Blueberry Pond Campground, Pownal, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The staff is over-the-top friendly and so very helpful. There are strict and enforced policies on noise and speed limit in the campground. Those are appreciated! We felt like family while camping there for 3 nights. We enjoyed the campfire and visiting with all the campers. The pool looked nice though too cold for a swim. We would certainly go there again and hated to leave such great folks. We camped at Blueberry Pond Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be careful to take the best route into the campground from the interstate. There is a dirt road with rough spots just before the turn to the campground. The campground road is also a little rough, but no problem getting in.

Meadow-Vale Campsites, Mount Vision, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We would give this campground a 10 if the WiFi was better. There was no sewer but a dump station and offered weekly dumping with a small fee. The new owner and his family were so friendly and accommodating. Getting there is no easy feat - roads are rough (certainly not their fault). In in Big Rig Meadow, it was quiet, sunny, and relaxing - loved that. We stayed Sunday thru Tuesday; when the weekender pulled out, there were a very few campers left. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We camped at Meadow-Vale Campsites in a Motorhome.

North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina, Little River, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This BRAND NEW Resort is indeed, a RESORT! Wow! It is fabulous with so many details for enjoyment - soft music piped throughout the park for you to enjoy while walking down the waterfront. The IntraCoastal Waterway provides viewing pleasure all day while you sit in a swing (listening to the music) or on a nice bench. The sites a paved, plenty large, with new picnic tables. There are hammocks on most sites to enjoy while reading or just a slow swing. The lack of street lights are one of my favorites - no light glaring into the bedroom at night. The tall palm trees are lighted from the bottom providing a welcoming sight at night. The pool with tall slide and the incredibly designed play areas are the children's highlights. We highly recommend this one. The Value rating of Satisfactory is because we typically will not pay over $40/night. The rate of $59 at this time of year is quite pricey; must not bother many folks - the place was over half full. We are a bit more frugal but will go back (in the dead of winter) when the rates go down. We camped at North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina in a Motorhome.

Stecoah Valley RV Resort, Robbinsville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We found Stecoah from biker friends who saw the sign on a recent trip! We checked into and it's perfect for us. There are NO frills and that's exactly what we are looking for. Very nice folks here and the owners are delightful. I think this is one of those "best kept secrets". Though we really like it here, who hope our review will not keep us from getting a good space next. time. Highly recommend. We camped at Stecoah Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Campground about 15 miles west of Bryson City NC - LOVE the location as it's away from all the hoopla in the area. Plenty of shopping, grocers, etc. are close enough.

Alton RV Park, Galloway, Ohio

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small and quite nice park. The owners are so accommodating and willing to help in any way. We were wary at first but when I called, the lady with whom i spoke was just the nicest and had exactly what we needed. We stayed a full week and felt "at home". We had a bit of snow two times and FRIGID weather. It is close to Camping World that had repair parts we needed due to the weather. No, it doesn't have amenities one might need for children, but it is perfect for a quiet stay. We would surely come here again. We camped at Alton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Call ahead! We were traveling in the winter - this is one of only a very few parks open. We were lucky to get a site. There's very little to do in the immediate area - very nice Kroger is about a mile. Movie theater within 3 miles. Very close to Columbus where there is MUCH to do. Eat at Ann and Tony's in West Jefferson - about 5 miles. Delicious!

Madison KOA, De Forest, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Upon arrival, the camp hosts welcomed us with genuine smiles. Each was knowledgeable of the registration process and had us on our way very quickly. They took time to make sure we knew where everything was and especially what county we were in, in case of a weather emergency! That was a first for me. We enjoyed the pool: small but clean and refreshing. We camped at Madison KOA in a Motorhome.

This was an overnight stay for a long trip. It was quiet and we loved the view of the small lake. There is a nice walking trail around the lake. The landscaping is lovely and everything is well groomed. We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp Namekagon, Springbrook, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Eleven (11) days at this lovely campground were PERFECT. It is clean, adult friendly, quiet, large sites, fire rings, beautiful views, large trees! We love that it is dark at night and not lit with street lights; a true feeling of camping!

There is a bar and grille with a limited menu that is home-cooked and enough of a variety for those of us who delighted in not having to cook it ourselves. Pizza and great hamburgers were delicious.

Tubing, kayaking, and canoeing are all a part of this experience. This couple are welcoming hosts, assuring a delightful vacation. We highly recommend this one and can't wait to return. We camped at Camp Namekagon in a Motorhome.

Crabtree RV Park, Alma, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The folks here were super friendly! That is the positive for Crabtree.

The parking area is probably an old parking lot with no bells and whistles. It is easy in and out with full hookups (wifi is slow). I-40 is within "hearing distance" but that did not bother our sleeping.

There are two nice restaurants within walking distance and a small creek running through the back with a walk bridge to a nice grassy area.

The park is part of a large RV operation with sales, parts, service, etc. If you are looking for a decent overnight, this is your place. It would not be a destination. Felt safe here. We camped at Crabtree RV Park in a Motorhome.
