The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Mostly pull-through spaces. Good access roads and spaces are large enough to not feel cramped. No shade unless you opted for gazebo lots. (I didn't know about them when I made reservations.) Clean and well maintained but there is nothing fancy about the place. They have nice fenced in pool/hot tub with attached game area. Trash pickup at site was a bonus for me. We would stay again if we are back in the area. We camped at The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads in a Fifth Wheel.

Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff. Park is clean, well maintained. Has multiple bathhouses and laundry rooms. We saw 2 playgrounds, a game room, and a pool. Also had a kiddie pool area. Our site was gravel and it was level. Good spacing between campsites. Little shade, but our site did face away from the afternoon sun. Check height of RV to make sure you go in from the direction away from the 13'3" bridge. We camped at Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out McClearys Irish Pub for dinner (about 20 minutes away). Martins Country Kitchen is where we went for breakfast and we liked it enough to go back a second morning. We didn't try it for dinner. Hershey Park is great for kids of all ages. 13 roller coasters and MANY rides for small kids. We only made it about half way through on our one day there. If you are over 55, don't forget to ask for senior discount. Chocolate World was a flop in my opinion.

Daisy Barn Campground, Wilson, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very small park on Lake Ontario. Many permanent campers though all were well maintained. Friendly staff. Large open gazebo near lake. Nice dock but no area for swimming. Small but nice playground for kids, with plenty of open space for running wild! We had the only kids there during our stay. We had a family reunion picnic while staying there. We will stay again when back in the area if it doesn't turn into all full time campers. We camped at Daisy Barn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Niagara Falls, Fort Niagara, the Buffalo Zoo are all close by. The best place to visit is Reid's in Lockport on hwy 78 for the best milkshake ever. It has been there in the same building for over 70 years. We stop by several times during each visit to the area.

Rippling Waters Church Of God Campground, Romance, West Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Camped one night while passing through. Beautiful site overlooking one of the catch and release lakes. Staff was friendly. We didn't use many of the amenities offered on this trip due to time constraints but our granddaughter had hours of fun fishing (first time) and watching the ducks. Only negatives were that it is 3-4 miles down a narrow, hilly road and that leads to a lot of road noise. We still managed well pulling a forty foot fifth-wheel. Would come back. We camped at Rippling Waters Church Of God Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherokee Campground, Blacksburg, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff. Owner onsite. Small campground with some long-time residents/snow birds. Gravel sites with water/sewer/electricity. If they have cable, we didn't see it. Great antenna reception. Need fire ring if you are staying for any period of time. We spent one night and would stay again. We camped at Cherokee Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
