Bass Lake RV Campground, Dillon, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Its a nice quiet campground right off 95 south. There is noise from a racetrack behind the campground when they are racing but I consider this a bonus as I went to the races because I found out about the track. the owners were great, british and very helpful. Gave us great places to eat. the lake is nice but those sites are for tenters. considering how close 95 is there is hardly any noise. We camped at Bass Lake RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Kings pizza in dillon has great Italian food. If you need or want some tools Harbor freight is one exit south. When pulling into your site be very aware of the water pipe . it doesnt show up too well. I found out the hard way. The owner took care of it quickly and handled the situation like a true gentleman.

Tips for other Campers:

Plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. Heavy traffic at the entrance road so if you see an opening go go go ! Dont look for tourist info in the office. They dont have any, so if you are a tourist you are on your own. I had never seen a campground that didnt have some kind of tourist flyers available. nice place otherwise.

Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

It's a nice campground with lots of shade trees. The pool is heated but just a tad on the small size if a crowd showed up. The staff is very helpful. It is right on the bus line into downtown San Antonio and it's a short ride. Its also right on the riverwalk in case you are a jogger. All in all a very pleasant experience. We camped at Travelers World RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

4 of the 5 missions( the Alamo is the 5th) are south of town, right near the campground and an easy drive. They are more interesting than the Alamo, to be honest. Walmart is a mile and a half away too. Definitely use the bus to downtown. It's much easier all around.

Sandpiper RV Resort, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Check in went fine, got a nice site (9) but it had a weak 50 amp breaker. I walked over to one of the employees and explained my problem and he took me right up to the office and got me a different site with no hassles at all. both employees were helpful and apologetic about the problem and couldnt be more helpful. It was a nice experience. Wish we could have stayed longer. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

we ate at Russos Italian across the street in a small plaza. good food and close enough to walk the parking system in Galveston is weird. ya gotta pay darn near everywhere and they want you to do it by phone. Not so sure my flip phone can do that but even if it could I cant LOL. old age is tough

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Not much to say. They have full hookup pull-throughs. WiFi seemed OK. The road noise was minimal, cookies were good and easy in and out. That's all you need for an overnighter. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hollywood Casino RV Park, Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We were there during tropical storm Cindy and it was interesting, to say the least. There was some flooding at the sites but the staff let us move to higher spots. They came by at least hourly to check on us and to inform us of any developments. The campground is nice, paved, good power and cable, level sites, trees, trash barrels, and a free shuttle to the casino. We enjoy our stays there. The only complaint would be the check-in process. They need to have a campground manager on site to check you in not the hotel desk. They are way too busy with the hotel stuff. We camped at Hollywood Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

The casino and hotel are a short walk from the campground but the shuttle is available also. There is a pool at the hotel that you can use. Bay Saint Louis is a quaint little town with many shops and restaurants along the gulf waterfront. It's well worth a visit. I just wish I could have won at the slots. Oh well, maybe next time.

We have been here before, when it was a KOA and it has improved a lot. there are many new power poles and they have leveled the sites much more. the staff was very helpful when i had an electrical problem. the pool is nice too. they were having free banana splits for fathers day. i wanted one but had to pass it up. its a great spot for an overnight stay or even for a few days. nice and quiet too. We camped at Triple C’s Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee We in a Motorhome.

Holiday Cove RV Resort, Cortez, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations on the phone but when we got there we had to go through the whole info routine due to the fact that there are two different entities that rent out the sites and neither seems to know what the other is doing. Very strange indeed. The campground is neat, clean and attractive. The streets are a bit narrow for backing in but the escort guided us in . We would have stayed longer but couldnt get a hold of the person who booked us originally so we left for another place. We camped at Holiday Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Beach House just over the bridge on the island was nice. A bit pricey, but nice. Our favorite beach was just south of Cortez road on the island . It had shade, showers, and restrooms, and plenty of parking.

Ho-Hum RV Park, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The check in was a nice experience for a change. The staff answered all our questions in a very helpful and friendly way and it was easy to see that they were really into their job. Couldnt be better. Park is clean and neat. The sites are large and the hookups worked as advertised. Had a little trouble with the cable but that was due to our settings on our tv. Got them straightened out without any help. The views out our windshield were great. We camped at Ho-Hum RV Park in a Motorhome.

The town of Carrabelle is quaint but other than a couple of small museums. really doesn't have much going on. Applachacola down the road is very interesting and St Georges Island has some beautiful beaches.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations here months ago and asked for a pullthru site. We arrived early afternoon and were put in what I would consider a rally field . The system here seems to be -give out the crappy sites first and give the late arrivals the good sites even if they are only overnighting. We spent a week in the worst site in the place so will never come back. We had to back out of our "pullthru " because of the ridiculous layout they have. It could be a nice place but it isn't now. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tallahassee East Campground , Monticello, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

It is an ok place to over nite but not for any length of time. Dirt roads were rutted and I wouldn't want to be here in a heavy rain. Staff friendly enough but kind of disinterested. Many permanent campers. Power seemed to be adequate. We camped at Tallahassee East Campground in a Motorhome.
