Deer Creek State Park, MIdway, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park, good location and a great value. We booked our site on line and check-in was a breeze. We were in Space 18 in the Chokecherry campground. We found some sites that would have had better views had we been more familiar with the campground, but our view was pleasant. Covered picnic table, water, electric and sewer. The sewer connection was placed at an odd angle for our RV but we were able to make it work. State parks like this are so much nicer than staying in a cramped private campground and much more reasonable (you just don't get wifi unless you have a terrific hot spot)! We camped at Deer Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV park and being located right in town is a huge bonus! It was great being within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and other attractions. The grounds are well cared for and the restroom facilities were top notch. There were four friendly ladies assisting with check-in which was quick and efficient. We would definitely stay here again if our travels brought us back to West Yellowstone! We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great Falls KOA, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Let me start off by saying, this RV park has the potential to be a great KOA (space size & privacy, and their shower system work but they need some serious attention). A gardener to clean-up the sites (weeds, dead bushes, etc.) would make these spaces much more appealing. The young girls escorting the campers to their respective sites are very enthusiastic and unlike golf cart escorts with most KOAs these kids escort on foot or by bicycle (even up the hills and slopes)! Most of the shower facilities include the shower, a toilet and a sink with vanity which is great because it's very private. We watched the guy 'cleaning up the site' an adjacent site after the previous campers left. He rode through on his ATV glanced and left. My husband said that's why our space had trash and litter in it. Getting off the ATV and looking about the campsite would take less than a minute. At $73 a night, this park is not a good value. They do have a little water park for children & a hayride which is good if you have kids, but not all of us have kiddos. The staff is friendly and eager, the park just needs some love and attention. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone's Edge RV Park, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

I hate to rate this park outstanding (because we'd never get in again) but since we live so far away, I have to! The staff and owners go over the top to make you feel welcome and assist in anyway that they can.

We're small (25') and didn't get close to the river but still loved this campground. 2 minute walk and we were on a bench right in front of the river. Some of the nicest bath houses ever. Exceptionally clean, modern and very functional. The only complaint (and it's minor), I wish all shower facilities had paper towels for you to dry off your shower shoes and other things, so you're not putting them back wet in your bag.

They had a community campfire where they provided chairs and you were welcome to bring your adult beverage if you wanted. Just lovely! This is a very nice campground and I would highly recommend it! We camped at Yellowstone's Edge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Columbia Falls RV Park, Columbia Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two nights here and could not have been happier! This park is extremely well maintained and shows signs that the owners care! The bathrooms are a little older but as my husband said (and he never comments about such things), their bathrooms sparkle every time I go in there)! They were always clean and free from any paper or dirt on the floors. They do have a lot of rules as others have mentioned but it's pretty much common sense, good neighbor rules that shouldn't but must be reiterated. I can't fault them for that! We would stay here again in a heartbeat! We camped at Columbia Falls RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Whitefish, Montana is very close by and has a delightful downtown area with lots of free parking, cute little shops, great restaurants and even a couple of nail salons for those in need. We spent quite a bit of time there and went back a second night to try another restaurant. Mama Blancas and the Buffalo Grill were both excellent restaurants with great food!

Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I called earlier in the day and asked about availability as we were leaving an RV repair place. She said there were spaces and when I offered my credit card...she said she didn't need it, if I promised to show up! Of course I did, but kudos to them for being so trusting! When we arrived she could not have been kinder or sweeter. I had a choice of two spots and opted for the one closer to the restroom, showers and laundry room. Many people complained about the noise in their reviews but we live in a condo in downtown San Diego along a trolley and railroad track, so this wasn't an issue. I have a small fan and earplugs and we really didn't notice the noise. The bathrooms are dated but very clean. The laundry room was fine and the rates, reasonable. I would second the comment of a previous reviewer and add that a counter or table for folding would be helpful. If in the area, we would stay here again! We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Motorhome.

Missoula KOA, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this KOA because it was close to the Mercedes dealership that we needed to visit the next morning for some RV repairs. The KOA is surrounded by a trailer park (many of which, were not in very good shape, which was a little disconcerting to us). That said, the park itself was quite okay. Some spaces had quite a bit of shade, unfortunately our's did not. There was a pool, miniature golf and playground. The camp store was a good size but I was a little disappointed in the frozen food section. Usually, there are a lot of options like pizzas, lean cuisines, and other microwavable selections but this one only had a couple of items and after a long day of travel, we just wanted to dine in. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained even though they're a bit older. We camped at Missoula KOA in a Motorhome.

