Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye), Luray, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park 2 miles outside Luray. Interesting layout with pull-thrus but it gives some sites a perfect front yard facing the giant grassy park. Looks like most sites have had major renovations. You can opt for level, gravel sites on the hill overlooking park or gravel sites with concrete pads and paver decks. All sites look to have fire pits. Quiet setting near a dairy farm. Great place for kids although not many here. Staff is friendly. Great base for Shenandoah NP. We will be back! We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Fifth Wheel.

Spring Hill Mobile Home Park, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Great location for Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham area. Owner and staff could not be nicer. They understand service and will not disappoint. Heavily wooded sites but no issues for even the longest RVs on drive in and out. Pull through site was long enough for 2 sixty footers. WiFi was perfect. AT&T did not work in lower area of CG but did once up the hill. Verizon worked well. Deer fed through every evening and kids had a ball in the creek. Could not recommend this CG any more highly. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ocean Waves Campground, Waves, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground on the small side. Friendly helpful staff. Clean restrooms and showers. Easy walk over dune to beautiful beach. Friendly seasonals. Most local restaurants are seasonal at best and it's 17 miles to nearest grocery so plan accordingly. We will be back. We camped at Ocean Waves Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Park was well laid out. Not "pretty" but very functional and well kept amenities. Great walking/biking path through beautiful woodlands. Not the best value but overall good stop. Would be a $40 site if not for the KOA flag. Wrong side of Mt. Pleasant but still within 30 min. of Charleston. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA), Wade, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Close to I-95. Well kept, easy pull through sites. Would have been nice to pick site in treed area as opposed to in treeless. The transient area used primarily for over-nighters. 4 new next door neighbors in 4 days. I don't think it's us though? We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park, Keystone Heights, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful, quiet park. Only drawback is no sewer and dump station requires tight maneuvering for longer rigs. Will definitely be back. We camped at Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
