Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We loved the orange trees between the sites. There were no oranges to pick when we were here. The sites were long enough for our 40' motorhome and parking our toad behind. The sites were wide enough for our four slides with room for a picnic table. The office staff were fantastic and very informative. There was free coffee and donuts every morning. My husband did get stung by a bee on his arm but we had no other problems, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Club Royal Oak RV Resort, Kingsburg, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination. You have to choose between having full hookups or having some space, both are the same price. We had reserved full hookups but our site was so narrow we couldn't put our awning out. There was no water in the river at all.

The gated entrance is a hassle since newcomers have to park right in front of it to register while current residents wait to drive through. The roads are narrow. The sites are set among large trees but our views were mostly of our neighbors' rigs. I am very well acquainted with the exterior decor of a certain brand of fifth wheel. It's quiet because most of the residents are permanent and work during the day. We didn't have a fire ring since they are not at the FHU sites. We didn't even have a picnic table since our site was a pull through and the only space for one is either in front or behind our rig. This park has a lot of potential if the owners would reconfigure the sites to provide space and FHU. Until then we won't return. We camped at Club Royal Oak RV Resort in a Motorhome.

South Forty RV Ranch (55+ Park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here on and off (mostly on) for a year while we prepared to go full-timing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The new manager is excellent and has made great improvements. We enjoyed the huge pool and attended several of the planned activities. Close to I-10, shopping, and a great bike path. We would highly recommend this park and look forward to staying here in the future. We camped at South Forty RV Ranch (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

We recommend The Crying Onion for breakfast. Their pancakes cover the entire plate! El Molinito is one of our favorite mexican restaurants. Just a few miles from the Foothills Mall, Home Depot, Lowe's, Target, Walgreens, CVS, etc.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Spaces are wide and long with no need to unhook. Plenty of space for our four slides. Easy access from I-40. The back-in sites across from our pull-through site were empty so we had a wonderful view from our front windshield. We extended our stay from two nights to five nights in order to visit a rum distillery 20 minutes away. Very friendly staff. It's out of town so it's quiet and low-key. There is a Petro fuel station close by. We look forward to staying here again. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I enjoyed this park. It is easily accessible for big rigs. The WiFi worked great. The pool was a little cool for most folks. The continental breakfast was more enjoyable when they had hard-boiled eggs instead of Light & Lean yogurt for the sole protein. We will definitely return to this park. Great access to I-40 and very close to Camping World and La Mesa RV. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.
