Brooks Mobile Home & RV Park, Brooks, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The website explains very clearly that most of the park is for mobile homes, and they're removing older units bit by bit to develop more RV sites. It also explains about the train, which we did not mind at all when it went by once or twice (We're seniors so we wake up anyway!). The site we were on was very long and spacious. The location was fabulous -- close to Louisville and close to Bardstown. The on-site manager was helpful; the owner's were both very accommodating on the phone before and after our stay. We camped at Brooks Mobile Home & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to Churchill Down! Even if you don't bet. Even if horses aren't your thing. It's just cool (and cheap). My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown was also totally worth the visit. We could have spent more time in the area but we're on the home stretch.

Jonesburg Gardens Campground, Jonesburg, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The owner's are delightful, both on the phone and in person. It's pretty, a little funky, quiet. The campground is north of the I-70 Freeway. The cost was a lot less than closer to St. Lewis or Kansas City. See below for important hint. We camped at Jonesburg Gardens Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Use their directions. We had the WRONG ADDRESS from this site. It should read 15 State Rt E, not Y. Adorable, tiny historical section south of I-70.

Nakatosh RV Park, Natchitoches, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

It's hard to find (incomplete directions and poor signage). The hosts are not available. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but truly, there was no service except by cell phone. I was given incomplete wifi information even after repeated calls. I was never given any printed information so I didn't even realized there were bathroom codes. One of the washers had been reported as broken, and nothing was done, so when I used it, the same problem occurred (It happened that the camper who reported it came to the laundry when I was dealing with the problem.) It's too bad, because the campground is in a great location and rather pretty with big sites, but I wouldn't come again. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

By The River RV Park & Campground, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

After driving miles and miles through oil country, arriving at this campground was a delight. Our site looked out over the river from the huge shady site. This is a great location for seeing the Hill Country of Texas, and we enjoyed the local area as well. We camped at By The River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Oak Forest RV Park, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The manager gave us the Passport America rate for allowable nights even though they recently discontinued PA. That was an indication of the customer service and friendliness we received throughout our week. We were in site 1 in front of the office so for once the wifi worked well (not fast but reasonable). The showers were private, huge, clean. The jacuzzi was terrific. The permanent sites are separate from regular RV. It's not close to town, but the access is easy. We would stay here again even at full rate. We camped at Oak Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.
