Haines Hitch-Up RV Park, Haines, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Best campground we stayed in while on the road this summer and easily the best in Alaska. Sites are gravel and level with nice gravel roads throughout the campground. Facilities are immaculate and staff was great. All utilities worked as expected. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Juniper Campground (NPS Campground), Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

If you enjoy dry camping, wildlife, great vistas, and do not have a long rig this campground may be for you. We camped in May 2016 and enjoyed nice weather and fine wild life viewing. The bathroom was clean (the campground was about 40% full) but the sinks were limited to a single, spring-loaded, cold water faucet. We camp in a 33' MH with toad and there were a limited number of sites that would accomodate us. No campground hosts but a ranger came through at least daily. Site was level, partially shaded, and gravel. We camped at Juniper Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Cottonwood Campground (NPS Campground), Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground if you like dry camping. Campground hosts are great; friendly, informative, and very patient. Bison meander through campground morning and evening. Our gravel site was fairly level and roads through the park were decent. Bathrooms were clean but the campground was still relatively empty. Surprised to find water available but there is no dump station at the campground. We camped at Cottonwood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Bismarck KOA, Bismarck, North Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We do not typically stay at KOA's but if more were like this one we might change that habit. Roads through the campground are good and our partially shaded site was level. Water, sewer, and electric worked as expected. WiFi was great (best we've experienced in a campground) as were the office staff. Close to I94 so some minor road noise that we did not notice while inside. Bathrooms were clean but we did not use the showers. We camped at Bismarck KOA in a Motorhome.

Bunker Hills Campground, Coon Rapids, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

First off I want to point out that we stayed here in mid-May so campground was maybe 25-30% occupied. This is a county park and there are lots of summer activities for kids.
Sites were spacious, gravel, level and shaded. Restrooms were immaculate but small for the number of sites. Trails ran fairly close to the sites. No WiFi or sewer hookups. The dump station was clean and well maintained. We would certainly stay again if in the area prior to June or after September. I think it would be a great campground if camping with children. We camped at Bunker Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Gravel site with a reasonable amount of space between sites and level. No issues with power/water. Some road noise as is fairly close to interstate. Bathrooms were clean; did not use the showers. Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed a single night while passing through Indiana. Didn't use the shower facilities but the hot water from the sink faucet took a long time to warm up and then was just warm. The site was grass with water/electric (no issues with either). Found it OK for a 1 night stay. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Roamers' Retreat Campground, Kinzers, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Just picked up new MH last weekend and stayed here while trying everything out. Site was gas/dirt and very uneven but within range of hydraulics. Moved the picnic table and fire ring to the driver side in order to make them usable. Fortunately the site was large and the site behind ours was empty.
Water/electric fine. Sewer required suspension of gravity as it was uphill. Did not use the showers but appeared clean.
Staff was friendly. We camped at Roamers' Retreat Campground in a Motorhome.

Sinnemahoning State Park, Austin, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Went to area to see elk and we were not disappointed. Campground had minimal services (electric only) but knew that going in. Site was gravel/grass and level with nice spacing between sites. Bathrooms were very clean and campground host pleasant and helpful. Park staff at visitor center were eager to provide information about wildlife, hiking trails, etc. A bonus were the clear, dark skies.
Really isolated with no internet or cell service available. We camped at Sinnemahoning State Park in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Campground, Cherokee, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Indian Creek was a bit of a drive but well worth it. Bath house appeared to be cleaned multiple times each day. Sites were gravel and level and all utilities worked as expected with the exception of a very weak WiFi signal. Compared with other private campgrounds sites were nicely spaced. We camped at Indian Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

John Prince Park Campground, Palm Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Hesitated staying here in the past after reading a couple of mostly negative reviews but our recent 2 week stay was all positive. All utilities worked as expected and the WiFi signal was generally good. Our site was level, shaded, and roomy. Staff was helpful and pleasant with them pointing out good areas to see a couple of Great Horned Owls living in the campground. Although the nearby small plane airport seemed busy we seldom noticed associated noise during the day with activity ceasing at sundown. The park outside the campground is pleasant with a fitness path, walking/biking trails, and athletic fields. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

La Mesa RV Park, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

After a day spent at Mesa Verde we returned to our site and found a tent next to our MH and a couple of guys having a beer on our picnic table. Found it was not unusual for the campground to book a tent on the same site as an RV. Host was have then move by the time we returned the next day. Tent was still there so we left. Wasted a few hours and re-arranged our schedule. Would definitely not stay there again. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great state park convenient to Savannah. A little pricey but the scenery and location made it worth every penny. All camp personnel friendly and informative. Large sites under forest canopy. Wi-Fi limited to the camp office area so of limited value. We camped at Skidaway Island State Park in a Motorhome.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Hobe Sound, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Had a great experience camping here. Recently redone and the staff seems to take a lot of pride in their park. All park personnel very friendly and informative. Bathrooms spotless after cleaning and sites nicely spaced. Trees immature and so very open between sites. Plan on returning next December. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Motorhome.
