October Mountain State Forest, Lee, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty campground, it is small, shaded, and quiet. This is not a campground for large rigs. We have a 36' Motorhome. I would not try to stay there in anything bigger. Coming out of dump station caught a branch that had been sawed off but was sticking out on road 3 to 4 feet, put a good scratch on the rig. Do not trust the GPS need to put in lat long if you are not familiar with the area. We camped at October Mountain State Forest in a Motorhome.

Sunset Point Campground, Harrington, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful small park on a back bay, the bay empties out entirely at low tide, and then fills back up at high tide. Very well kept, quiet, and peaceful. You can by lobsters from the campground, or go down to the docks a few miles away and buy off the dock. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Took a ride up to Lubec to see Bay of Fundy, and West Quoddy Lighthouse. It was a beautiful day, but the fog was to thick to see out over the water at lighthouse.

Camping on the Battenkill, Arlington, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is on the river, the sites along the river are for tent camping for the most part, there are a few in an open field that are along the river. Nice swimming hole, at the campsite. The campground could use some tree trimming, there are some sites that bigger rigs can get into, there are more that you can not. My only complaint is that the cable did not really work well enough to use. I asked at the office, and they told me it must be my rig, because they had just had the whole park re-wired in the spring. This was not true, and next place we stayed with cable it worked just fine. It was not that big of a deal, I just don't like being misled. We camped at Camping on the Battenkill in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Manchester is a cool little town, it is where the original Orvis store is located, and a must see for fishing enthusiasts. We took a jeep ride through Green Mountains National Forest which was very pretty. Bennigton is 17miles to the South for groceries, hardware, anything you need.

Ne're Beach Family Campground, Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very small and tightly packed campground. It is not big rig friendly, we are in a 36' motor-home and barely were able to fit. It is close to the beach and you can walk or ride a bike. They are a Passport America park but do not honor any discount until after Labor Day. Sewer is in an awkward place had to run the hose under the bus between the back tires. 20' of sewer hose and barely made connection. Due to trees we could not get a satellite signal. We were able to get over the air television. Would not stay here again. We camped at Ne're Beach Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Walk or bike to the beach, parking is $15.00 if you take your car. There is a Pier, and amusement park, with a midway. Lots of places to eat, and get lobster.

Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort, Creede, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a real gem of a park. It is divided in two sections one is a regular RV park mostly gravel sites, the other side is 40 year leases. We stayed on the lease side, it has concrete patios, and more landscaping. The Rio Grande River runs along the RV park. The laundry room is the nicest I have every seen, there are two lodges, and a stocked fishing pond. There is great fishing, hiking, and 4-wheeling in the area. Highly recommend this RV park. We camped at Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Creede is a small mountain town, with several restaurants, and shops. There is some live music, and live theater. The bachelor loop is nice drive that can be done with out 4 wheel drive, lots of old mines. There is a lot of good fishing, and 4-wheeling in the area. Everyone we met at the park were very friendly, and welcoming.

Fiesta Key RV Resort & Marina, Long Key, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $105.00
Overall Rating:

Encore is working on improving this park and it is a good thing because it needs it. We found the staff to be unorganized, and at times rude. Change maker in Laundry room is broken, went to office for change and made us feel like we were bothering them.

We had a pull through site which was large and had plenty of room. It was confusing as to which site we were in, and others had same problem. The sites around us needed gravel, they were muddy. There were trailers that had not moved in years and were not road worthy.

Location is great, but encore really needs to improve this campground, there are a lot of issues. We camped at Fiesta Key RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Davis Lake Campground, Houlka, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

What a nice surprise, we were traveling north on the Natchez Trace, and stopped here for the night. Very nice sites, asphalt pads mostly level, some were short, but there were plenty for our 36' rig. Sites were large gravel patio areas, with fire rings, picnic tables, lantern hook, and grills. Only one concern: The way we came in just before the left turn into the campground is a bridge with a 19,000 lbs weight limit. We went across both coming and going, but if there is another way to get in I would take it. We camped at Davis Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice clean park, lower campground is better for motorhomes. Sites are on small side, no fires allowed in lower campground. Lots of history, very nice staff. We would stay here again. We camped at Grand Gulf Military Monument Park in a Motorhome.

Natchez State Park, Natchez, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Wooded park, some sites in B loop have lake view. Pads were concrete and mostly level, fire rings, and tables, sites are a little small for State Park, but enough room. Loop B is much better for motor homes than Loop A. Nice clean park, roads coming to park off Hwy 61 are a little narrow, and you have to watch for low branches, but not a problem. Just off Natchez trace, and not far from Natchez, MS. Would stay here again We camped at Natchez State Park in a Motorhome.

Faver-Dykes State Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Sand road coming in and going out of park is 3 miles long narrow, and rough. This is an older State Park, that is quiet and remote. OK for smaller trailers and Motorhomes, but would not take a 36' in again. We camped at Faver-Dykes State Park in a Motorhome.

Florida Caverns State Park, Marianna, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Paved road throughout the park. Sites are dirt for most part but mostly level. Very nice cave tour and hiking trail. Large sites with fire rings. There is also a golf course that is part of the park. Would stay here again. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.
