think it's at the top of it's price range for what it offers. We camped at Summerlan RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Deerlick Creek COE, Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

What a fantastically beautiful park -- I hope my photo wins the photo contest ! Most all sites are on the top of ridges overlooking the lake or river and hookups are good and internal roads are adequate -- roads getting there are small county roads but once you're there you'll enjoy this park. COE routinely does the best parks in the country. Price reflects park service senior pass. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Five Mile Creek Canoe and Camping, Graysville, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The most difficult part is getting To the park down small country roads. Once there you'll find a fine little city park with recreation areas, ball fields, creek with fish and a rope swing and enough bike trails to make anyone happy. Camp 'sites' are not really designated but rather areas in the wooded area behind the ball fields to pull into, in what ever manner you wish to reach the hookups and miss the trees. If you call for a 'reservation' you will probably talk to the city mayor - who runs the canoe company at the front of this city park. WiFi was Excellent, I never did find the laundry, there are no 'facilities' (I'd rather use my own bathroom anyway) and grocery and fuel are a 10-15 minute drive to the new Walmart. TV reception was good but I had no t-mobile or AT&T phone service. We stayed more than one night and were able to 'negotiate' a rate of 5/$80. I really liked the park setting of this campground even if getting here was a challenge. Small country roads would Not be feasible for a really big rig, but Most motorhomes and trailers will like it once they get here and be in a good location for visiting the Birmingham area. We camped at Five Mile Creek Canoe and Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Wawa RV Resort and Campground, Wawa, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

No hot water in the laundry. WiFi was come and go: worked good when on. Overhanging trees on entry make for a one way road. Just hope no one is coming the other way. Very tight turns and difficult to get to dump when entering. OK when exiting.

With exchange rate: works out to about $35USD. So not bad for what you get. Yes, there is a pool and hot tub and the only park for the area. But could use some tree trimming. Trees scraped our sides and roof all night. And needs grounds updates: at least attach the screen to the laundry door. We camped at Wawa RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stillwater Tent and Trailer Park, Nipigon, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

It's OK .... just OK. WiFi worked good. Sites are disjunct and spread about. One 'row' of new sites with sewer. Construction on the main road might be dicey. No one in office when first arrived so picked my own site, eventually got 'checked in'. With Good Sam and exchange rate price is OK. It's a good stop off location on the loop around the lake. We camped at Stillwater Tent and Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bar B RV Park, Forsyth, Missouri

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Quaint little park overlooking the river. Wonderful campground owner / manager. Call ahead so he can meet you and lead you in - it's a small entrance that can be easily missed, but once you get in sites are fine, if a bit packed in like most RV parks. $1.25 laundry w/ hot water. Good antenna tv, radio and phone service, good WiFi and just 20 min. to Branson but out of the 'rush' of people. Grocery and fuel just across the river in Forsyth. And for the price (I paid $80 cash for the week) it can't be beat ! We camped at Bar B RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Buffalo National River, Tyler Bend Campground, St. Joe, Arkansas

Overall Rating:

No hookups, but a lovely place. Plenty of solar access. No rig too big but roads are rather small all through AR and especially in the mountains. A wonderful drive up hwy. 27 was our route - would be beautiful in the fall. PBS only with antenna and no cell service. We camped at Buffalo National River, Tyler Bend Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Ouachita, Stephens Park Campground (COE), Mountain Pine, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

One of several CoE parks on Lake Ouachita. This is the closest to Hot Springs for sight seeing. Web site list it as Class B (no elec) but each site Does have 30a Elec. but no water at site - spickets available. Very nice, quiet camp with good fishing and lake access. No antenna tv or cell service and roads getting there are somewhat small but normal for AR. Go past the school in Mountain Pine (you'll think you're going too far) and down the hill to the park at the dam water outlet. 34.570738, -93.191063. We camped at Lake Ouachita, Stephens Park Campground (COE) in a Fifth Wheel.

Ocean Pond Campground (USFS), Sanderson, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely the best Forest Service campground I've ever seen. Beautiful setting and paved roads and sites and Excellent facilities and people. $18 ($12 senior park pass) Water + Elec. -- but don't expect to get one of these sites, with a 30 day stay limit most of these are taken for the duration (unless you're Lucky). $12 ($6 senior pass) water sites of which about 4 offer good solar access and I saw no generator limits posted and $8 ($4 senior) primitive sites in a park like setting (just beautiful) make up this 69 site park right on the lake. Osceola National Forest has a civil war battle field but fuel and grocery are 30 min. away in Lake City, this is the only exception to giving this park a 10. I enjoyed riding my bike around every day and (if you can get in) I hope you enjoy this park - I sure did ! We camped at Ocean Pond Campground (USFS) in a Fifth Wheel.