Spruce Park on the River, Kalispell, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

We were not as wowed by this park as some of the other reviewers but that may because our space was average at best. It was close to the restrooms which was convenient but the restrooms are old and dated. The spaces along the river were probably better than those close to the back which is where we were but the spaces were small. And as is the case with many RV parks the wifi was spotty, especially at night when everyone is streaming. From the reviews and pictures we were expected something a bit more special with more charm and ambience. We camped at Spruce Park on the River in a Motorhome.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

The pictures on the website for this RV park are a bit misleading. I would say very few sites have a view of the marina and the spaces are very close together. I give them huge extra customer service points because I went in (even though there was a NO VACANCY sign, but we are only 25' and fit in a lot of spaces most motorhomes can't fit in, plus we don't have a toad). The lady at the counter told me there was nothing even for a small unit so I returned to the RV but as we were pulling out, the owner's son stopped us and said he had a site he was holding in case there was an emergency but we were welcome to stay in that site. it was full hookups and toward the back but we were very happy to have it. We used to own a hotel and it's common to keep an emergency spot but it was very kind of them to flag us down and offer it. Extra credit points for sure! We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fish House Inn and RV Park, Dayville, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stumbled upon Fish House Inn & RV Park on a drive through town and thought it was delightful. Even though there was a 'No Vacancy' sign for RVs (there was still availability in the Inn), my husband said, well at least ask! The owner came out and I sheepishly asked (because of the sign) and he said let me check the book, then said they had a small space that could accommodate our 25' motorhome with full hookups. It was in a lovely grassy area, right next to the restrooms and perfect. He could not have been kinder. It's a very tiny park but you can instantly see that the owners really care about their property and pay strict attention to the tiniest of details. There's a little shop next door with great sandwiches and ice cream. It's a charming little down filled with character. We'd go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a special little spot! We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Salinas / Monterey KOA, Prunedale, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very tired KOA property. The bathrooms are outdated (there are signs saying they're going to be remodeled), none of the doors in the women's restroom locked or latched. The back-in entry was uneven and even though our rig is only 25 feet, we scraped the bottom getting in because of that, plus the spaces were right on top of each other with no room in between. The internet was pretty much non existent and when I mentioned it the next day they said it was out last night but good today, it was not and this was mid-day when it's doubtful others were streaming movies. Aside from the substandard internet, my other biggest complaint would be that they have roosters and chickens wandering around the campsites and they start crowing WAY before sun-up (4:00am). Ridiculous! We stayed here because of the proximity to the Salinas Sports Complex but we would not stay here again. I realize not all KOA's are equal, but this was a real disappointment. We camped at Salinas / Monterey KOA in a Motorhome.

Tucson / Lazydays KOA, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Most of the other reviewers have detailed all the good things this park has to offer! It is well kept, has many amenities, a very friendly and knowledgable staff and it has a nice BBQ restaurant and cantina on site. We were totally surprised at how reasonable and great the food and service were. Being able to pick fresh citrus off the trees at the sites was also a nice bonus! We would definitely stay there again, if in the area. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

Hungry Horse Campground, Dorr, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Great little park with a very 'park like' feel. Nice spacing between campsites, lots of grass and trees. The seasonal campers' areas were neat and orderly. We were just here briefly for an overnight, but would definitely stay again if we were in the area. We camped at Hungry Horse Campground in a Motorhome.

Two Rivers Campground, Skowhegan, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Two Rivers was great! The staff was nice, friendly & efficient, our site was perfect, the bathroom facilities were good and the view was perfect. Very strong wifi signal which is amazing for an RV park. They could have charged premium $$$ for this spot based on what we've been paying, yet it was reasonable and fantastic! If you're traveling in this area, you owe it to yourself to stay here - a real treat! We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Motorhome.

Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was a huge disappointment, cramped site and very poor value. I was stunned that it got some high ratings. The people on both sides were extremely close and the campers on our hookup side had their dog pen right next to our hookups. There was no grass, no gravel, just mainly dirt which turned to mud after the rain. I expect more from a KOA based on past experiences, but this was just a big ripoff, all because they're close to the beach. Not all KOAs are great but you can expect a certain level of comfort that this campground totally lacked. We camped at Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA in a Motorhome.
