Strathmore & District Agricultural Society Campground, Strathmore, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

It is unfortunate that we have to rate this the worst RV park we have ever stayed at - but it was. We are experienced campers and have stayed at many (100+) campgrounds in Canada and the US. You drive into this RV park - it is a culture shock to see the 'seasonal' RVs - a very poor impression - sites overcrowded with junk, homemade outdoor showers, etc. When we called for a reservation 1 1/2 months before we were to arrive in Strathmore it was 1st come 1st serve (reservations are now accepted) we got a site out in the back 40. The site was not level and full of holes; the sewer hook-up was a foot or more out of the ground - your hose came out of the RV - laid on the ground - when it reached the sewer hook-up it had to go upwards for a about a foot. You had to hold your sewer hose up off the ground when dumping. The sewer, water and electrical were all close together - it was not pleasant. There were 'many' sites empty due to several problems - either the electrical did not work or there was a problem with water, etc. The Wi-Fi was $20 for 4 days but it did not work - took some convincing on our part to get a refund; the water/pressure at our site was acceptable. The Manager was very nice but was overworked. Strathmore is a nice town - we lived there for 25 years - but we are totally embarrassed by this campground - it could be a gem! The sites at the entrance are nicely treed and a decent size - but taken over by seasonal rvs and they do what they want with their sites! We did get a 'rule' sheet but it is obvious the seasonal people do not abide by the rules nor are the rules enforced. There is a shortage of GOOD campgrounds in the Calgary/Strathmore area - if the Ag Society put some thought and hard work into this campground it would be great! We would not recommend this campground and we would stay at a truck stop rather than camp here again. We camped at Strathmore & District Agricultural Society Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very good campground. Nice sites, not too close to your neighbor, and not bothered by highway noise. It is really not that loud. Pleasant and helpful staff. Site was nice graded, tidy with picnic table and fire/pit. We would recommend this park and would stay here again. We camped at Thunder Bay KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Wawa RV Resort and Campground, Wawa, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Older looking park, sites need to be cleaned up, new gravel, trees trimmed. Road in/out could use some dust control. Dump station was in a poor spot. It held up other traffic leaving the park. Staff was very pleasant. We would overnight here again. We camped at Wawa RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Campland RV Resort, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. It is a new park and has lots of potential. The only problem we found was the sites fine but the road to access a sit is very narrow and it is almost impossible to 'not' drive on the grass when pulling in or pulling out. The grass at the entrance/exit to the site needs to be curved more to allow for a big rig to get in and out without damaging the grass. The staff was pleasant. We would recommend this park and would stay here again. We camped at Campland RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Coronado Motel & RV Park, Lindsborg, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park for 8 days. The park itself is not bad - needs upgraded - gravel, trees trimmed etc. The site was a good size, treed, but awkward to back into. When it rained it was a swamp, gravel would really help. The power source is questionable - we needed 50 amp, which we got - but we had power surges or no power - the power post was tested but showed that it was OK, we added an adapter and extension to our shore line and used the power post on the next lot - we had full power. We had read previous reviews about the problems with the campground but had to stay there. We were very concerned about damage to our electrical system - but this time we were lucky. We stayed in Site 14 - so beware. The manager is a nice person, but seems overwhelmed with all he has to do. Not sure of we would stay there again. Our trailer is 40' long. We camped at Coronado Motel & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Turkeyville RV Resort, Marshall, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, good access to park and sites. We have a 40' RV and the length of the site was more than enough for the RV and truck. We only stayed one night so never got to try the restaurant. We would stay at this park again. It is one of the nicest RV parks we have been to. Only one thing we would like to see is more signage on the highway if possible. We camped at Camp Turkeyville RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
