Mark Twain Cave Campground, Hannibal, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We came from KC area for three nights over the Labor Day weekend. I'm sorry to say we took so long to check out this CG as well as Hannibal. We really enjoyed our stay. The town couldn't be any cuter and the CG was everything we were hoping for. It truly is nestled in a hollow and parts are very shaded with mature trees. It was a sell out crowd and everyone was having a great time. Lots of large groups as well as many people visiting campers. Staff could do a better job enforcing some parking guidelines. We did struggle when we arrived as well as departed because of inconsiderate vehicle owners making narrow roads even more difficult. We are in a 45' motorhome and tow car. Our back in site C13 was plenty long for coach, car, and then some. We actually had no patio to speak of and had to move picnic table just to back in. We had room in front of the coach so that became the patio. No problem. Will come again but will try for F1-F13 as they appeared to have much more spacing. We camped at Mark Twain Cave Campground in a Motorhome.

Outlet (Melvern) COE, Melvern, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our stay as always at this beautiful park. We have camped in B loop several times and still haven't found a spot we can level our 45' motorhome. I suspect most with smaller rigs have less of an issue. Other than living with a off level coach I have nothing but praise for this park. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

St. Peters' 370 Lakeside Park, Saint Peters, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first time here at 370 Lakeside Park and boy did we love the place. We stayed three nights for the Memorial day weekend. I anticipated long check in lines and was surprised how efficient they did check in. Park is large, spacious, and well laid out. Pretty decent spacing to neighbors. We made this reservation back in December of 2016 and we chose what seemed like the most enviable spot in the whole CG. We were in 101 with the whole lake as our patio view. We spent more time at the park than we typically do as it was so beautiful. We brought our bicycles as well as a two person kayak so we had plenty to do. We have been coming to this area for many years but always stayed @ Sundermeier. We both decided 370 will be our new home when visiting St. Louis. We camped in a 44' motorhome and our FHU back in site was plenty large for coach & car. All utilities worked as they should. We camped at St. Peters' 370 Lakeside Park in a Motorhome.

Outlet (Melvern) COE, Melvern, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay in B loop as we typically try for C loop. I give very high marks for this camp ground. Great online reservation system, great online check in system, reasonable price, and absolutely beautiful! Also feels very secure with regular sightings of park police cruising the camp grounds. This particular stay we were in B 107 and it was large enough for a 44' motorhome and car. Pretty nice for FHU and about $20 a night! I have noticed some of the sites are more level than others. Ours seem to pitch to the front so level would have left one of the steer wheels off the ground. I settled for slightly less than level. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

This was just a one night stay for us but we sure enjoyed our one night. Super nice owner and check in was maybe 2 minutes total. We had a nice FHU pull thru and everything worked as it should. We would stay here again. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here maybe 9 years ago and loved it. Our travels took us through Amarillo twice this month so we stayed here both times. I'm happy to report this place is just as excellent as we remembered. Easy & quick check in. Park is designed perfect for finding your spot. Interior roads are smooth and generous. We were in a pull thru that was concrete, level, and long enough for a 44' coach with connected car. All utilities worked as expected and cable was great. Great stay at a great park! Thanks Oasis. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Palo Duro Canyon was a short drive from Amarillo and well worth it. We also enjoyed the RV museum as well as a meal at the Big Texan.

Wellington KOA, Wellington, Kansas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

