Campgrounds of the South, Gulfport, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

For the price it was a decent campground. Lots of traffic noise but it's just white noise by now. Concrete pad was plenty long enough for our truck and fifth wheel and hookups were in the correct spot. About a 10 minute drive to the beach in Gulfport and the sand is nice and white. Wifi isn't the greatest and you can have digital cable if you put a deposit down on a cable box. We were able to receive lots of channels over the air so not a big issue. They must've had rain in the last few days as there was a lot of standing water. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Lake RV Resort, Beaumont, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park close to the I-10 so there is some road noise but not bad in the trailer. Hookups are in the right spot and cable worked great. Sites are nice and fairly level with them being long enough that we didn't have to unhook for our 1 night stay. Wifi is excellent with hardly any slow downs. Would defiantly stay here again. We camped at Hidden Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with lots to do in the area. They have breakfast in the mornings for a cost as well they had a Friday Fiesta and a gathering on Saturday with a live 2 pce band. Sites were plenty long enough and wifi was pretty good. It was a gated park so we felt secure. San Antonio has lots to see and do. We'd stay here again. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park for an overnight stay. Sights are narrow but very long and well groomed. The view of Las Cruces is pretty nice especially at night. Lots to do and see in town. Quiet park that virtually empties out during the day and then fills up again for the night. We would stay here again. We camped at Las Cruces KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park to overnight in. Sites are fairly level, long and graveled. What do was good and hookups were in the right spot. Nice stopover spot on our way south. We camped at Pocatello KOA (Formerly Pocatello Creek Campground and RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Great campground for an overnight stay on our way south. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Fair amount of traffic and airport noise but not too noticeable. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park but pricey. Electric pedestal was too far forward for our power cord and had to use our extension. The gravel sites were level and well groomed when we pulled in. There is a local guy (Sal) that will wash and hand wax your unit at a very reasonable cost and we were very satisfied with his work. We had 2 sites and it was set up that our doors were facing each other with a fence in between us. One thing we did miss was the lack of a picnic table and a fire ring. Very friendly park and met quite a few of the neighbors. Will stay here again. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Valley RV Park, Von Ormy, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We had a site down by the creek with the HU's in the right spot. Large pull through and level so we didn't have to unhook. They could do with better picnic table though as ours was very rickity! Nice creek close by. Friendly staff. Only downer was the gravel road. Would stay here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Isla Blanca Park, South Padre Island, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects weekly rate. When we first got there with 2 other couples we were all supposed to be booked in the same row but when we went to our site another unit was already there. Tried calling but the phone was busy so ended up having to drive back to the office. Luckily we got another site. Also make sure about the height of your coach as the entrance gate is only 13 feet high. Ours was over that so we had to pull through a side gate. Also watch out for tons of sand burs. Easy access to the beach which was pretty clean with nice sand and bathrooms. No pool which is a bit of a downer for us but not a deal breaker. Very reasonable monthly rates and most sites are well spaced. Lots of returnees who will install their own concrete or paving stone patios, fences and even out door showers! We would return. We camped at Isla Blanca Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Southern Oaks Luxury RV Resort, Aransas Pass, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects a monthly rate. We were put in one of the new backin sites with good hook ups and a large concrete pad for both our 37' 5th wheel and truck. Pool is very nice and we used it quite often. Met some great people there and enjoyed the activities. Lots of sand burs and there was even a snake or two. Great restaurants near by but nothing within walking distance. We'd stay here again. We camped at Southern Oaks Luxury RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Galveston Bay RV Resort & Marina, Dickinson, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Price is based on the weekly rate. Sites vary greatly in size and we were in a very nice large site with a big concrete pad and hookups in the right spot for our fifth wheel. We had great views of the bay and were close to the pier. Lots of workers in the park but anyone we met was very friendly. We'd stay here again! Poche's RV Park, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Passport America and Good Sam Discount for 1 week. Roadways are pretty rough around the park, lots of holes in the pavement. Level concrete pads with good hookups except sewer is at the back so I needed two hoses but not a big deal. Wifi is great although there wasn't a lot of other campers here so it might get worse if the park was full. Most sites back onto a lake stocked with fish. Would stay here again. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Luxury RV Resort, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Not a bad park for the price ($32.00 based on weekly rate). All sites back on to a swampy bayou. Our site (55) had pretty decent wifi. All the hookups were in the right spot 9power cord was a bit of a reach but it worked). Cable also worked great with a ton of channels. Too cold to try the pool but it looks nice and clean. One can easily walk to the Gulf and the beaches. Lots of good restaurants close by. Would stay here again! Ho-Hum RV Park, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects a weekly rate. Nice no frills park right on the Gulf. Front row sites back right on to the water, we were one row in. Very friendly staff and very helpful. They were always raking around the sites ( Pine trees were dropping their needles and pine cones). Not a lot of shopping near by but there is an IGA and a Dollar General. We would defiantly stay here again. We camped at Ho-Hum RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hide-a-way RV Resort, Ruskin, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects a monthly rate. This 55 plus park has mainly grass sites with hookups near the back of the sites. Our site wasn't very level side to side as my wheels were off the ground on the off door side. Our site had really good wifi but we were lucky as the wifi tower was right behind our site. Very nice swimming pool and a fair amount of activites. Quite a few full time and seasonal residents but everyone kept their sites clean and everyone we met were very friendly. Mainly Mexican community next door and people had some stuff stolen from the campground. We would stay there again. We camped at Hide-a-way RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
