Boone RV Park, Lampasas, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The entrance is confusing, there are three driveways into the park. Look for the sign that says "Park Office" with "Propane" directly beneath it. Do not turn in at the "Boone RV" sign. Wifi is tengointeret, $5/day. Very noisy, which is to be expected as it is along US 281 (which is why we stayed here). Quite a few permanent residents, which is fine. Sites are very close together. Roads and sites are gravel. The park is ok for one night. Office personnel were extremely helpful and very nice. The park is tired and needs some sprucing up. We camped at Boone RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mustang Run RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here while visiting our son. Lots are level, roads easy to navigate. It's right off of I-40, convenient to shopping and restaurants. The down side is that it is extremely noisy due to the amount of highway traffic. This is a good place to stop for a couple of days. We camped at Mustang Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Park, Chanute, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night while preparing to take our 5th wheel in for service at Nu-Way. I'll just repeat what the post from Sept. says. It is rather noisy; but not impossibly so. If you don't mind "no-frills", this is a great choice while in the area. We camped at Santa Fe Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground, Mansfield, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park in a beautiful setting; rolling hills all around. It's beautiful and quiet in the Autumn. Having said that, we arrived at 2:30 pm on Sunday. No one was in the office. To get to the office, be sure you look closely for the signs - you need to drive around the park to get to it. Sites are level and gravel. The road within the park is also gravel. The gravel road in front of the pull-thru lots is in serious need of grading as is the gravel road leading out of the park; deep ruts are in the road. There is one tight turn leaving the pull-thrus. Wifi is decent. Water pressure and voltage is are good. I rated this park as "poor" because of the roads. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Within walking distance to the Laura Ingalls Historic Home and Museum. Entry cost is $14 per person. There is really nothing around here, you need to go to Ava (12 miles) for any fast food restaurants or Wal-Mart. We stayed one night.

Duck Creek RV Park, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were hesitant to stay here after reading the last two reviews. We found the park to be pleasant. Road noise was not an issue. Yes, there are full-time "residents" here, but it does not look like a trailer park. We found the park to be very clean. Thomas was very pleasant and helpful. The sites, as well as the interior roads, are gravel and very easy to navigate. The sites are pretty level and have sites have the option of being back to back. Not our favorite set-up. There was no one behind us. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Duck Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great restaurants and shopping are to be found in Paducah. The River Walk is not what you would find in other cities; it is nice place to sit and view the river. The flood wall murals are interesting. If you enjoy quilting, visit the National Quilt Museum. For any fiber artists, the Itty Bitty Knit Shop offers some interesting yarns at affordable price points.

Belle Ridge Retreat, Monterey, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Pull-thru lots are not level; they are long and on a mound. Back-in sites seem to be more level. Park is very big-rig friendly. Roads are wide, trees are not an impediment. Lots are spacious. For us, the value was not good. If you hike, or have an atv, the value would be much better. We stayed here one night. Sites are gravel; interior roads are paved. We camped at Belle Ridge Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Bonita Lakes RV Park , Meridian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

No shade, no grass. Lack of shade and grass could be a plus during rainy season. Concrete pads are wider than average. Interior roads are gravel. WIFI is good. No cable; many over the air channels. Sewer, water and electric connections are very good. Perfect for an overnight. Would stay here again when passing through Meridian. We camped at Bonita Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly office staff, cookies for humans and dog biscuits for our dog. Escort to our site; he was very friendly as well. Sites are gravel and level; paved interior roads. We've stayed here a few times before while heading east. Very convenient, off of I-10. Some truck noise, but that's to be expected. Cable, TengoInternet wifi which works quite well; fast. This park is great for an overnight. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Houston West RV Park, Brookshire, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here a few times on trips east. Friendly office staff, level sites. There's no cable. Wifi is TengoInternet, which is fast and works well. Not here, it was very slow. Ended up using my hotspot. This park is great for an overnite, or would work well if you planning on visiting Houston. We camped at Houston West RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bastrop / SE Austin / Colorado River KOA, Bastrop, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park; close to highway 71. Some highway noise. The park is well kept. The owners are very friendly. The "pull thrus" are back to back. We were fortunate, no one was coming in the site directly behind us. Made parking our rig easier. We were able to park our vehicle directly behind our 5th wheel. All sites are paved as are interior roads. Wifi is poor. For our needs, we feel the rate we paid was too high. Even though this is a nice park, and the owners very friendly, we would not stay here again. We don't like having someone directly behind us without a road as a buffer. We camped at Bastrop / SE Austin / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park, Bremen, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

.We stayed here overnight. We are full-time RV'rs who travel with a dog; we are well acquainted with, and obey all rules, regarding pets. At check-in we had to initial several places stating that we understood and would obey all rules pertaining to dogs. Not a problem. A worker met us at our site to guide us in. The neighbors dogs (catty-corner to us) were barking incessantly. We asked about the dogs, we were told that they only bark when someone walks by. They were unattended; against the rules. We asked to be moved to another lot. Which they did for us. The first lot we were on, we would not have been able to put our awning out. There was a tree too close. The park is neat and clean. It seems that quite a bit of money has been put into improvements to the ranger station and playground, at the expense of the sites. The sites are gravel and narrow. Once at your lot, you still need to drive up hill on the gravel until the lot levels our. Be careful. The sidewalls of your vehicle come very close to striking you fifth wheel. There are many permanent residents here. Not a problem; seemed incongruous with a park that advertises itself as a family friendly resort. In spite of the fairly friendly staff, we will not be back. Nor would we recommend this park to anyone. We camped at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Predominately a seasonal/residential campground. Unkempt. Manager didn't go out of her way to be friendly. Our site was unlevel. Reception for over the stations was not good.