We have been staying at KOA's off/on for 20 years. Some are great and others just OK. We are in KC and we stopped here just for one night 3/23 on our way home. This one is a gem of a park just a few miles off I35. We left Amarillo early morning and after fighting terrible wind I needed a break. We got in maybe 1:00 and since we could enjoy the site all day the premium site was our choice. What a site!!! hugh level stamped concrete with a nice patio. Patio included a neat fire pit, a swing, and a table and four chairs. All hook ups as well as cable worked as expected. We enjoyed our short stay and will return again. The premium site was well worth the upcharge. This was our 14th night as well as the last night of a great trip and this stay was as memorable as our nights at the Grand Canyon. Great job folks!!! We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Air Capital RV Park, Wichita, Kansas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We have family in Wichita and have been coming here since they opened. We stayed just one night earlier this month on our way out of town. I really don't have anything to complain about but after this last stay we may look around next time in Wichita. The park is super easy to get to and find. Check in is quick & easy and park is well designed. FHU concrete pads and some nice grass between neighbors. The park was maybe 80% full on a cold early March day. Seems like the place has evolved into home for many permanent residents and traveling tradesmen etc. We had a less than desirable spot surrounded by big pick up trucks that you could hear coming/going all evening, night, and early morning. Glad the park is doing well but I think they could do a better job placing RVers farther away from the contractors staying there. We camped at Air Capital RV Park in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We normally stay at American but decided to give this place a whirl. Overall loved it. If you like huge sites and lots of space between neighbors you'll like this place. We were in one of their premium pull thru's and coach 44' and car was swimming in the site. We were nearly perfectly level and all hook up's were perfect. We actually used three AC's one day and there was no worries as they actually have 100 amp service at the sites. Easy diesel available right there at the complex also. Only little hitch is we were pretty much visiting Albq every day. This CG is about 13 miles west of the city. We knew that and was worth the extra windshield time. We will return again and stay here. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Can't quite understand negative comments about this park. It's nestled inside the Grand Canyon national park maybe 5 miles inside. It's the only CG with FHU inside any national park that can fit a rig our size that I know of. Oh and cable also. Great cable with Starz 7/24 movies. We had elk walking through the CG every day we were there! We stayed 3/13-3/17. Our site in row H was not gravel but paved. I wouldn't say it's a resort but I thought it was great. Larger rigs need to be more careful as turns can be tight but not a problem. Looked like most sites were unlevel but leveling our coach was achievable. We spent a long time planning this trip from KS and looked at staying at many other CG's. I would love to return some day but I will absolutely plan the trip around getting into Trailer Village again! We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you enjoy eating out the restaurants inside the park are wonderful. There is casual to higher priced dining available and the shuttle picks you up from the CG and takes you to whatever restaurant you choose. We went into town by car to dine a couple times and regretted it. The food at this national park (as well as all of them) is reasonable and delicious.

Whittington Woods Campground, Whittington, Illinois

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Just a one night stay for us but we loved this place. Staff was great and check in takes about two minutes. This place is loaded with mature trees and it felt like we were deep into a forest. They led us to our site and with our size 44' that was necessary. You'll have to trust me this place is simply loaded with large trees. But the trees pose no problem as they are all limbed quite high and spacing is perfect. We landed early afternoon and enjoyed every minute of our short overnight stay. We would return again in a heartbeat. Great CG! We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Clarksville RV Park & Campground, Clarksville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for only one night on our way to the Smokey's. Staff was wonderful, helpful, and friendly. We had no issue with any road noise or junkyard noise. We had a nice long pull through that was surprisingly level! We were here in a 44' motorhome and we were able to leave our car hooked up. I would camp here again. Loved it! Two Rivers Landing RV Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We have enjoyed this area before but Our first stay at this RV park. Can't add much that hasn't been mentioned already. We were here almost a week in site #22 and treasured every single day. We chose a site that overlooks the water and just loved sitting outside with the view. Location is great just a few miles off 40. If I had any complaint water sites pitch a tad more than necessary toward the river. Since they are pull in the front of the coach can be higher than I would prefer after leveling. I wouldn't lower from a perfect score because of that just an observation. Anyway, staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We will return to this RV park again. We camped at Two Rivers Landing RV Resort in a Motorhome.

D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Not much I can say that hasn't been said about this park. Love their online reservation system. You can check availability and book in about one minute on their site. You can also see exactly what site you are booking. For us control freaks you can go to google and see a actual view of your spot before you get there. Great access from the hwy but far enough to escape noise. We spend maybe two minutes checking in since we had booked on line and we were off to our site with a golf cart escort. The park is immaculate and looked to be a sell out crowd for the holiday weekend. All utilities worked great as expected. Our site (3) was level and had a sweet view of the lake. We are 45' and left car hooked up and still had enough length. Over all this is my kind of place we will go out of our way to come back. I've been to RV resorts that didn't make me smile like this place did. Great "involved" owner has done a super job here. Thanks for as great stay and we'll look forward to another trip to D & W Lake soon! We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Motorhome.

A/OK RV Park, Green River, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This one night (4/11) stay was just a place to rest and continue on the next day. We didn't unhook and I thought the CG was just fine. Power & water was fine and we had a site with 30 amp. Temps were climbing and I was nervous about not having 50 amp but all worked out just fine. We enjoyed an evening at A/OK and ate dinner in the coach. We had the place almost to ourselves except for maybe a few other campers. We enjoyed our brief stay and would return again. We camped at A/OK RV Park in a Motorhome.
